I thought about Nate being traded to every team in the league and how it might work out. Here are 6 that to me make the most sense. I took into consideration that a team bringing him in is probably a team trying to win now and not be in a deep rebuilding process. Also, available minutes and being worth the risk also factor in.
1-New Orleans Hornets. They want to win now with Chris Paul but it is painfully obvious they need help at the wing positions generating offense. Thornton has shown signs, but he is not ready to play big minutes on a playoff team. Nate would take a lot of pressure off a team that pretty much needs Paul to create evrything. Almost makes too much sense.
2-Miami Heat. With Chalmers and Arroyo battling for minutes at pg and not a great backup behind Wade, Nate could get minutes at both positions and help the team improve this year and be a tougher out in the playoffs. That could also help keep Wade happy and this does not effect their off season plans of playing the market.
3-Phoenix Suns. This is a team that is all about offense and could use some more fresh legs to help for the remainder of the 82 game schedule. And after 2 blowout losses to the Lakers already, they know that another piece could only help. Nate fits their style and should be able to get minutes with Barbosa not at the top of his game.
4-Chicago Bulls. They are underachieving big time. They really need another big man, but Nate could be that guy who helps replace Gordon, something Pargo has struggled with. And as a team, they are struggling offensively so another guy who can break down defenses and catch fire should really help.
5-San Antonio Spurs. There might be an issue with minutes, but if any top team needs a shot of energy off the bench it is the Spurs. They are an older methodical team that needs to mix it up right now and after losing in the first round last year and getting off to a slow start this year, why not give Nate a try?
6-Utah Jazz. SG is still an area of concern with Miles being inconsitent and Brewer struggling with his shot. Nate could get out and run with DWill and help bring a presence to Utah's second unit along with Millsap that could make it one of the league's strongest heading forward.
i think that would probably be a good fit with him and chris paul, but who isnt a good fit beside chris paul?
i definitely dont think Nate Robinson is enough to keep dwade in miami/happy
phoenix is a good fit but they are pretty much set at the guard positions with nash, dragic, barbosa, and richardson.
chicago could probably use him but hes definitely no Ben Gordon
i dont see pop or sloan wanting much to do with little nate.
I think he would be a good fit in 2 places that you mentioned miami he is an upgrade over chalmers and arroyo, I like him in phoenix he would be a good back up for nash even though dragic is playing good barbosa has been hurt a lot this year and i think he would be good there
1-New Orleans Hornets---He'd be a decent fit here for the season. I doubt that bringing him to NO would hurt Thornton's long term development as this is probably a half-season thing and Thornton is a player that will probably emerge more next season anyway.
2-Miami Heat---Well...maybe. They need more depth and Robinson would be a good spark off the bench. But would be be selfish enough to mess up chemistry and take some of Wade's shots? He'd have the ball alt and I don't know if him and Wade would be able to share the ball..
3-Phoenix Suns---I like this one a whole lot. He'd fill the role Barbosa's supposed to be filling.
4-Chicago Bulls---This and Phoenix would be the best fits on this list. Easily. They need someone to replace Ben Gordon, and Pargo is not the answer. Nate Robinson is the best fit for this situation.
5-San Antonio Spurs---I think they are fine with Roger Mason Jr.. He proviides them with efficient shooting and more D than Nate has ever played. I don't think Nate would last in San Antonio because of approach on D which is only exaggerated more by his lack of size.
6-Utah Jazz---Would Jerry Sloan really put up with Sloan? Don't forget Wesley Matthews is playing pretty good ball and with Brewer and Miles, they have Jerry Sloan type players. As I stated about the approach of San Antonio, Nate wouldn't be a good fit because of his lack of effort and size on D.
iggy. newyork would never take on barbosas contract
Very true...I'm bad with remembering contracts. He's got 3 years left it appears (1 is a player option). Your right I dont see them taking that on, but if he wasn't as much as he is they would look to move him as the centerpiece. Very hypothetical though.
for Nate is Golden State. He could play the four for Nellie.
I see Chicago as the best fit because as stated since Ben Gordon left they do not have that scorer off the bench, and Nate can provide that. As a knicks fan I would love for Donnie to some how trade Nate and package Jeffries or Curry, I could care less if we get a 2nd round pick back or there 12th man with an expiring contract just anything to get rid of one of those 2 contracts. I can dream, right?? lol.
