I saw 8th deadly sin say he played with O.J. Mayo and I didnt know that...I thought it would be cool if we all talked about our experience playing with our against NBA or College Players
I played H.S. basketball agaisnt Danny Green of UNC and the Cavs....He played for St. Marys and was probably their best player they ever had, by his senior year we new he was going to UNC so there was obviously alot of hype...he was awesome, at the time was just completely more physical then everyone else, but still had that unselfishness and pretty much dominated every facet of the game, very unselfish for his superior talent

I was like 10 but yea played against him at my YMCA when he was in the Daniel Boone school district. Didn't even realize it till 2 years ago lol.
I can only claim two, against Carmelo and 3 or his entourage in 3 pick up games about 3 months after he won the national championship at SyracuseI . I was at my gym and me and a buddy (he does not play basketball) had literally just finished our workout when Melo sat down next to me in the locker room (Same gym the Ravens used to work out at, if you are from Baltimore you know which one). Completly and utterly shocked I listened to their conversation and when they stood up to head toward the gym me and my buddy didn't speak a word and followed them right into the gym. 2 other guys strolled in and I found myself asking Melo and his crew if they wanted to play a pick up game. We ended up having 2 of his crew and two of the gym members on each team. After they (Melo's team) annihilated us I actually was stupid enough to ask them to run it back twice and they did. Got my butt completely whopped but it was one of the funnest times I have ever had playing sports. It was great to see someone of his stature would still oblige a couple gym rats to a few pick up games.
Will Demps (NFL Safety) used to play pickup games at the same gym, played with him numerous times.
Didnt play basketball with, but a few times i played video games with Greg Ostertag
I played grammar shcool basketball(he went to my school) with Durand Scott of the Miami Hurricanes, he is actually a friend of mine. He is one of the biggest trash talkers I have ever met but he can back it up.
yeah this topic has been done a couple times, you'll see answers if you click on that link. But I'll repeat Gilbert Arenas and Tyson Chandler in highschool. Also Dijion Thompson and Desmond Penigar who both played one season in the nba and I played against Brian McKnight in a open gym.
Sean Connolly, Courtney Eldridge he played at UNC Greensborough and now plays overseas and we were real good friends battled everyday as kids. Kid who plays for the Bucks too back up Center the kid dunked on everyone all day all game Dan Gadzuric played for governor dummer
Brandon, Kareem, and JaRon Rush. Brandon and JaRon had a lot of dunks while Kareem just killed from the outside everygame. They are a cool group of brothers tho
at the HPER, I played against Jared Jeffries (when he was an eighth grader) and with Indiana high school legend and IUs Damon Bailey.
If it means this much: Bow Wow, Wade, & I've met quite a few Ravens players.
Courtnesy Sims from Michigan played a few games in the league. Kid was mad tall when I was like 5 years older than him. He came a long way. I was way better than him back then, but kid grew to 7 feet. good kid though him and his brother good people.
highschool-dermar johnson, steve francis(aau) luke recker, troy murphey, tim thomas tmac( didnt play against him but he was at abcd camp when i was there. dunked on james felton something very very nasty) keith bogans, joe forte
summer leauge and open gym- vince carter rasheed wallace, jerry stackhouse brendon haywood( dunked on him on a reverse then stack house came over and said i was the mvp of the game..was only about 19 at the time so i thought i was the shi$tz after that) steven hunter, mike beasley, kevin durant, alonzo mourning( used to work out with my brother, i was only about 10 at the time and almost beat him in one on one, of course he let me score the four points i scored) lamond murry, mike smith, david vanderpool, lonnie harrell, lonnie baxter chris wilcox, david west, lorenzo charles, serge zwiker, the utah jazz team minus okur ak47,kyle kover, collins twin, byron wilson
judging from everyone taking points off my post i guess no one believes me ? i have proof of some of some of them, others i can tell exactly when, where and how i played with or against them
Lived a mile from J.R. Reid when he was the number one high school player in the country(long time ago). Played some pickup against him in his high school gym. He set a pick on me at mid-court, and I thought I had run into a telephone pole.
I ended up playing at J.R.'s former high school for one year, before moving to North Carolina.
Played against Hubert Davis at UNC's basketball camp when I was 16. He didn't seem like anything special--just some average, skinny kid. I was quite surprised when he turned out be good enough for the NBA.
J.R. Reid, man that is a blast from the past. I was a pretty big fan of his especially back when he played for the Hornets.
I played A.A.U. against Dennis Lattimore of Arizona and Notre Dame and some pick-up games at the KU rec center against Aaron Miles, Keith Langford, and Bryant Nash ( he wasn't much of a player, but at 6'6'' he was one of the best athletes I've played with his vert was insane.
Watched Television with a 14-15-year-old Alonzo Mourning in an Old Dominion University Dorm lobby once(basketball camp). Got within a foot of Len Bias that same week. Bias was hanging out with Kenny Gattison around Norfolk for a brief period. Len passed a year later.
There was lot of basketball talent in the "Tidewater" area of Virginia at that time. Allen Iverson and Joe Smith came up in the same area years after that.
JR Reid peaked at age 20. On the college level he was a combination of Kevin McHale and Karl Malone. Didn't quite have the length or lift for the tall-ball NBA of that time. Wonder what he would have done in this era.....
greg monroe-played against in high school
brandon bass, tyrus thomas, bo spencer- played pick up games
does semoine augustus count, she plays like a dude, lol
and david wesley when i was 11 at his basketball camp.
