Could Kansas, Texas, and Kentucky All Have 3 First Rounders Apiece?
These teams are crazy talented. So talented that by June 2010 they could have a total of NINE players go in the first round.
Texas: Pittman, James, and Bradley. This team is loaded, but two of their stars are borderline firsters at best. I don't think Pittman or James is gonna make the top 30, but if they roll through the second half like they have the first, they could improve their stock enough. Bradley is a Westbrook clone.
Kentucky:Wall, Cousins, Patterson. Cousins will be between 19-30 based on potential and Patterson has a small chance at the end of the lottery if he stays consistent and produces big in the tournament.
Kansas:Taylor, Aldrich, Henry. They don't have a top 10 pick on their team, but they definitely have some NBA starters. Taylor is Mario Chalmers' basketball twin with more athleticism. Don't sleep on him. Bill Self has been hiding him all year.
i think Xavier could easily rise into top10, especially after draft combine and some workouts
Xavier has been more and more impressive to me as the season goes on. If he keeps improving I could see a solid team that got lucky in the lotto drafting him no higher than nine. He could be a really good contributor but he is NOT a franchise player that you would draft in the single digit range.
pittman could easily rise to be a 1st rounder.. man is a beast.. also henry should be a sure fire top 10 pick.. if he falls beyond that someone is getting a steal
i hope bradley, cousins stays both have potential to be very very good with another year of seasoning. pittman will be lotto after going to the workouts in better shape. thats the one thing that i think would keep him out of the lotto
I think Kansas has a certified 3, I dont see Henry or Aldrich staying another year, and with Collins being the 2nd-3rd best PG in this draft class...he'll find a way to slide into the 1st
As for Texas, coming into the season I really liked Avery Bradley, but hes been a huge dissapointment, he has the tools, but isnt consistent enough....he dropped 20 on UNC, but can only drop 7 on GarnerWebb? Pittman is a bordlerline first, he'll either be selected late 1st, or early 2nd, same for James, imo.
Wall is a given, I dont think Cousins will stay another year, and Patterson can be a mid-1st also.
magic you have to understand the garner webb game was wayyyy in hand early so there was no need for him to do much on top of the fact that texas may be the deepest team in the ncaa. if you look at him and cousins bradley has stepped it up in big games conpared to cousins. you gotta look at more then just points also. bradleys defense is already top notch and his understanding of the game is also very high. texas goes deep at the guard position so you wont see bradley scoring awhole lot of points. chances are everyone goes out early but only wall is ready to contribute right away
Kansas: I think they will have 3 1st rounders...I see Aldrich, Henry and Collins going in the 1st round. Collins is the only one with a chance of slipping out of the 1st round, but I don't see that happening as I think he'll step up big time in the tourny (he's got a knack for stepping up in crunch time) to solidiy his spot in the 1st round.
Kentucky: I think they'll only have 2 1st rounders. Wall is the consensus 1st pick as we speak, and Patterson will be a lottery pick if he keeps up his steady play. I think Cousins will return for his Sophomore season, as he should know he's not played great against good competition, and that he's got to develop a better understanding of the game before he's a true NBA player...The tools are there, he's just not mentally there.
Texas: I think they'll have 2 1st rounders. I see Bradley returning for his Sophomore season, where he'll be the focal point of the squad and can show NBA teams what he really can offer them. Pittman has be dominant and with his size he'll be a 1st rounder, possibly mid-1st round if he gets even more in tuned condition-wise. Damion James' development of a perimeter game, the only thing holding him back, makes him a legit 1st round prospect, as he had the physical tools already and will be a great defender in the NBA.
couldnt have said it better my self iggy. i think we may never see how good bradley will be in college the way we didnt see how good westbrook could have been because texas also has a potentially nba player in jacovin brown and a pretty good pg in jai lucas. i think nba scouts will see how good he is but most people on here wont because he wont be puttin gup scoring numbers that they expect.
That Guy has too much talent to let him fall out of the Top Five. He's a Scorer and he have solid defense. if he decide to go pro. I hope he lands with point guard with a pass first mentality.
My Top Five Draft picks in order.
1. John Wall - Nets
2. Derrick Favors - Pistons
3. Xavier Henry - TWolves
4. Wesley Johnson - Warriors
5. Evan Turner - Pacers
I Strongly Believe the Nets will get the first pick. Firstly, because they are they worst team. Secondly, John Wall is a lot more ready than any other players in this draft. Finally, it will be on fair because they gave Cleveland Lebron, they gave Rose to Chicago and They Dwight Howard to Orlando because it's his home city or town.
dwight is from atlanta not orlando. and no one knows whos gonna get the top pick. the lotto works through chance. the nets will have the best chance but they could end up not getting the top pick. personally i dont think favors goes number 2 because he hasnt been playing like a number 2 pick or even a top five. id pick wesley over him right now
i would say the only players that are not likely to get in the first round are taylor & bradley
I never understood why Tyshawn Taylor was so hyped up this summer....He doesn't seem like anything special as a prospect or player. He reminds me of a poor man's Jrue Holiday, which isn't very high praise. Even though Holiday is an average NBA player with the potential to be a decent starter.
