When is the last time the West is this good?
I mean every team in the west can possibly make it to the playoffs except for clippers, warriors, and twolves. No one would've guessed the kings and grizzlies are going to be competitive, heck before the season even started people already started talking john wall to the kings. Besides the Lakers, no team in the west can really afford to have a losing streak.
the west is as deep as ever for sure, but I wouldn't say this is the best its been. The lakers are the only team looking like title contenders in the west and the rest just look like teams competing for the playoffs. When you have quality depth as well as numerous teams that look like they can win it all, then the conference as whole looks great. Right now, 3 of the top 4 teams are out east.
but i agree its exciting to watch because like you said no one can go on any kind of losing streak. Almost everyone is playoff caliber.
Why can't the Clippers make it? If they can stay around .500 until Griffin gets back and he plays like people think he should there is no reason they can't.
Unless Baron Davis thinks he's going to transform into Reggie Miller.
if blake griffin comes back ever and plays like a rookie of the year, the clipps have a slim chance of sneaking in, I have not counted them out as of now.
2008 when the golden state warriors didnt make the playoffs with a 48 win season.
The following teams clinched a playoff berth in the West:
Los Angeles Lakers (57–25, clinched Pacific Division title, and home court advantage for the Western Conference playoffs)
New Orleans Hornets (56–26, clinched Southwest Division title, winning conference record tiebreaker over Spurs)
San Antonio Spurs (56–26)
Utah Jazz (54–28, clinched Northwest Division title)
Houston Rockets (55–27, winning conference record tiebreaker over Suns)
Phoenix Suns (55–27)
Dallas Mavericks (51–31)
Denver Nuggets (50–32)
he was talking like one thru 12 or so. not only the top nine.
Ah yes i remember that season lol
The Bynum injury; Gasol trade. Chris Paul and the Hornets broke out, and was that the same year the Rockets had a 22-win streak?
2 years ago when the warriors had 48 wins and still missed the playoffs.
im talking about most of the west team. that year i think only 9 west teams were good.
well when you say "has west been better" i think you have to take both depth and title contenders into consideration. This year has depth, but lacks title contenders. So i wouldn't say this is the best the west has been.
We can def make the playoffs. We are what? 15-18. We havent had Griffin all season. Camby has been in and out of games. Plus Gordon missed like7 or 8 games.
i dont see it. ya'll seem to think blake will come back and just be superman. the guy has missed all of training camp. camby has played in 32 games gordan only missed a couple. the kings will get back martin who will do more then blake and once again blake is a rookie. 15-8 is the most i see him averaging and thats near playoff time when he gets into game shape. i know ya'll like the clippers but ypu have to be realistic
the clippers arent better then any pof those teams even with a rookie who has missed half the season and all of training camp
