Cleveland Cavs/Washington Wizards TRADE talk.

I have been known for saying LeBron will never win a championship in Cleveland.  That was probably a dumb thing to say because you never know when a trade may occur, different free agent signings, etc..  Crazy things happen in the nba.

Anyways there is talk that the Wizards are definitely wanting to trade Jamison &or Butler.  The Cavs are interested in Jamison & they may be interested in Butler too but I haven't heard that yet.

I haven't heard any exact rumored deals so I made up one of my own:

Personally I think this would be a great time for the Cavs to get rid of Varejao & that dumb contract.

Wizards get: Varejao, Big Z, Anthony Parker, 2nd Round Pick

Cavs get: Jamison, Caron Butler

Why would the Wizards do this?  They are ready to blow the team up.  Major changes need to be made.  Parker has a resonable contract & he is a good shooter which Washington could use.  Varejao gives them a change in the post.   Big Z has an expiring contract. Jamison has 2 years left after this season getting paid a ton.  As you can see they save cash big time.  They would still have a competitive team this season.  Granted Parker, Varejao, & Big Z aren't great but they can still be serviceable.  They may breath some life into this team that seems to have given up at this point.

Why would the Cavs do this?  Well to get rid of Varejao of course haha!  Big Z's contract is valuable but they can let hm go since they are getting a valuable PF in Jamison.  Jamison would be a HUGE upgrade over Varejao.  Sure he makes a lot of money but who cares, he is worth it for now.  Butler can also take some pressure off LeBron.  He can come off the bench or start at SG or play some SF while LeBron plays some minutes occasionally at PF.  This allows the Cavs to play a variety of lineups....causing mismatches.  Anthony Parker is just a throw in to make the salaries match up.  He won't really be missed, I personally think West is better than him. Cavs also have another good shooter anyways to bring off the bench in Gibson.  This would give the Cavs a legit shot at winning a title for the first time ever since LeBron has been there.  Mo, West, Gibson, Butler, LeBron, Moon, Jamison, Hickson, Shaq...that is loaded.

The trade machine said this trade was successful.  As a result of the trade it predicts the Wizards would win 6 less games while the Cavs would win 3 more trades.  Overall the Cavs are getting the better deal in terms of win but the Wizards save a lot of cash which they want.  Seems fair to me.

No way...I haveta believe

No way...I haveta believe they can get more for those two players then an expiring contract and some mediocre players who arent even young

I think if they get traded it will be one an at a time and only one will be traded this season, if they decide to blow the team up it will be offseason

agree!

yea for Jamison AND Butler they gonna need more than those role players and 2nd round pick. Maybe some young players (daniel gibson, jj hickson, the rights to eyenga can be swapped with one or more players in your deal. 1st round pick can be added to the deal instead of 2nd round pick. I doubt both go in one deal but you never know what happens. As a Wizards fan we need to blow up this big 3 and I have been saying it for a long time.... I rather see Jamison go than Butler, cause Jamison is a huge defensive liability. For trading these players I hope we can get either some young talent even though we have so much or a solid veteran that brings some toughness and score in the paint.

You guys are overrating the

You guys are overrating the value of Jamison & Butler.

First of all Butler's play has dropped off significantly this season.

You all do realize that Jamison is 33 years old!  He also has a couple years left on his contract after this season. Next season he will make $13 million, the year after that he will make $15 million. Not many teams are willing to take on his contract. Only a team like the Cavs that are a solid piece or two away from a title would be willing to trade for him.

They don't have nearly the trade value you all think.

varojao is so important to

varojao is so important to what the cavs are though. he does a ton of stuff that doesnt show up in the box score. hes really important to that team, although he is overpaid. but the wizards would never take that contract. i dont think anyone will

i see them doing it to make

i see them doing it to make sure he stays..its alot more important for the cavs to keep lebron then it is for the knicks, nets, miami to get him. all those teams will still get someone and the knicks still have sold out gasmes without lebron nets have harris lopez and a good draft pick coming, miami has beasley, wade cap space and more then likely boozer or bosh, the cavs will do what ever it takes even a lil cheating if they can get away with it to keep lebron

No deal in this.

No way is the Cavs going to give up both Varejao and Big Z. That means they will have to count on Shaq to do all the dirt down low? Shaq is only used to play against Howard in the Playoff. They are going to rest Shaq as much as possible and by trading Vaerjao and Big Z, Shaq is not going to get any reason come playoff time. I see them trading one of those Bigs but not both, no way.

Cavs can't let Z go, Z

Cavs can't let Z go, Z should be in Cleveland till the end, Shaq and Z are finally beggining to somehow complement each other and Mike Brown has learnt to use them
There has been too much trade TALK, I can't wait to see an actual trade happen

Even if LeBron goes and this

Even if LeBron goes and this trade happens, they still have a pretty good team with Jamison, Williams, and Butler leading the way.

i like the deal but i think

i like the deal but i think the wizards would need to get JJ Hickson instead of Varejao. They are trying to get rid of money and as you said Andy has a long and significantly overpaid contract. Without Lebron being double teamed Varejao is a very bad player.
Caron's play has been down this year but that is expected when a guy who takes 20 shots a game comes back from injury. without gilbert, they ran the offence through caron and that inflated his numbers.

thats

what mo williams is for and butler isnt to bad obviously lebron should not being shooting 3's because he is the one creating the open 3's by driving and if they really need 3point shooting thats what gibson and west are for

that one player and caron

that one player and caron butler shoots 30percent from three. and who are the cavs gonna do when they play orlando or boston and shaq gets hurt or is playing hurt( and we all know that will happen)? putt j.j hickson on howard?..or even hortford? jamisons defense is lacking as well so theres no help down low. and butler isnt checking 2 guards. do you really want lebron getting tired out chasing ray allen around screens all day
