Troy Murphy

Troy Murphy's trade stock is rising over the last 5 games he is averaging 17.4ppg and 11.6 rpg he could seriously help a championship caliber team and also remove a big contract from Indy. What do you think he is worth and where would he fit?

I like Cavs for expiring contract of Big Z or Shaq.

lol

Yeah bird is not letting his token white boy go, but on the real he could help Portland or the Suns. Could help Clevland, but I hate Clevland so naw don't want him there.

Larry Bird won't trade

Larry Bird won't trade Murphy.

For one, he's our best big man right now... He's our best player until Granger returns.

For two, trading him for cap relief wouldn't make sense. It's not like shedding his contract would put us in the position to land a great free-agent this summer. The Pacers won't be players in free-agency until the summer of 2011 when Murphy, Dunleavy, Ford, Foster and Tinsley come off the books.

No it wouldn't tezo but it

No it wouldn't tezo but it would bring down our cap and it would mean that we would have less luxury tax to pay. As it stand the Pacers need to pay 8million over the cap next season with Murphy on the books and the Pacers are losing money at the moment so every dollar would help.

Murphy

He isn't the Pacer's "token white boy." They have other white players, and he is their best big man.

True, but I don't see Larry Bird as the "salary dumping" type.

obviously you gusy don't

obviously you gusy don't watch pacers games. don't let murphy fool you.. he is a team leading -240 soem in the +/- category and his rebounds are garbage ..... probably 5 % offensive the rest are the defensive rebounds off of free throws and such. HE IS NOT THAT GOOD.

It's more like 18% are

It's more like 18% are offensive. Which isn't great, but he's still the teams best rebounder and he's a great three point shooter.

Am I the only one who thinks that +/- stat is garbage. Murphy's on a bad team, and not one player is going to change that (except for maybe 2 or 3 in the league), so obviously his +/- isn't going to be good if his TEAM is losing all the time. If anything they should use a +/- per minute stat, because just looking at +/- a player who plays 5 garbage minutes per game on a terrible team would easily have a better stat then the franchise player on that same team.
