Making the nba......................
now i notice there are alot of young cats on here who can ball and whatnot. and i know theres kids and other ballers trying to make it the pros. now i was one of them. everyday i would play ball and just dream that one day i would be in the pros. playing the game i love, taking care of my family, living it up. but that never happen. because of poor grades, bad work ethic, bad attitude, i had the talent. and if i had tried hard i could have been playing atleast d2 ball. and i just wanna say to all yall who are still young and in school and who wanna play ball. you have to do right in school, have a good mindset, pratice hard on both sides of the court. try to add more to your game. yes i know making the nba is very hard believe me i know. but dont let the sink in your head go out there in every game and play like its your last. man i wish i could show yall tapes of me. i have the quickness, hops, jumpshot out this world.
To be honest, I hate to shoot down any dreams, but unless you can absolutely dominate in HS, the NBA isnt your calling. I mean I am the best player on my D2 team and I could never compete in the NBA. I have told everyone about how I played with OJ Mayo and he was dominate. You have to be huge, smart, athletic, and young to make the NBA. Get that scholarship so you get a free education but dont let the NBA be your plan. Do good in school, get a degree, find a nice partner to settle down with and try your best to contribute to society.
a lot of people don't know how hard it is to make it to the nba. actually just making pro ball anywhere is difficult. i was a half-way decent street ball player and on defense i could shut down every position but i don't think that would've even got me into college. most fans don't realize the work and talent that is required to make it in the nba
I like the message of kids who are great highschool athletes taking school seriously. The NBA is is a long shot and I know people who have no chance of ever making it but they get a D1 scholarship and they just mess around in school and only care about sports. I seriously doubt anyone on here will be making a nba squad, so hit the books and get an education.
Team sport to become a professional in by far. I seen a lot of good players that I thought would make it and they never had a season. My cousin use to date Dana Barros and he is the only player out of all the good players i have seen to make it. My boy Courtney Sims played a few games in the leauge and he is good, but still has not stuck around.
i agree it is the hardest of the major sports in america to make it. It is the most played team sport in america and if you aren't 6-6 and athletic then you are already at a huge disadvantage. Plus it has millions around the world who are also competing for the 400 or so spots in the nba.
