Blake Griffin Injury Update
Wednesday, December 23, 2009 - 1:15 pm (PT)
Los Angeles Clippers rookie forward Blake Griffin underwent a CT Scan and MRI of the stress fracture of his left patella yesterday.
In addition to his continued strength and conditioning work, Griffin has been cleared to begin running on an AlterG Anti-Gravity treadmill beginning today and is expected to begin running on a normal full-body weight treadmill next week.
Based on expected progression, Griffin is expected to be cleared for a return to basketball related activity in approximately three weeks.
Griffin, the first overall selection in the 2009 NBA Draft, suffered a non-displaced stress fracture of his left patella during the Clippers’ last preseason game vs. the New Orleans Hornets on Friday, October 23rd.
There are a lot of Greg Oden "haters" on this website. While I know Griffin doesn't have as bad of an injury history as the big G.O... I wonder what the Oden "haters" think of Griffin? Is he injury prone because he fractured his patella just dunking? Anyone?
Why would you give me a negative...Answer my question please...don't be a coward...I didn't even state a feckin opinion what could you possibly disagree with??
Wow...You people are a joke
Good point. I'm a fan of both players. I think it's funny that people down Oden for getting injured "without being touched", but that same thing basically happened to Griffin. Now you can even add Pryzbilla to the list.
I'm actually a little nervous that Griffin could become injury prone. People forget that he already had a knee injury that requried surgery during college. Then he fractures his patella by just landing after a dunk. He's a wreckless and high energy player, so it's definitely a concern. I'm praying he isn't though... That's the last thing we need is another one of our #1 picks' future being derailed by injuries.
tezo, he actually got injured when he banged knees with craig smith in practice. that was just a re-aggravation of it.
Thank you Tezo, that was the only point I was trying to make. I am also a big fan of both...
You've stated everything I was thinking already though ; )
Griffin as you said plays wreckless and always with his motor at 110% which is definitely what you want out of your players but Blake did have some injury issues at Oklahoma. Just wanted to bring to light that it seems some people get down on Oden simply because someone by the name of Kevin Durant was drafted behind him.
How soon until people question if Tyreke and Jennings should have been drafted before Griffin? Let's hope not soon at all. Both players have everything going in there favor and I hope that both have successful, All-Star caliber careers because when I hear both speak and watch them play, I can see they want it.
That's right... I forgot about that. Craig Smith was on a rampage lol. He injured like two-three of his own teammates during the summer.
You don't call him Rhino for nothing tezo...LOL
I thought it was just because he looked like one! Lol.
