Eric Maynor traded to OKC
Don't know much about it, just saw on Twitter. Good move by the Thunder, I believe they released...Wilks & Livingston
Yeah i just saw it thats stupid move on utah they need a quality backup for williams and maynor was doing that well in his limited playing time thats a good move on the thunder part.
Why did they make that move, Maynor was playing soild as a back up. Only time will tell why they did that.
WOW....surprising, I was REALLY starting to like Maynor behind Williams, not sure I like him so much behind Westbrook...but when Williams went down, Maynor was producing big time
and WTF, it was in exchange for the draft rights to some european that will probably never see the NBA...the Knicks could of gave them more value! (wish we did....)
We traded Maynor so the Thunder would take the money we owe Harpring off our hands. I'm upset, but we still have Ronnie Price.
Maynor has always been one of my favorite players since before the draft. I wanted the Pacers, my second favorite team, to draft him because I thought they could really use his leadership, which is where Maynor really shines. Thank God we didn't give him to New York. He would have been an excellent fit and would have helped them win a lot more games.
BTW, since Utah has New York's draft pick this season, I've had just as much fun cheering against the Knicks as I have had cheering for the Jazz this season.
love the trade for the thunder. sucks to see shaun cut but maynor is legit backup
wow, I say dumb move by the Jazz, Maynor was a lot more NBA ready than I initially thought, and was about solid rookie backup with a lot of room to improve.
The only thing i see good for the jazz here is theyll have more cap room to bring in someone next year, better hope D-will doesnt go down
Jazz Get: Draft Rights To Peter Fehse
Thunder Get: Eric Maynor & Matt Harpring
Jazz Get: Some cap slack
Thunder Cut: Sean Livingston, Mike Wilks
EMaynor3 just got traded to Oklahoma city....................i wus always told everything happens for a reason.........
That's what Eric Maynor tweeted. It looks pretty depressing....Poor Kid
why trade a good up and coming point for money relief?
Because...You have a Great Point Guard already.
& also, maybe this has something to do with a future Boozer move...?
Thats what I was thinking, they really got a steal in the late first round...
and boy...what has Utah been doing with there draft picks lately?
2009- Eric Maynor - Traded Rookie Year
2009- Goran Suton - Waived
2008 - Kosta Koufos - Rarely Plays
2007 - Morris Almond - Opted not to re-sign, now hes in the d-league
Yeah, none of those will matter after they draft next year with the Knicks Pick though
This is just another example of how smart OKC has been. They don't go out wasting money. I'm not even sure if they have anyone with a bad contract on the team. They have also been smart about not throwing money at just anyone. By having as much capspace as they have for the past few years, they are able to absorb all kinds of contracts and other teams have to give them either young talent or draft picks to boot. It's a really smart way to build a team. We are really going to see how smart and how creative they are when it's time to resign players, because that's where it gets really hard, especially for a young team with a bunch of guys that are due for extensions around the same time.
im not sure but the jazz are over the cap by more then a lil and even when boozer leaves they will be over or near the cap so they still wont be able to bring in a big free agent. plus maynor wasnt making that muh as a late 1st round pick
