Blazers granted roster exemption

The Portland Trail Blazers have been decimated by injuries and The Oregonian reports they have been granted a roster exemption from the NBA. This will allow them to sign a 16th player to the roster for a short-term basis.

"We're surveying our options," said Tom Penn, the Blazers' vice president of basketball operations. "We've been looking at free agents that are out there and available ... and we're going to keep our options open. We may or may not ultimately sign a player."

HoopsHype.com is reporting the Blazers will sign forward Anthony Tolliver today and he's expected to be in uniform tonight against Phoenix.

i don't have insider but apperantly the nba can allow you to have a 16th player if you have a lot of injuries. They have already picked up Anthonly Tolliver who has been ripping up the d-league

Good pickup for the Blazers.

Good pickup for the Blazers. I played against him while he was at Creighton and he's a beast. He's tough and doesn't back down. Good defender, rebounder... Tough nosed player. I think he'll give the Blazers some solid minutes backing up Aldridge and Pryzbilla.
