Now that it's almost 2010: Where is Lebron going?

Lebron just dropped a sneaker that said " I love NY" on the bottom. It made me think

Where is this guy going?

As a Knicks fan, I'm biased. I think he will land in a Knicks Uni but there's a couple reasons why and you may call me crazy. I already have negative point so no reason not to go all out.

Lebron James as this point doesn't have the "focus" of Kobe Bryant. Think Kobe and Shaq. Kobe was the kid, who had a couple commercials. He was kinda cheesy in the sense of he never really connected with the fans. With Shaq, he had all the talents and with the riches came the rewards. Shaq loves the rewards but more the limelight. He was seen as the cool big man with rapping, comedy and movies. He WANTED off the court opps while Kobe was someone who focus so much on Basketball- He couldn't be denied those endorsements as his popularity when up. I feel Lebron is more Shaq right now. He must lean towards Kobe.

Does the King want to be the King of Cleveland? I don't know. The Cavs have held up thier part but I don't know if the King wants to be there. Sure, he was born there but I think LeBron is thinking about joining New York. Yes, he will make more money in Cleveland in his NBA contract and the Cavs have somewhat a better overall roster then the Knicks but that's more because of the King and Cleveland has been "Stagnant" since LBJ's 3rd season. The Cavs won't make the big move. After Hughes spurned them and was a bust addition. They go for the good yet bad pieces ( Shaq? Moon? Parker? West?) It's sad to think but the best player LBJ played with was Carlos Boozer in 2004. At least the Knicks would have the GUTS to make some dangerous move for some decent to all star type players ( Francis, Randolph)

The Knicks can provide James with something he won't have in Cleveland: A chance to build his own Franchise. Think I'm Wrong? Everyone loves to get on NY because of the Eddy Curry and Jared Jefferies' deals. But uh....they expire in 2011. Not only does that give you a exp contract for a team who wants to get cap space, The King can get a instant weapon to go with him in 2011 if the Knicks end up keeping those contracts. Throw on the that the Knicks still have all thier execptions for the 2010 and 2011 seasons ( Mid Level, Trade and Bi-Annual) and could add some talent. Also, Let's not act like Gallo and Chandler are slouches ( 2 of 6 remaining players under contract in 2010)

I think LBJ will pick NY ( because im biased) but im not a " unrealistic" NY fan, I do my HW. What do you guys think?

As it stands... The Knicks

As it stands... The Knicks won't have enough to sign LeBron and another all-star caliber free-agent. If they can trade Curry or Jeffries by the deadline, I think their chances increase.

The Knicks will have money the summer of 2011, but what about the 2010-2011 season? The six players under contract for next season as it stands are Curry, Jeffries, Gallinari, Hill, Chandler and Douglas. Even if they re-sign Lee and add LeBron on that squad, they wouldn't be a top team in the East. I don't see LeBron going from a team that is among one of the best in the NBA to one that's no where close to competing for a championship.

Yea but your forgetting Mid

Yea but your forgetting

Mid Level Exception. That can add another good talent to NY.

Also, we have a 2010 HIGH 2nd round pick. In a draft with so much talent- don't underestimate that pick.

Where ever LBJ goes in 2010...he's not winning a title in 2010.

plus...the Knicks might be

plus...the Knicks might be able to add a all-star caliber player during the 2010 season.

Who wouldn't want

Eddy Curry's 11 mil exp deal & Jefferies' 8 mil exp contract?

You're right... The Knicks

You're right... The Knicks do have all of their Mid Level Exception AND Bi-Annual exception remaining.

You also make a good point about the Knicks trading for an all-star caliber player when Curry and Jeffries contracts are in the final year.

I do think they have a chance. It just would look a whole lot better if they were able to move either Curry or Jeffries by the deadline.

I agree. I think we might

I agree. I think we might move Jefferies because he's looking like a solid defender and can defend multiple positions.

I would not be surprised if a team like Orlando or San Antonio adds him as a defender for a playoff run

I think LeBron is going to
I think LeBron is going to New York.  That is my best guess.  The Nets have a slight chance.

It Lebron leave Cleveland it

It Lebron leave Cleveland it will probably be for New York. Cleveland's offense is limited and their Gm's suck.

Lebron's staying

Lebron is just teasing everybody to get them hyped up and buy his "NY" merchandise. There is no way he will leave an established championship contender for a new team with no chemistry. Yall know LeBron's is very self conscious about his image, how does that make him look to fans, former teammates, Skip Bayless?

i dont see it theit whole

i dont see it theit whole team is crap if Lee leaves (they wont have near enough money if they sign Lebron) and Gallerino is a sf right now a better fit with someone like Wade Harringtons gone i dont see it and even if they do get him why would they be able to get big free agents? sure ite New York but its kindve a franchise that hasnt done anything lately and with bad ownership and o coach although he might be good a lot of players dont get along with him i dont see it i dont think they would sign here they didnt in cleveland and why in New York? i mean Lebron would be getting all the endorsement deals already.

Other than home what does Cleveland have to offer?

Lebron only has one reason stay in Cleveland and thats because he was born in Akron. I don't think Lebron cares about the extra money Cleveland can pay him. He could easily make that back living in a larger market with endorsements and so on.

Danny Ferry tries to add pieces to help Lebron but how many of them have turned out well.
1. Delonte West when head is on straight is good compliment, and Mo Williams is solid player who looks better because he is playing with Lebron.

Things that didnt work out:
1 Larry Hughes: He had one good year with The Wiz and then Ferry signs him to a large deal that he never lives up too. He needed the ball for slashing and attacking off the dribble, no standing and waiting for Lebron pass him the ball
2. Anderson Varejao: he is solid player with energy and heart, bu why pay him almost 10 million dollars a year to be energy guy? Money could have been used elsewhere, maybe a PF with some range to open lanes for Lebron, or another SG who can shoot and play defense?
3. Shaq: I know he was acquired to stop Dwight Howard, but all he does is clog lane for most part. Another person who I dont feel was worth the money spent.
4. Wally Szezrbiak: We all know this one didn;t work out as planned lol.]
4. Mike Brown as the coach had killed this team on offense, they don't nearly get out and run like they should. I will give him credit for helping Lebron become a better defender.

I can see him landing with the Knicks or Nets, both have young rosters that have potential to become better.

Knicks:
They have contracts that expire after next season in Curry and Jefferies. I think could be possible to move Jefferies toa contender for some spare parts and maybe draft pick in the 2nd round. Dantoni style would be perfect for Lebron. He would have shooters in Gallinari, Douglas and Duhon if he gets shoot back this season. He would have young post player In Jordan Hill who he could help develop. This team would not be ready contend for title his first season, but in the years after they could we some well timed pickups and their young guys imporving. Chandler is someone who could also flourish with Lebron in uptempo game

Nets:
They have plenty young players that are up and coming such as Brook Lopez, Yi, Terrance Williams, and Courtney Lee.
They will have a new arena in couple years, a new owner with plenty of money to spend, and Jay Z who is good friend with Lebron. Devin Harris is also a borderline all star and would flourish with Lebron. They also have a great shot at having a top 3 pick in the next years draft. There strating lineup could be.
PG Devin Harris
SG Courtney Lee or use 1st round pick Or CDR
SF Lebron James
PF Yi or use Ist round pick
C Brook Lopez

Bench:
Terrance Williams, Keyon Dooling, Jarvis Hayes, Josh Boone . I think they would be best off using that 1st round pick on a PF unless they get number 1, than be hard turn down John Wall.

If I am Lebron I would o to the Nets and look to build a winner for next 8 to 10 years.

for leaving his hometown

for leaving his hometown team for the big city. he's suppose to make cleveland somewhere that will be known as winners and not a place that doesnt win rings. thats why he's the "chosen 1" he was suppose to turn this city's fortunes around

he's gonna stay and yeah hes

he's gonna stay and yeah hes prob just messing with knicks fans because there are some( alot on this site) who take anything he says about ny and runs with it. i think miami would have a better shot since its a better place to live, better chance at a title, and they have a hole at the sf. lets be honest gallo isnt a pf and lebron is best suited at the 3 which he seems to like . the cavs have the upper hand and its a big upper hand right now but it gets alot smaller if they dont do anything this summer and be honest how many of you think they wont go wayyyyy over the cap just to keep lebron??..especially with those rich asian guys backing the team
