Grizzlies

I would like to state that I am a proud grizzlies fan and have been since the vancouver days. Most of you know this already. Damn, the grizzlies have had some struggles and very poor lottery luck, but it's starting to look good.

Before the season started, I claimed the grizzlies would end up 30-52 at best. I claimed they were young and growing together and gelling. I refused to believe mayo and gay were having problems together and that it won't work out. at this rate, the grizz could reach 30 or more wins and show the league that they're one of the new up and coming teams, like the blazers, thunder, kings and clippers.

Although I was right about a.i, I was wrong about randolph and thabeet. Randolph has done wonders for this team, and is certainly earning every penny of his contract this year. I am a fan of randolph due to his success on and off the court. He is staying outta trouble and getting along with the team. I basically ran an anti-thabeet campaign due to the fear of seeing gasol getting replaced due to fan favorite....and inside my heart i did not see the next mutumbo and all. But he is playing very good D, and I can't wait for him to bulk up and get some years behind him.

I would also like to call out people on here ( i won't say who exactly..) who claim mayo's not as good as he was last year. I'm going to let you know that you must watch his game and notice that he passes more, even if it's not showing up in assists...i know some of you on here look at stats... anyway, even if it's not showing up in assist numbers, he's finding his teammates and is starting to take smarter shots.

The grizzlies also started the season off 1-8, and since then they are 17-10, making them 18-18.

I would now like to say that I am very proud of the grizzlies and am pleased as a fan. They've reached a game over .500, 30 or more games into a season this year, and the last time they did that was in 05-06. they lost tonight to charolette, gerald wallace's beautiful tip in buzzer beater was a heartbreaker for grizzlies fans.

Well stated! As a Grizz fan,

Well stated! As a Grizz fan, I am proud as well with our team's accomplishments on and off the court. Hopefully, the management will continue to draft well and make the RIGHT moves to keep this team moving in the right direction.

its good to see you stuck

its good to see you stuck with them from day one. they arent my team but i said earlier that with there talent they could make the playoffs. i was laughed at and told how zach is the black hole and mayo and gay cant play together. you probably remeber all this. i defended them so much people started to think i was a grizz fan..lol. i just always liked randolph but felt he has gotten a bad rap because hes always on bad teams where he has to carry the offense all the time. and that may and gay only had a year and some change together and needed time to gel.

Oj is balling like he jus came offa rebound !!!!

I f u cant watch a grizzles u need to get league pass like me Oj mayo is a stud already.... the box score doesn't tell you the whole picture his passing n ball handling are very much improved this yr( almost under 2to a game at 2.09).. some games he gets his 5 or 6 assists some games he doesn't this is due to the fact that he doesn't dominate the ball conely does and he only gets about 5 assist... he plays very unselfish n picks his spots wen to shoot by evidence he is only taking 15 shots a game the same as last yr. and hitting at a better clip. and recently he has been on fire from the field and three his last 7games... which puts him .467FG and .388 from three... attacking the basket a whole lot this yr also doesn't always get the foul but that will come..(IF U LOOK AT SHOT DATA on Hoopdata.com HE FINISHES AT THE RIM BETTER THAN ROSE AND WESTBROOK AND EVANS... Oj IS AT 65.9% ) and not only is he the most clutch sophomore he might be top 5 LEAGUE WIDE ( the three against Cleveland in the last 40 seconds, game winner against jazz, the crazy three with 5 seconds left after he shook up Gerald Wallace to tie it last night. and a couple other all start type pressure shots). Memphis is winning this yr and the fourth quarter the ball goes thru mayo whether he is passing or scoring jus like Kobe wade joe and b roy.. Oj is having a great yr and will be an all star next yr SO while everyone continues to not mention Juice he just keeps getting better

this will be mayo's team

this will be mayo's team next year, i think we might decide to let randolph walk if they cant sign him to a cheaper contract after next year, with him gone and hopefully thabeet ready to take over the center spot, and arthur hopefully healthy and plaing goodball, we could still be a winning team, wondering who plays PF? Marc Gasol, alotta people wassaying he couldnt play the position lastyear, but Marc is seemingly sculpting his body so that he can be more mobile and be moved to the PF position where he will guard some of the league's best, and that would be a LONG ATHLETIC FRONT COURT thabeet @ 7'3, Gasol @ 7'1, Rudy @ 6'9, id also like to see them make a move to get jon scheyer in the second round, i think he's gonna surprise alot of people, dont mistake him for reddick, he can handle the rock and make good decisions on the fly

GOOOOOOO GRIZZLIES if we just miss the playoffs this year, im betting money on next year, but im hoping for 40+ wins and playoffs this year, i want the Grizzly season to go on till it cant nomore

they will not be as good if

they will not be as good if zach walks. thabeet isnt gonna be able to step in and do what marc or zach does in year 2. thats asking wayyyyyyyyyy to much. some one that raw doesnt just become a 14 and 10 guy in a season or even 2 and in most cases 3. and i dont see him ever becoming a zach randolph production guy. hopefully they do resign zach. but zach will get a nice contract either wit the grizz or someone else because hes worth it

i never said he would become

i never said he would become a zach type producer, and when zach leaves OJ will be in his 4th season, rudy his 6th, marc his 4th, do u honestly think none of those guys will have become better, thabeet is also getting better and better with everygame, when zach leaves it would be his 3rd year as a pro, and i can honestly see thabeet in his 3rd year averaging, 10ppg 8rpg 14 and 10 is pushing it sure enuff, but add his shot blocking and shot altering its about the same..mayo and rudy will still be averaging more than 20, pushing 20, or right at 20, and if zach didnt man the post right now, gasol could easily be averaging 18+ a game he takes like 10 shots a game and is averaging 15, i cant see the future but i cant see the grizzlies resigning randolph to a contract of te same magnitude especially at 30years old

if you think they will be as

if you think they will be as good without out zach in the first year without him then you have another thing coming. rudy and gay cant check other pf. they dont score in the post they dont rebound liek zach. they will play better but its not gonna be a instant thing of them being just as good without him. thats diminishing his importance and ability if you think that

never did i once state

that they would be better without zach, but they can still be a winning team, rudy gay is 1 player and is not a pf to begin with, randolph is always murdered by pf so Marc cant do any worse defensively, offensively the grizzlies wont have problems scoring, thats obvious, i never said zach's production would be or could be replaced by either big man on the grizzly roster, but i think we can still have a winning team, the only player id replace in the starting lineup is conley, zach is a beast on the offensive end everyone knows that!

already went through this.

already went through this. zach gives up 17ppg to starting pf. so you gotta stop just reading other people say how he gets murdered on defense because that is not ture. memphis without zach would not be good next year. zachs production could not be replaced by any player on there bench.. not even close..thabeet is a none factor and arthuer??...really?...youre dreaming if you think they can replace zach that easy or they would have the same record right now without zach

LEN BIAS

the difference between the 2 of us, i watch every grizzly game that is broadcasted on FSTN, i am a grizzly fan, apparently u can look up stats or whatever, when im watching the grizzlies play, what i see is zach getting help defensively just about every possession where the opposing PF has the ball, besides that he really dont have to guard big names and when he do he had only 1 player didnt have a break away game, thats dirk in that slaughter that 1 watched from Qtr1-Qtr4, it was filled with doubles and collapses and the mavs just couldnt capitalize, the doubles and what not made dirk take shots he didnt want, and when he kicked it they couldnt hit open shots, never was there a 1 on 1 dirk and zach...i was just wwatching the game against the wizards not too long ago, in the first quarter, on multiple possessions i witnessed jamison go right by zach with little attemp to play defense, im just sayin, watch the games and you'll see, ofcourse he is gonna score but his scoring can be replaced

they wont resign zach unless its 4 the low

i think they will be better without zach although i cant deny what they are doing now with him but imagine rudy taking 3 more shots and mayo and gasol plus you factor n better defense with tahbeet( i think with time he can give us 13 and over 10 boards wit three blocks by yr 3 he has been improving a lot and we are bringing him along slow he alters alot of shots already. add n a draft pick a pf this yr.. monroe ed davis or another pf in the draft and we wont miss zach that much) we have the pieces and oj marc and rudy will only getter better add some bench scroing right now we have none except every 5th game were sam young gives us something and we wont miss zach he is just showing what we can become when we get more polished and experience..

give it up for the grizzlies

randolph is having a all-star season, plus hes staying out of trouble. mayo and gay playing well too. i think the grizzlies are two players away(pg and pf)from making some serious noise in the west.

Memphis needs to take a page

Memphis needs to take a page out of Oklahoma Citys book, and keep these guys together..when they are all on the same page they are dangerous...how can you say that memphis will not need Zach Randolph???? he has been the most consistant of them all this season, you will lose Zach and Rudy Gay..OJ Mayo is a beast he plays hard and more importantly he doesnt argue which is why i like him. with Thebeet and Gasol there going to be very tough...but one question remains..we all know that Jerry West is in charge in Memphis...do you think he is going to end up sending OJ Mayo to the Lakers in the near future??? Derek Fisher is getting old, L.A. is a familiar stomping ground for Mayo.

gay will become a restricted free agent....and let me educate you about this, aight? restricted means other teams can make offers and he can sign this offer sheets. Memphis will then have the chance to match the offer...and i don't think they're about to piss away their future letting gay go.

do you think that getting to the playoffs is like getting to the nba finals to me?

you havn't contributed to this discussion in anyway possible, you've only thrown out bullsh*t comments since you've entered this topic.
