Nothing new for Evan Turner, just another day in the Midwest, by now Turner is use to being overlooked. First it was Rose at Simeon, then Mccamey of Illinois, now Turner game continues to evolve and quite frankly, many admitted his numbers were fantastic but still fail to give him the praises. I'm calling it, Turner will be Brandon Roy, plus more. He set his teammates up off penetration; his shooting ability off the dribble is unstoppable; has shown the continued effort to disrupt his opposition by taking the ball. He's going to lead an NBA franchise to glory one day. Unlike many, Turner focus is on basketball and becoming a great. His obligation has shown pedigree every since stepping on St. Josephs floor, in Chicago, IL.
I mean of course he was overlooked by Rose lol Rose was and is a beast, but him and McCamey may have been neck and neck they played on the same team in highschool and Turner surpassed McCamey that final year they played together.
Now he's in the same position he may be the second best player from this year's draft he may not, I don't ever see him surpassing Wall tho, just like I dont think he will surpass Derrick Rose.
Great Point, but I disagree about him not passing Wall or Rose. Turner is very talented and has the first step of small Guards. I also think he's a mismatch because his strength is more like Small Forward.
Will not be as good as Roy...When Turner is a top-10 player and is an all-star every year message me, but until than don't say he's Roy and more. He is a fantastic player though.
I think Turner can be a multiple time all star in the NBA. Similar to Roy.
Plus they might play different positions
I like Turner's versatility, but there are to many great guards and sf's for him to be a multiple time all-star. Especially in the west. Evan isn't even like Roy besides the fact that they are versatile. Roy is one of the best shooters in the league, is a better ball handler and is practically left handed when he finishes (hence the reason why he finishes around the rim as well as anybody).
He may have the first step but he doesn't have the fluid movements that Rose and Wall have, Turner is goo man I think he will be an All-Star and all that I just think that Wall and Rose have a higher ceiling than him.
Who said he's going West? What if he goes East?
Also, Turner's ability to pass rebound and shoot will make him very good. You do not have to play defense to be a all star.
ESPECIALLY in the West. Meaning, if he goes to the West there's practically no chance. There is always a better chance in the East of being an all-star.
No Matter where he goes, I think he can be a all star.
His skills don't differ on either side. If he plays the 3- he can be a all star east or west
I saw Turner in person at Tigers' stadium this year. That guy is tall - maybe 6'8'' - and his frame is chiseled, too. He can sky but rarely does he do so.
i think he is going to be great. i just dont think he possess' the innate mind set which go to players such as brandon roy possess. great player, maybe a little too unselfish for his own good. i wish him the best, but he is no brandon roy...hope he proves me wrong. realistically, i just dont see him being a top 20 player in the league. even from an athletic stand point, he is no where near elite...average athlete on the nba level. quickness is not a concern but is not an attribute for him. there are many versatile players on the nba level who but up 10,5,5 maybe he will be one of those guys. who knows. best of luck.
he can't sky
