The Perfect Team For Wesley Johnson Is...

I don't know about you guys but I keep seeing Johnson killing it in a Timberwolves uniform. They need an athletic scoring wing like Tiger Woods needs good lawyers right now. Johnson is a do-it-all kind of player that can complement Love and Jefferson instead of alienating them by putting up 20-25 shots a game. He can also run with Flynn on the break and either spot up or score the assist at the rim. There is not a player in this draft who fits better. Agree or disagree?

The Timberwolves are still

The Timberwolves are still investing in Corey Brewer......On anothe note....

As a die-hard Syracuse (and Denver Nuggets) fan, it's our time....Stand up!!!! We haven't been here in six almost seven years. This is our season to once again possibly win another nation title. Only Kansas stands in the way and BOY are they good. But the last time we played them (the national championship) we previled. We lost Devendorf from a few other guys from last season......And we're better!!! Huh? Yeah, some things never make sense but I'm riding the wave. Enjoy the excitement. Root for the team. Support the team. Wesley Johnson (AKA little Shawn Marion) is looking incredible. As is Rautins, Jackson, basically the whole team.

Dhamp2...the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.

I brought Wesley Jonhson (AKA little Shawn Marion) to the website and dubbed him a top 10 pick.
Bring back Jason Hart and Sherman Douglas.
Anyone seen Ron Seiklay's 20-something year-old wife???

Dhamp

Dhamp I really don't see Minny on draft night sitting at #3 saying "Wes Johnson? But we already have Corey Brewer! Let's take...another guard." If you're right Dhamp that they're that invested in Brewer then Kahn's Wolves deserve to lose.

wesley johnson

I also agree he'd be a very nice fit for my Minnesota Timberwolves.

Timberwolves are pretty set at the PG position, although if they got the #1 pick, I'm sure they'd take Wall and deal rubio/flynn.

T-wolves really lack outside shooting, Brewer is a 40% shooter, and 20% from 3 pt land, and 63% from the FT line. When he's not dunking, ( derrick fischer sees you) he's pretty much worthless, plays ok defense, but that's overrated too.

Wesley Johnson brings much needed athletic ability to this team, and a guy who can give them some inside outside game. Al Jefferson is a post player, without much range, he does his work inside. While Kevin Love this year seems to be establishing a mid-range game, and even extending it out to the 3 point stripe.

I agree he's a great fit, the Twolves need a wing player who can shoot the ball very badly, whether that's Johnson or Henry.

My twolves board is this

1.) John Wall- best player in draft, ( flynn, rubio) become instant trade bait netting big return
2. Derrick Favors- simply BPA still, you trade AL jefferson in this scenario for wing help, maybe a pick to get a turner/johnson/henry
3) Evan Turner
4). Wesley Johnson
5.) Xavier Henry

Flynn and Wesley Johnson would have a good vibe as they were sort of teammates last year, even though Johnson sat out, they are close friends and practiced together. Flynn is extremely quick and able to get people open shots, the problem is most twolves players cant make open shots, where a Wesley Johnson could.

Seems like a great fit.

Corey Brewer will be solid

I think they need a big strong 2 guard to help run the triangle over there. Either Turner or Henry would be good. Wes would be better in Washington or golden state

Twolves

should try to aquire another top 7 pick in this draft, like they did last year by getting washingtons pick.

They could address their SG and SF spots in the same draft. They have the assets to do it.

If they somehow land #1 pick, it becomes much easier because you take Wall. Then Flynn/Rubio/Sessions are all available in trade.

But the fact that this is a weak PG draft, after wall, helps them in being able to move a PG like Flynn or Rubio. A team like Indiana, even Washington and a few other team could really use a PG and might be willing to give up a high pick for a legit PG.

Twolves have some assets to trade ( current players, excess of pg players, and a player like pekovic in europe + they may get the bobcats and utah jazz 1st round picks )

If I'm the wolves front office I try to come out of this draft with 2 of ( turner, johnson, henry) assuming I don't land John Wall #1.

I think Johnson would be

I think Johnson would be good in Minnesota too. Corey Brewer is developing at a decent pace this year, but he seems like a role-playing bench type of guy. He doesn't seem like he'll ever be strong enough or capable enough creating his own shots to be a true starter though. I think all of the things he brings to the table (length, quickness, athleticism, and defense) are things best suited as a change of pace.

ummm

I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't put turner 3, johnson 4, and henry 5.

But whatever floats it.

Hotshots you would draft

Hotshots you would draft favors then try and trade jefferson? You think that hes gunna be consistently dropping 20 and 10 like Al is everynight? I dont agree with your logic at all

Henry isn't a top five pick

Henry isn't a top five pick yet and wont be unless he shows amazing performances in March. He isn't athletic enough to dominate in the NBA like he is in college. That said, he could be in the top five in a particular club's draft board if their team needs are shooting guards/small forwards--

Remember, NBA scouts dont just look at proficiency in scoring, they look at athleticism and tons of other things especially with recent flops like Adam Morrison, Rafael Araujo, and Luke Jackson--all good players in college but not athletic enough to have their games translate to the NBA.
