LEBRON KNICKS VS LEBRON NETS
The thing is the Nets don't have anybody coming off the books in 2011 while the Knicks have a bunch of contracts expiring. I believe the Nets would have to resign Yi (restricted free agent in 2011). Dooling is the other expiring contract then. Add another big free agent to the Knicks roster than the tide turns in their favor.
So assuming LeBron is willing to wait 1 more year..the Knicks are the better option. Plus factor in bigger market, big stage bright lights, all the celebrities, the yankees ha, better coach, etc..
It is very possible the King heads to MSG
and there lies the problem. lebron has said in so many words hes not willing to wait. plus if they resign lee that cuts into 2011 and chandler is due for a contract at that time as well. the nets could decide to draft a pf or trade that top 3 pick in anticipation of yi leaving or do the bird rights thing if they have it
the most important positions in baketball are point and center, the nets already have that and have a good chance of bring in an even better (imo) point. they have a couple talented shooting guards, all of which are young. they just need a small forward and a power forward and if they take john wall you can trade Harris for a power forward and be set for a great title run.
you are getting annoying with this knick hate... just wait til the summer lebrons not playing in the swamp with a bunch of young kids with potential. The nets are the clippers, mets, islanders, jets of the tri state area, just a dirty little cousin that will never have the same stature (yes the knicks stink right now and have a much higher stature than the nets). Noone really cares about the nets and yi jianlian.
whatever &$#%#&@!hole in the country you live in you don't understand the aura of NYC, winning in the greatest city in the world or winning in some hell hole in cleveland is clearly not the same.
Ask Derek Jeter what its like to be a winner in NY. Ask CC for that matter who told lebron that playin in ny and cleveland is like day and night and nothing is better than winning here.
lol..where is the hate?..the only one who seems to be hating is you. the guy who makes up stuff to try to get his point across( chandler shuts down kg even though he wasnt checking him). i just asked people a question you cant get mad because they arent agreeing with the knicks being better. the knicks arent much older then the nets so im not sure why you brought up the young kids thing. newyork is just as dirty if not more then new jersey so im not sure why you mentioned that as well. yi jianlian is putting up better numbers then youre boy gallo or close so how can you talk bad about him yet talk so good about gallo. sounds like youre the one hating. and yes the knicks have a better stature but how long are the knicks fans gonna ride that train" WE WERE REAL GOOD YEARS AGO"..lol..whens the last time ya'll have been a factor?..who has been to the finals most recently?..how has both teams done in the past 5-10 years?..at some point you have to stop living off of what a team did 20 years ago
another thing..no one knows what lebron is gonna do so how you gonna act liek you know for sure..people put opinions but you always say lebron wnt go to that swampo blah blah blha. yet lebron has already said he is interested in them. who cares what cc or what other yankee says. theres no cap space so the yankees should be getting the players they get. this is the nba and there is a cap .. the knicks wouldnt no what winning is either since they dont have any winners on the team
nets went to the finals and still didnt fill up their stadium. Tree falls in the forest noone hears it. Chandler did play d on kg last year that game i watched it, and you can't count yis 4 games without counting that hes sucked his whole career. Please dont compare NY with NJ.

To be fair, the Knicks have the highest winning percentage (42.4 percent) of the five teams during the decade and also match match Memphis with three postseason appearances. But the number are deceiving, my friends, so look a little deeper. First of all, New York sported a winning record only twice in the 10-year span, and it was the first two years (’99-00 and ’00-01). Since then, they haven’t sniffed a .500 mark and that includes ’03-04 when they snuck into the playoffs as a seven-seed with a 39-43 record. There, the Nets easily handled the Knicks in four games, so that postseason appearance doesn’t even seem legitimate. Take away the first two years, and the Knicks have been irrelevant in the last eight seasons.
Aside from the numbers, the many front office moves, draft picks and trades have been all harshly criticized. Head coach Jeff Van Gundy stepped down in the middle of the ’01-02 season, while the Knicks attempted to spark the post-Ewing era by acquiring Howard Eisley and Shandon Anderson for big money. The season finished tumultuously as both players turned out to be huge busts and therefore a trend with the Knicks began which really hasn’t ended yet: New York seemed to be declining the more they raised their payroll, most evident by the ’05-06 season where they finished 23-59, good for the second worst in the League with the highest paid players. A true recipe for disaster
And even though the Knicks still ranked in the top ten in attendance this entire decade (except ’06-07), the fans have been ‘rewarded’ with a consistently pitiful product on the court. Thus, the enormous pressure of the New York sports market coupled with the long championship drought only helped make this decision easier.
Congratulations New York Knickerbockers: You are the worst team of the decade. Raise your glasses, I guess?
how long are you gonna live in the 90's?..does anyone care what a team did in the 90's
you ever hear of the saying what have you dont for me lately?
who cares that they struggled recently? all teams go through cycles, knicks bad management messed them up for a long time. However they still have one of the most supporters in the NBA and whenever they do start winning it will take a whole 15 minutes for them to be the talk of the NBA. It says a lot that they can be so messed up the last decade and still have the 2nd highest value in the nba.
im not living in anything ur the one brinign up the past. Fact is Nets have been good and NOONE CARED. Knicks have been bad but guess what the NBA things change just cuz u were bad one year doesn't mean ull be bad forever. Once the knicks do get good you honestly believe they wont be the most popular franchise in the league?
lol cycles?.. thats a hell of a cycle. now im not a nets fan and i could care less what happens im a laker fan and i cant recall a ten year cycle or being called the worst team of the decade at anytime. it says nothing about how messed up the nba is. just sad how much the knicks let down there fans with constantly stinking.. i used to think the clippers were the worst but i stand corrected
clippers, mets, islanders, jets KNICKS, st johns,
yeah no one cared even though they were put on the cover of slam when they had kidd, vanhorn, kmart, kerry kittles. you are living in the past by talking about the knicks high stature.
its sad..they have all that support yet they have been the worst team of the decade. matter of fact the last time they won a title was back in the 70's...lol. its gotta to the point where some knicks fans have to lie about stuff( CHANDLER LOCKED DOWN KG)
ON THE COVER OF SLAM?!?!? damn big things
bro you are retarded im tired of arguing with you, i clearly said they sucked for a while by cycles i meant &$#%#&@! always changes. And you didn't watch that game, I did, chandler played the 4 that game and outplayed KG. I dont care what you think.
Fact is being a savior in NYC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> being a savior in NJ
im tired of all these overrated young guys on the Nets. They get good numbers because the team blows and they have to score. Lopez on a good team would get about 14 and 8 and shoot 55% instead of 19 and 9 shooting 49% chucking and getting putbacks off awful shots. Lee sucks, he ahs shown he was a product of orlando, Harris showed that he isnt a leader and is actually not that good, Yi has 3 good games and suddenly he is the man but people seem to forget how he was borderline bust before those games. CDR wouldn't get minutes on a good team.
oh ye and twill has been the least efficient first rounder out of the draft, can't forget about him. Just because all these young players get 40+ minutes and 20+ shots doesn't mean they are good players.
that same arguement can be said abou tthe knicks.. leee chandler, gallo wont get those numbers on a good team. the knicks are a below .500 team in the east
knicks have players who shoot and score a lot, harrington, robinson etc. Gallo takes like 8-9 shots per game. Plus knicks as bad as they are have been very competitive the past month and a half because their young players got more shots and more minutes. Same can't be said about the nets.
players that average 20 or more against the knicks
1carmelo
2 LeBron James ,
3 Thaddeus Young ,
4 Luol Deng , CHI
5 Carlos Boozer , UTA
6 Corey Maggette , GSW
7 David West , NOH
8 Michael Beasley , MIA
9 Gerald Wallace , CHA
10 LaMarcus Aldridge
too be honest i like the knicks and like there future but id have to go with the nets because of the lopez and harris. they havent been doing real well but lopez is a future allstar and harris has shown he is a allstar and cdr has played just as well as wilson and the same thing goes for the asian guy. i hope the knicks go after some good players instead of just one because unless you do what the celtics did youre not gonna become great overnight
haha, i remember that issue of SLAM with the nets on the cover and the title saying they were gonna win the championship within like 3 years. Anyways, I've said it before and I'll say it again, NY, NJ, and Cle can all build a winner around Lebron within a few years. If Lebron leaves Cleavland, it's not gonna be becasue of winning. It will be about other things such as the how much loyalty he has to clevland vs him going to play in the big apple. That's what it will come down to. LeBron is gonna have a tough career choice and you are thinking in too small of terms if you just look at it like Gallo vs Jianlian or something like that.
i would like to see him as a knick.. would rather see him as a heat or bull:)...people dont talk much about miami but they have a chance. i think he will stay though. maybe peopel dont believe him win he says he wants to win but i do because of the money hes already gotten. usually players get to that point where they wanna win after they have done just about everything else which he has. some talk about market but whats a bigger market then asia?..not ny,nj, or miami and peopel forget that the asian business group bought a percentage of the cavs or will buy i cant remeber which. if he wants to wait and doesnt mind rebuilding i just dont see where you can go wrong when a team has 2 allstars and could possible get the number one pick in the draft. i think its gonna come down to what the cavs do during and after the season as far as getting players to come to cleveland since they have lebrons bird rights they can sign another allstar
beasy-i agree he wants to win, but when you look at the teams bidding for him, all of them are capable of putting talent around lebron. He is 25 years old and this decision will be about more then just winning. And I just don't see him and Wade playing together. They are too similar and I don't think either guy would be willing to be the sidekick once the games are on the line.
