FLORIDA STATE VS GEORGIA TECH
this should be a pretty good test for the yellow jackets freshman derrick favors. the game comes on at 5:30 on fsn. also should be a good test for alabi faceing gani although i read that favors is gonna be checking alabi
Georgia Tech 73, Florida State 69
Favors: 17points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks
Lawal: 15 points,11 rebounds, 2 blocks
Alabi: 12 points, 15 rebounds
I predict Alabi will get shut down by Favors and Lawal and give Florida State 9 points 5 rebounds and 3 blocks in a 74-62 Georgia Tech win.
Lawal - 18 points 9 rbs, Favors 14 points 12 rebs 4 blocks. Udofia leading scorer with 20
I'm at the game...I'll give you guys a scotuing report!
so far both favors and gani is having problems. this is the first time both have to deal with more then one big man whos athletic and has pro potential
Yea they are...both teams period are having trouble scoring, just as I expected. I expect this to be a defensive struggle.
this is what hasppens when conference play starts as the announcers said..that intensity gets higher and the teams get tougher. its gonna be a long year for favors down low because each team has 2 athletic big men. everygame ive watched him he cant seem to score out side of under the basket. gani is clearley there best player downlow offensively and defensively
favors isnt that impressive in most of the games ive seen as far as moves and skills. i do see the potential but he clearly isnt ready to contribute on the nba level at this point. i dont see him getting to the line against this team because he wont over power or out jump them every time like he has done with the small weaker big men hes faced up to this point. he makes alot of dumb fouls also which says something about his basketball iq. i do hope he picks it up in the second half but i just dont see him doing awhole lot. he does have 2 blks and 4reb but he also has 3 turnovers. hes a very long ways from being a small foward as someone said and yeah youre right Q he doesnt do anything on offense out side of 3 feet from the rim.
when he's not fouling favors is a pretty good one on one defender
ani is having a tought night..fsu is making it hard to get him or favors the ball. it hurts favors more because he isnt good enough yet to create his own shot. he needs help in that department but a guard getting him the ball close to the basket. he does have potential but like i said before his game is not nba level right now. hes having a hard time checking the reid guy who isn;t that good but is a workhorse. but when a big man tries to make a make a move on him , as long as its one move, favors is good enough on defense to block or alter the shot. hes not as athletic as josh smith as some people think but there games are similar
this was my first time catching fsu but ive watched 9 of gt 10 games. gani and favors had major trouble scoring or even getting the ball and offensive rebounds against this team. favors is not a threat out side of the paint nor is he good at creating his own shot. he is a good shot blocker and rebounder though and beasy you're right his game isnt nba ready. he doesnt have a jumper and his handles are what you expect out of a pf. he is athletic but not the athlete that some people think he is. reid gave him problems with his hustle. peacock played pretty well for gt. alabi blocked shots and was very good on the boards along with favors for gt. both teams played good defense combined with bad shooting though. was happy to finally get my first look at favors vs a pro front line who were just as fast strong and athletic as favors and gani
