For Each Position
List 3 things you would want from a player from that position
PG- Pass first mentality, High A/T Ratio, and ability to hit open Jumpers and 3s.
SG- Can shoot off the pick and off the dribble, can drive to the basket, create own shot
SF- Ability to do everything no matter what the situation is. Drives to the basket well. Not afraid to take a hit.
PF- Strong post up game, strong rebounding prowess, getting the the stripe
C- Shot blocker, stay out of foul trouble, and finishes around the basket.
There are more than 3, but I wanted to answer just to start the topic and see what others have to say. Again, this was very tough.
Passing (Court Vision)
Ability to play multiple positions
Post and perimeter D
Shot Blocking and Post D
first i want defense from all positions, so now I'll name 2 other qualities i like to see:
sg-shooting, athleticism and ability to finish
sf-shooting, athleticism and ability to finish
i like bigs that are more then just stiffs who are tall. When bigs can slide their feet and gaurd guys or run the court it helps the whole team play better. Centers also need to be physical and able to hold ground so strength means a lot there.
I agree with perez, defense is a must, but this is what I would like if I were building a team.
pg- decision making, defense, court vision
sg- great shooter ( especially off screens ), lock down perimeter D, ability to get to the rim
sf - mid-range game, good rebounder for his position, defense
pf- great rebounder, defense in the mold of KG, versitility
c- finishes sfrong around the basket, rebounding, shot blocking
