Eric Maynor on The Oklahoma City Thunder
Wat yall think
Good move by the Thunder. They get a quality back-up point guard who compliments Westbrook well for a European guy who will probably never even play in the league. I'm still baffled that the Jazz traded him. He played welll when Williams went down with an injury, and is yet another gem in this loaded point guard class of 2009.
i think he can be a great addition to the already talented OKC team. There point guard situation is set for years to come and because of westbrook's great D you could play them together in spurts or in up tempo situations.
Utah what the hell was that?
Utah wanted to get rid of Harpring's contract, which they did. In order to do that, they had to get rid of someone valuable to the team. Maynor. I think this is a good situation for OKC as like 'the I in win' says, the pg situation is set for basically a very long time. They just got younger, and some might say they got more talented. Maynor is a player. If he gets 20-25 minutes a game, he can do some damage. I like how they have 4 rookies on the team that came from the 1st round (Ibaka from last year, Harden, Mullens, and now Maynor). These guys are set, especially if they end up getting Cousins or Aldrich in the draft next year.
amazing move by the thunder. maynor is an legit backup point guard that does it all. love the move thunder. i hate the fact that livingston didnt work out for them but this move will be regretted for a long time by the jazz
Maybe the Jazz will pick up Livingston to replace Maynor. He would probably help the Jazz so that they dont have to give Price alot of minutes.
if they intended on doing that he would have just been included in the deal
Not if the numbers didnt match up.....
I like the move they needed a good backup PG because kevin ollie and Shawn Livingston were not the answers I like his game I understand why the jazz did it because of money issues but they gave up a pretty good young player and he is gonna fit well with the thunder.
The thunder haven't traded Ollie yet, but they need to by the All Star break.
I think OKC stole a good piece to they're future. These guys are building they're team by the Portland business model and doing a very good job. The Jazz are giving away a lot of first round picks with little or no time to observe will they improve(see M. Almond)they kind of gave up on the guy before he ever got a real chance to play and they have done it again. I see they really wanted to part ways with Harpring's contract and I dig that but you must build for the future. Hey what do I know I'm sure there is a underlying reason why they did this that makes sense they are a well run club so I can't beat them up that much. I'm sure when the smoke clears they will make a lot of sense with this move I hope.
I think the Thunder got a steal in Maynor, but why would the Jazz have drafted Maynor in the first place only to trade him a 3rd of the way into the season. Makes me wonder.
