More Anthony Randolph talk

Reports that the Golden State Warriors are willing to trade second-year forward Anthony Randolph don't bother him at all, according to his agent.

"If Golden State wants to trade Anthony, we're not opposed to that," his agent, Bill Duffy, said. "He hasn't asked for or demanded a trade, but if the Warriors feel it would be beneficial to them to trade him, we wouldn't be opposed to that at all."

A. Randolph

In fact, others close to the 20-year-old Randolph say he would be pleased to get a fresh start elsewhere. He's averaging 11.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and a team-high 1.2 blocks while playing 22 minutes a game.

Despite his tremendous talent, concerns about Randolph's work ethic and lack of focus have led the Warriors to consider trading him, according to various reports. When reached by telephone, Larry Riley, Golden State's general manager, would not comment on the reports.

"I don't comment on trade rumors," Riley said.

Sources within the Warriors organization and around the league say the 6-foot-10 forward is available, but they said he is not being shopped.

"They're not trying to unload the guy," one Western Conference executive said. "But they are disappointed in him, so now they're willing to listen to other teams. Whereas before the season, their thinking was that he was untouchable and they wouldn't even listen."

Executives mentioned New York and Houston as clubs that have interest in Randolph, but he will not be easy to move because of the great disparity between his small salary ($1.8 million) and his perceived upside. The most likely trade scenario would include Randolph as part of a larger deal that featured a more accomplished player.

"I don't know that Randolph's stock has dropped around the league," the executive said. "He's a great talent; he just hasn't done much yet. So he's more of a sweetener that could get another deal done if you threw him in."

While the Warriors have complained about a perceived lack of maturity on Randolph's part, he has been upset with the sporadic way in which Coach Don Nelson has used him -- varying his minutes and even his position at times. In the five games this season in which he's played 30 or more minutes, Randolph has averaged 18.4 points and 10 rebounds. The Warriors won three of those games, including victories over Portland and Dallas.

Randolph's representatives met with Warriors management last month to discuss his concerns, telling them that if his playing time didn't become steadier he would like for them to look into moving him. Duffy said he hasn't spoken with Riley about Randolph's situation since reports surfaced of the team's willingness to trade him.

"Whatever the Warriors decide to do, Anthony's going to continue to work hard and develop as a player," Duffy said.

Plus Mikki Moore is out
Plus Mikki Moore is out indefinitely with bone spurs.  This means Randolph gets a huge increase in playing time.  We will finally see what you can do playing a ton of minutes.

They may not want to

But for a superstar they would. Even though I honestly , non biased opinion is he will be a 25 ppg 5 apg 4 reb and 2.5 stl for a long time. It'd be stupid to move him or AR

I'm not sure if they want to
I'm not sure if they want to trade Monta or not.  I do think they should though. Ellis & Curry in the same backcourt just isn't that good.  This team needs to make a lot of changes.

The Warriors have said that

The Warriors have said that no players on their team is untouchable...I think the Knicks have a legit chance of getting him though

I hope NY adds him and Augustine.

That way, the future seems to be a tad brighter.

Randolph

This is a little off topic but oh well. How does Don nelson have a job? He doesn't seem to realize what works and what doesn't. He has so much young talent on that club, but they need a leader. Does Monta Ellis or Biedrins look like a leader? NO. They need get rid some the young guys and get more of a leader. This person doesnt have be superstar just someone that knows what it takes to be successful in the NBA.

I hope and pray NY gets him

I hope and pray NY gets him but I dont know if we have enough pieces. Our best player is Al Harrington and he butts heads with Nellie. I think the only players they'd be interested in are Chandler, Nate and possibly jeffries as a moblie big defender. I think Gallo is untouchable. Walsh was enamoured with Randolph's play in the summer league and will push hard to get him though.

knicks dont have the assets get him

What could the knicks offer that Golden State would consider? I dont see them wanting Nate or Jefferies and they dont need anymore wing men they are full there.

Hill is a possibilty but hes

Hill is a possibilty but hes hard to make work because of salary. Lee isnt really an option because we'd have to get back a bad contract. Best bet is Qhaynes trade of Chandler/Jeffries for Claxton/Randolph

Yeah thats a good point Lee

Yeah thats a good point Lee or Hill although they had an option to take Jordan Hill and instead took Curry for a small backcourt

hope he goes to the knicks

anthony randolph would be fun to watch in 7SOL offense. With his athleticism and length, man.....now if they only would have drafted a point guard to run that offense....
*cough* brandon jennings

Randolph really can do it

Randolph really can do it all but I hope the Knicks dont try to stick him at center. He's way too slim to be banging with the big boys. That would be Walsh's best move yet if he could get Randolph. It would help ease the pain from the Jennings screw up and the fact that we dont have a 1st rounder.

As a Knick fan Im getting extremely excited about the idea of Randolph in a Knicks jersey...I have to believe that its a stretch, but u never know with Warriors...I would trade any player on the roster for him, except probably Gallo although I think Randolph will be better

I feel the same way on all

I feel the same way on all accounts td. I read something a while back about Walsh loving Randolph and feeling like he missed out. He never said he regretted drafting Gallo but I got that impression.

Long term, he's definitely a 4...I don't really like the knicks, but if they were able to land him I think that would really help their chances in landing lebron.

I don't really understand why the Knicks don't try to move chandler and Danilo, I mean these guys are 3s and if they were able to land lebron they would take Wall Szerbiak roles, and Lebron knows this...I don't know why they don't try to trade them for talent at other positions...Why would a guy sign with a team if their best talent was on the bench?

Randolph

If randolph landed with the knicks and thats a big if, he would help them havea chance at landing Lebron. The knicks have just a few pieces that I would want to built around. Gallinari, Lee (who probably wont be there), maybe Hill, and Douglas. Robinson will be gone so that isnt really an option. Duhon for me is a backup in this league. Chandler is one those players who I think will be good only on bad teams. Does anyone agree or not?

Randolph

He would be great in D'Antoni's system. Runnin up and down the floor in that system with his length=perfect fit.
