Funny... Somebody a few days

Funny... Somebody a few days ago was ready to declare him a bust and kick him out of the league. I wonder what they're saying now lol?

It's amazing to me the lack of patience fans have with young players...

Batum will be back at the

Batum will be back at the end of the month too. Things could turn around for the Blazers just at the right time.

i've been watching and he

i've been watching and he looks very good. His athleticism, his jumper either open or off the dribble. He defends. He should be able to put up 20 a night and it would be a shame if he got lost in the shuffle when guys like batum, outlaw, and fernandez come back. WHoever called him a bust is crazy.

tezo it was must be that

tezo it was must be that judged him because after 3 years of mediocre play from a top 5 pick i think its fair that he can be considered a bust...4 good games doesnt mean jack sh*t

coming out of highschool

coming out of highschool webster looked like a monster but i guess everyone does so his early stuggles were to be expected. He is a good player to have on the bench but i don't agree with them playing him more than outlaw (when both are healthy)

give me webster over outlaw,

give me webster over outlaw, although i like both. Webster is better at pretty much everything other then rebounding and posting up. And webster was out of hs so you expect it will take him a year or two to get adjusted. Add in the fact that portland is deep on the wing positions and he was out all of last year, and there is no reason to call him a bust. Dude is putting up some great numbers, and beyond numbers watch him play and you will see a guy whos flat out talented and he always has been.

1st, he was drafted sixth, not in the top five lol.

2nd, he was drafted straight out of high school.

3rd, he's coming off of a foot injury that kept him out the entire season. He broke the same foot... Twice. He was averaging 11 points and shooting 39% from 3P the season before he got injured.

4th, he's plays on a team loaded with young talent...

5th, he's ONLY 23 years of age.

Did anyone else know that

Did anyone else know that this guy was a crazy defender?? I had no clue. I thought he was a shooter/scorer. When he started defending guys like Melo, I was completely surprised... This is defiantly his coming out year.

I was always intrigued by

I was always intrigued by "The Definition." He was the first of his kind to come straight from grade school to the NBA (skilled scorer, already powerfully built, not a freak athlete). I was a bit concerned about his early lack of slashing ability and injuries, but he has greatly improved. I think he can finally become the 20-6 player that I've always envisioned.

Martell Webster

I love this kid and it's good to see people giving him some love... He ain't no bust because when given quality minutes he can be a scorer and a solid defender for a team... It's just that injuries slowed him down a bit and I don't think he'll go on averaging 20 ppg on a team filled with scorers like Roy, Outlaw, Aldridge and Bayless... I especially like to shoutout what tezo has said... It's crazy to think that this kid is in the NBA for 5 long years YET he's still 23...

GERALD GREEN/Dajuan Wagner

Webster is a perfect description of what most players say when they seem unproductive.TIME TIME TIME PT PLEASE, poor guy is playing behind the deepest Gaurd team in the league. Now what happens to outlaw and batum who all have there own talents...I think the league is getting crowded, specially at the gaurd position do you think there should be a mandatory retirement age for average talent ala Kevin Ollie, Chutcky atkins????

Dajuan ag/Gerald Green if given the time could have the same production scoring wise do not make any comments they are all the same PT is the key lets be honest.

webster

I might be the only person on the east coast with a Webster jersey haha. He needs to be traded to a team that could use a solid 2 guard and will give him consistent minutes cuz Portland just has a log jam going on right now.

The thing about Webster is

The thing about Webster is he's an extremely hard worker, plus he's a great character guy.

He has the talent and confidence. He can shoot, put the ball on the floor and pull up, slash and he can finish at the rim. I think he has the potential to be a quality 2nd option and a lockdown defender. All he needs are the minutes and opportunity, which hasn't been available with the Blazers due to the log jam on the wing and Roy turning into a superstar (Who would've thought?).

ive always liked this guy

ive always liked this guy and said as much during the beginning of summer when i thought he would be a high option for them and some people (even a portland fan) were screaming i didnt know what i was talking about because i wasnt a fan of portland and because i liked the team that they hate. but i could always see he had the talent because you could see the skills and he could shoot and create his own shoot even if it was on a smaller scale

I remember telling you that

I remember telling you that he wouldn't be the 3rd option over Oden. I feel I was right about that. Oden was turning into that team's 3rd option before going down with the injury.

oden did turn into a third

oden did turn into a third option..i actually put i was wrong about that in my apology to spencerhawes when i was saying how wrong i was about evans and the kings. i think most kings fans were wrong about that and im pretty sure all didnt think they would do as well as they did without martin. which is why i liek sports because if i was right about everything then i would hate to watch it
