They've lost two in a row to teams they should beat. They dropped one to Chicago and one to Indiana. Indiana is probably the worst team in the East right now. Howard was outplayed by Hibbert. Now, they're getting ready to drop one to Toronto, another team they should beat. Howard has EIGHT turnovers. He had five vs the Pacers.
The Magic have gone into the new year with a 1-3 record. What's going on?
tezo... idk man. but d12 gtta get tht ball in tha post tho. they got added shooters from last yr, but they get it together, the celtics started out great, fell off a lil, cleveland started a lil rocky, but is now i think the best team in the east, and the magic will get tht streak going, just watch
lack of go to player. Vince is inconsistent and always will be that way as long as he plays soft and shoots fades and stuff. Dwight has taken a step backwards this year and has limiited offense post moves. Jameer has had health issues and is not the same. Lewis is not playing like an al-star.
if dwight got a few post moves, orlando is automatically the best team in the east, and if jammerr gets healthy, and d12 get some post skilss, nba finals: lakers and magic rematch
Dwight's numbers are almost identical to last season, except his points and FGA's... He's getting almost four less shots per game than last season!
I think Orlando should go into him more.
underachievement from their best players rashard, vince, and dwight...vince is a good #2 player and rashard is a good #3 guy...and dwight isnt offensively gifted enough to be their teams best player, they need to make some adjustments
most def they shood, he has the potiental to be dominate
Howard worked all summer on his moves, etc. I'm not saying he'll be Abdul-Jabar, but he should be getting more touches in the post. There aren't too many players in the league that can defend him one on one. Last season he averaged 20.3 points. Now, he's averaging 16.7 points.
come to think of it, ur rite, dwight was workin, he has improved in his post game, but i think he shood more and more, but the magic shoot to many damn 3s instead.
Tezo, you are right...I was wondering why he was only shooting 9 per game early on, but he needs to call for that damn ball, I would be telling my teammates to throw me that damn ball, he don't, he doesn't even use his size to get position ... 4-5 of those shots probably come off putbacks too!
Being a Raptors fan, I am thrilled that they won tonights game.
But on a non-bias opinion, I feel the reason for Dwight's performance drop this season is due to the fact Hedo Turkoglu is gone. He was a huge part of Howard's success because of his mismatch opportunities and playmaking ability. Even though the Magic did get a better player in Vince Carter (who I still love even though he is hated by most Raptors fans), to just analyze this year for both teams, Hedo has been a better contributer to his team on a consistancy basis.
Even though Hedo's numbers are down from last year, each game he brings the same effort and numbers regardless of their opponent and helps the team perform to their max. While the Magic haven't had Carter play consistantly day in day out, resulting in certain games becoming easy wins or pathetic losses.
is because of vince carter mainly. he hasnt score over 10 pts in the last few games. he knows hes in a shooting slump. and yet hes still shooting long 3 pointers, off balance crazy looking shots. instead of taking it to the hole more. rashard lewis is the highest paid player on this team . and yet he doesnt play like hes worth his contract. which he isnt. he cant pass, dribble or rebound. jameer has been through some injuries, and is not healthy yet. but we rush him back.
dwight has no post moves, cant make a free throw, air france shoots too many 3s. stan has gone from kicking and screaming to soft because of the players complainments (dwight howard)of him being too hard on them. this team needs to lay off the 3s a little bit, play some d , get guys like bass in the game because he brings toughness, rebounding he even gots a jump shot.
look at the lakers. It's actually good for a team to lose games in a row in mid season, it builds chareter and builds the team.
It is a mid-season lull, nothing to worry about. It was a stretch where they had five games in eight days with a flight in between each game. Now they have another one like that starting tomorrow. It is a rougher stretch of the schedule than the names lead on. It happens. Legs are weary, the excitement for the start of the season is gone, the pecking order has been established, and it is harder for vets to get up for every night with so much traveling. Everyone goes through it, and everyone gets by it.
They are a jump shooting team thats why they are playing bad right now I have seen just about all of their games this year and they go on stretches where they only shoot jumshots and when those shots arent dropping they get behind its kinda hard to work from behind all the time. Dwight Howard is also always in foul trouble so he is on the bench for long periods of time which doesnt help a team that doesnt have much of a post game. I dont know what it is but the refs dont give him any slack he gets the weakest calls called against him. He needs to try and get some kind of jump shot because his post game is still not there. And Rashard lewis has been playing pretty inconsistent I know he likes to shoot but he is 6 ft 9 he needs to get a little closer to the basket when howard is not there. Those are just some of the problems i see with this team.
