Darington Hobson is the most underrated prospect for the upcoming draft. Don't be surprised if he goes before pick 21. Last night's stat line: 15 points. 8 rebounds. 7 assists. And 5 steals. This guy is the real deal and better than half the guys we talk about. I will continue pumping up his profile on here!
I've seen him play a few times now and I see a lot of Nicolas Batum in him. He's a long 6'7" southpaw with a pretty good handle and good athleticism. His range is decent, but his IQ is what stands out, for his size he has pretty solid vision. ESPN uses the big PG cliche comparison in Penny Hardaway, but in no way is he the elite athlete Penny was in his early days or does he have that superstar potential.
Nic Batum is a solid comparison and I think it fits as far as his tools are concerned. But Hobson is a WAY more aggressive player than Batum is and that's why Darington will have a bigger impact. If Hobson has the heart, he could be what T-Mac was supposed to be, with less scoring.
