Top 5 PG's.
Derrick Rose is not the 3rd best PG in the league .
jason kidd and russell westbrook and better than derrick rose. if your logic for Derrick Rose is how well he dunk then james white is the best to ever play the game.
Tyreke Evans can do anything Derrick Rose can do.
Westbrook is better than Rose right now.
Top 5 are .
Paul
D-Will
Nash
Parker\Rondo
Those 2 are interchangable.
how is westbrook better than rose. theres no way, Rose Rookie of the year ring a bell to anyone. if westbrook was in roses' place last yr, the bulls woodnt make the playoffs
Rose has uncanny improvisation. Not only that, Rose can put pressure on opposing big-men. When you get a Point Guard that keeps opponents on their heels, then you got something special. When I look at Rose play, one thing stands out, his purposeless ability to make his teammates look bad at shooting the basketball because they're always too open, to a fault. Trust me, Rose would be too efficient with Nowitzki in the same lineup. Right now, unfortunately, Bulls have no credited shooters.
he got rookie of the year because he took a lot more shots. westbrook is a better finisher and passer, rose is a better shooter by a little but he still can't shoot, westbrook one of the best perimeter defenders in the league while rose is ok on defence.
1. CP3 - He has separated himself from D-Will in my opinion. He's not just an elite point guard. He's the 4th best player in the league.
2. D-Will - An elite point guard, but doesn't get the attention because he plays in Utah.
3. Nash - His demise was greatly exaggerated. He's an MVP candidate.
4. Mr. Big Shot - He's been out with an injury, so it's been "out of sight, out of mind", but he's still a top five point guard.
5. Parker - Had some injuries and has gotten off to a slow start this season, but I think it'd be disrespectful to move him outside the top five. He, not Tim Duncan, has been carrying the Spurs the last couple of seasons.
no evans wouldnt be up there because hes a sg.. rondo still doesnt get the credit he deserves only because his scoring isnt as high which makes no sense when yure talking about a pg. makes more sense when youre talking about a sg. rondo scores when he has too. is a much better passer, defender, rebounder and better at getting steals. so because rose scores mor epoints hes a better pg?
westbrook is a better passer and defender than rose which is why he is better. Also how can you say the bulls wouldn't have made the playoffs last year with westbrook? have you or anyone else seen westbrook as a go to guy besides in highschool? Anyways, in that one playoff series Rose had 2 great games then sucked for he rest of the series, Ben Gordon was what made that series great.
Has no way of getting a high number of assist. Nobody on the Bulls can hit jumpers consistently. And what series were you watching? Ben Gordon had 1 great game and that was it...Rose was the main reason why they took that series to 7.
Well ,
that was last year.
When i mean now, i mean this year.
Westbrook: 16 ppg, 7.3 apg, 5 rpg. 18-15 record in the West.
Rose: 18.4 ppg, 5.7 apg, 3.5 rpg. 14-17 record in the east.
Yes, Rose averages more points, but he's also the #1 option on his team, when Westbrook isnt.
Both are athletic, both are improving as shooters, but I think westbrook is a better passer and rebounder than Rose.
Their scoring is pretty even.
Westbrook is also a way better defender.
He is a triple-double threat each night.
Westbrook is a borderline all star this year, and has definetly been playing better than Rose .
Rondo isn't a top five point guard yet in my opinion because he can't shoot. Not at all. I could make a pass, but it's his free-throws. I watched him miss three (one he took as a practice shot) free-throws vs the Clippers and the Celtics lose the game. I find it hard trusting a point guard during the clutch, when he can't shoot free-throws.
lol..march 18...last year. what about the other games they played each other( not that it matters because its last year) those games dont matter?..or what about other pg who have played better then rose in a head to head match up?..are they better then rose then?
Stop being biased. Westbrook shoots LESS than .40% and averages more turnovers. He makes bad decisions. Why is it acceptable that he shoots less than .40% and is turnover proned?
Rose is a better player. Could you imagine if Rose played with Durant? He'd probably average 9 apg easily...And like Tezo said, Westbrook shoots under 40% and turns the ball over quite a bit...Doesn't sound like good decision making to me.
we all knw tht westbrook and rose are real good players.but rose has a better impact on the game thn westbrook. im not takin anythin away from westbrook, but when rose plays, idk... rose is a better scorer tho
I'll give Westbrook the edge in rebounding and defending, but that's it right now. Westbrook plays with a player who averages almost 30 points. He's going to have higher assists. He has a better team.
Rose does everything else better.
Westbrooks assists dont come on passes to durant where he just shoots,
Westbrook has an amazing ability to get into the paint, and then kick or dish off to a big man inside for a dunk.
Or pull up for a mid range jumper.
Westbrook has something like
18 points,13 assists and 9 rebounds last night,
Durant was getting locked down by Mbah a Moute.
Westbrook was the best player on the thunder in the 4th Q and OT last night.
THey play eachotehr tomorrow night, i plan to watch.
westbrook didnt tht good, he shot 6-16 from the field, and durant was easily the best player 4 the thunder. even with mbah moute on his back, he still shot 12-24 from the field, and made big shots, though they lost
Durant was better in the first 3 quarters.
Westbrook was the best player on the Thunder in the 4th Quarter and OT .
yeah i do .
but i watched the game on raptors tv last night lol,
dont know why the raptors game wasnt on that channel.. lol
i live about 40 minutes from toronto
1. Chris Paul
2.Deron Williams
3.Chauncey Billups
4.Steve Nash
5.Rajon Rondo
And Im Being Nice....I Actually Think Rondo Could Be Higher.
As For The Rose And Westbrook Discussion, It's Kind Of Hard To Decide Who Is Better, Both Are Freak Athletes At The Point Position, Rose Is Just A Little Quicker And Alot Faster In The Open Floor, But Besides That They Are About Equal To Me
Yup. I also recall Rose making Westbrook and Collison look silly during the Final Four. They're trying to make Westbrook a Point Guard - which he isn't by nature - and they'll do the same to Avery Bradley. Westbrook is overrated.
Billups should be eating noodles and sipping coffee. That guy is done with. I have much respect for him because unlike most Guards, Billups found his way into the league without much support.
I guess people are ignoring the fact that Rondo can't shoot. Not from mid-range... Not from 3P... Not even from the free-throw line. That alone should tell you that he benefits at an extreme level from playing with three hall of famers...
rondo isnt the best of shooters thats for sure but does scoring more and shooting a better percentage make some one a better pg..should passing, defense, stealing factor in? and should the fact that the teams were basically evenlly matched in the playoffs yet rondo showed that when he needs to he can score?. and ray allen although good would not be a hall of famer with the game he's had since hes been in boston.
again , this is last year.
what i said was, westbrook is better, this year .
I think Rondo is a great point guard based on his playmaking ability, defense and overall play. I have him right outside of the top five, at six.
He can get buckets when he has to... He's great at breaking his man off the dribble and getting layups. I just think his inability to shoot, especially from the free-throw line is a terrible weakness for a point guard who has the ball a lot. If he didn't play with the Big Three, he'd struggle significantly. I don't think Rondo could carry a team or even deal with that kind of pressure. Tony Parker has literally carried the Spurs the last couple of seasons.

1.) Chris Paul: Lead Guard by every sense. Passer. Stealer. Vocal leader.
2.) Deron Williams: explosive big guard with sneaky athleticism. Can put runs together that are brutal. Very efficient at getting the ball where it's suppose to be.
3.) Derrick Rose: "look out, Derrick Rose with the slam." That explains why he's three. Rose improvisation and quick strength allows him to be unguarded. Once he gets the jumper, watch out!
4.) Steve Nash: setting a trend for athletically-challenged Point Guards should be awarded to Nash. Gracious and fluidity in the open court defines Nash. Has top-notch feel for creating shots, while probing the lane.
5.) Rajon Rondo: stat-stuffer, that's Rondo, he does so much but gets little recognition because of the big three. Steals. Rebounds. Assists. He gets it done with solidarity.
