Jerryd Bayless

He is just as athletic as Westbrook and Rose, a lot of people forget that he was in the same draft as them. Do you think he flys under the radar? Now that he's been getting playing time, what do you see from him in the future as an NBA player?

I wouldnt dare compare his

I wouldnt dare compare his athleticism to Rose, hes athletic in his own right, but not Rose/Westbrook athletic

But I do think he flies under the radar, And playing behind Steve Blake last season didn't help...
I think hes still one of those tweeners yet to find his position in the NBA, is he a 1, is he a 2?

Bayless is VERY athletic,

Bayless is VERY athletic, but I think he's a few notches below Rose as an overall athlete. I think he's a notch or two below Westbrook also. Here's one of my favorite mixes of Bayless though.

Bayless

I like what thatguy said about the Chauncey comparison because billups was a similar player earlier in his career, but i dont see a star player in Bayless. I think he is just going to be a point who can score in bunches ala Bobby Jackson.

I don't know... He has a strong scorer's mentality. He's more Arenas than Billups.

His game is very reminiscent

His game is very reminiscent of Gilbert Arenas, as both predicate themselves on their willingness to take any shot at any time and unbelievable quickness. Bayless doesn't boast the same athleticism of Rose and Westbrook, but he has a quicker first step than perhaps anyone in the NBA.

If I've said it once (and I have: http://nbadraft.net/node/2003) I'll say it over and over again. Bayless is a star in the making. He was rougher than Mayo, there was no doubt about that at the time of the draft. But he's got more upside than Westbrook in my opinion because he's a more natural talent. It's just a shame it took injuries to the entire roster for the Blazers to finally give him some burn.

i think he's pretty damn

i think he's pretty damn athletic maybe not quite as athletic as Rose and Westbrook, but i think he's a much better shooter. I feel like he has the potential to be a star, it may not be in Portland though.

That was a pretty sick mix

That was a pretty sick mix of bayless. I think Rose is more athletic but its very close between him and westbrook. I think it is safe to say though that bayless athleticism is more than passable. I don't know about the Chauncey comparison. Arenas is closer as well as Monta Ellis. I think even Ben Gordon could be a good comparison as well. But Bayless has potential to be an allstar in this league. I don't think there is any doubt that even now he is a better scorer than westbrook and rose. I think he can be a great score first point guard. For example Aaron Brooks doesn't get alot of assists or even tony parker has recently just started posting 7apg. I think with steady playing time and confidence there is no doubt he is a talented scorer, but what will determine his success is if he can get 6 or 7 assists with no more than 3 turnovers a game. So to cap it off his ceiling is similar to a Gilbert Arenas but at worst he is a great sixth man ala ben gordon or Jamal Crawford.
