Lance

Why is everybody on here so hard on him saying he wont make it in the league and just negatives about him? He is the same player as tyreke evans except he plays in a way better conference they are the same size, need the ball to be effective, bully their way to the goal, compete on defense, not great shooters, and not very athletic so why is everybody high on reke and low on lance? The guy is averaging 13, 6, and 2.5 assists and its early in his freshman season and he's not the go to guy yet. Also he would be getting more assists if he ran the point like reke did but his team has a true point guard. Also if they player the same style as memphis did last year lance would average 20 a game they try to play a half court game so there is less scoring chances. The guy will be a good player in the league and average 18-22 ponts per game for most his career I dont see how people can say reke will do it but he cant. He is also a better shooter and has a way better form than reke

and while lance has to share

and while lance has to share the ball with his teammates last year Reke played the 3rd most mins on the team but took 185 more shots than the next player on his team. While people are hating on him now people will realize what im saying about him by seasons end

Aside from being black and

Aside from being black and playing basketball I don't see any other similarities between Evans and Stephenson. Evans played at a school that had a MONSTER schedule and showed immediately that he was no joke. Stephenson plays at an upper level mid-major [lets face it, this ain't the Huggins era] and has done nothing but look very average against mediocre competition. I'm not an Evans guy at all and feel he has a lot to improve on if he wants to have continued success in the L 'cause teams WILL figure out his below the rim DWade game, but he's light years ahead of Stephenson.

they play the exact same way

they play the exact same way and reke struggled until the switch to point. people just look at stats they have the exact same game and size lances plays the 3 right now thats why he has struggled a lil bit he's been the point or 2 guard his whole career and he will be ahead of where reke was by seasons end cuz he will acually find out how to play off the ball something reke never has been good at his whole basketball life! Why say he bullies people to the hole and thats all he can do when that all rke did in college and is doing now did you guys forget he was a 6'6 220 pound point guard in college thats like having a 300 pound center in college. if lance got to play the point he would do more than reke did. He already averages more rebonds and 1 less assist without the ball always in his hands. You cant really compare their stats tho cuz Lance isnt the focal point of the team like Reke was but he will be by seasons end and everybody will be on his bandwagon. Watch him play and you wil see him and reke have the exact same style but lance is alot more athletic

I don't understand it

I don't understand it either. I think he has the potential to be a big time scorer in the NBA. I guess if you watched him play in the McDonald's Games or other All-Star events then you won't be impressed with him, because he was playing very poor and immature in those games. But if you watched him at any other time, and that includes in college, than you'd come away think the same thing. He has all the tools to be a beast, except he's not the best athlete. But even that is aided because he has long arms. I think he'll be a beast. We'll have to see though..

some people just judge

some people just judge players by their names but this guy has major talent and will be a good nba player and he's not even as selfish as people say he passes pretty good for somebody who is suppose to be a scorer. By tourney time everybody will be talking about him like they thought he would be good when they are dogging him now

lol..i was thinking the same

lol..i was thinking the same thing..what monster schedule. i mean lance isnt tearing it up but hes playing well. him nor favors are tearing it up but for some reason everyone that saying favors is looking great is saying that lance is looking average to below average. and i can see the comparision. lance is playing with more talent on his team so i dont expect him to put up the same numbers as eveans while not having the ball in his hands as much either and its easy to say evans is light years ahead of him since hes now doing work in the nba. i do think lance should stay another year though. i was very suprised about the hard foul on him and the team getting upset and players almost fighting yet he kept his cool

Lance has to improve his
Lance has to improve his shooting.  He is averaging more assists than turnovers which is actually impressive for a freshman.  Cincy has played against some tough teams already too including: Vandy (good defensive team), Gonzaga, Xavier, & Maryland.  If Stephenson is putting up pretty good numbers now I don't see why he won't continue doing so in Big East play because the competition isn't going to get a whole lot better. He will continue to improve as the season progresses. I'm not super high on Lance but I don't hate his game either. I am pretty neutral right now.

people just saw the missori

people just saw the missori game and jumped on the evans bandwagon he cant shoot either and he turns the ball over at a high rate. And thank you favors isnt dominating but people say he should be the number 1 pick but lance is playing how his team needs him to and he's considered a second round pick? COM' ON SON!

its simple beanz. alot of

its simple beanz. alot of the people already didnt like lance because of his attitude and still dont because of how he acted in highschool. and some just go by his numbers. but if you watch him you can see he has a nba game he has go too moves and second and third options in his offensive game. hes very composed( sometimes he makes freshmen mistakes) nd works hard on defense. hes more athletic then fans give him credit for also. i watched doug gottlib and jay williams praise lance and admit they were wrong about him and how he has a nba game and doug used to think the same way some people on here thought untill he watched his games. hes also patient and understands the team game( now that suprised me because i thought he was gonna come into cincy and try to be the star)

Memphis was playing outside

Memphis was playing outside the conference and went into the tourney and did well with a severly depleted team compared to the year before. The main difference is how smooth Evans is compared to Stephenson. They're both big guards who aren't all that athletic and can't shoot and rely on their handle and physicallity to get to the rack, but Evans uses his handle to get somewhere while Stephenson just kinda dribbles around until he's forced into a bad shot. His sh!tty attitude has less to do with his being thought low of than his inability to dominate on a mediocre team. He went to Cincy specifically to be a big fish in a small pond and the facts are he's just not good enough to pull that off. Looks like you don't know what you're talking about homey.

I can agree with that. But

I can agree with that. But don't write off Stephenson just yet. Evans started off the season at about the same pace as Stephenson. By the end of the year, I can promise you that Stephenson will the the leader of the team and a hot name amongst scouts.

^ TrueIf Lance can lead

^ True

If Lance can lead Cincy to the NCAA tourney, (which I thought they would do that before the season started) & lead them to a win or two while playing well in the process then his stock will rise a lot. Players move up draft boards rapidly in March.

I've been thinking this for

I've been thinking this for a while. Lance plays very similar to Tyreke and as of right now is a better jump shooter. And all the people on this site saying they always knew Tyreke was gonna be a beast and all that other BS, STOP! People were dogging Tyreke last year and then when pre-draft workouts rolled around people were thinking he was awesome. The same thing will happen with Stephenson when he enters the draft and destroys his competition in the workouts. Realistically I think he should stay another year, but he can play right now if he wanted to. He's Born Ready for crying out loud

Stephenson will get murdered

Stephenson will get murdered in private workouts. Of course it's only an all-star game[s] but Evans was MVP and Stephenson looked out of place when playing elite talent. We've already discussed ad nauseum what he can and can't do, but it bears repeating that he's incapeable of dominating on an average team playing aginst average comp when that's the sole reason he chose that school.

He did not look out of place

He did not look out of place at all....lol...that's an exaggeration. He tried to be too flashy and didn't have the best attitude, but he did not look out of place. Dexter Strickland and Kenny Boynton looked out of place in these events, not Stephenson, who started the games and played alot of minutes (relatively) in both events.

He also chose the school he did because teams were scared off by his off-court troubles, his dad, and the fact that he looked to have a poor attitude on the court in HS. He probably would've went to Maryland or Kansas had they kept their offers on the table. That's not much better, but he didn't choose Cincy to play on a small team and be considered "the man."

You're proving my point by

You're proving my point by stating he played more minutes and still put up bad stats. He was getting his shots blocked, couldn't do what he was trying to and was getting frustrated. Why do you think he went to Cincy? To help the program? You're delusional. The kid's had everyone around him tell him how good he is for as long as he can remember and now it turns out everyone was lying to him. He had a host of other schools to choose from still and decided on Cincy to put up numbers and get the f#$k outta there. That's why he was considering Europe but no one over there wanted his mediocre a$$ either. Face it folks, he ain't that good.

Everyone was lying to him?

Everyone was lying to him? This is too fast to say that...He has potential and he's very good. I'd be the 1st person to point it out if he wasn't good. I think y'all really need to watch him play in actual games, because it's clear he has the talent to be a quality starter in the NBA..It seems like your basing your judgment on how he played in the McDonald's Game and all-star events, instead of watching him play college games. All that stuff about Cincy is irrelevant because Cincy is a top 30 if not top 25 team and the truth is they had some NBA prospects on that team before Stephenson came along. It's not like he went there and was going to be the 1st option from Day 1 without proving himself worthy.

you obviously havn't watched

you obviously havn't watched him play with some of the things you've said whiteflash like he cant shoot and he went to cinny to be a big fish in a small pond. if he wanted to do that there were plenty of other teams he could have went to. and memphis schedule wasnt as strong as cinncy's and conference usa will never be mistaken for the big east. its pretty obvious that you have a bias against him since everyone but you thinks hes a pretty good player. when they talk about him on espn i haven't heard one commentator say anything close to what you say about him

Quincey, you've proven time

Quincey, you've proven time and again to know d!ck about basketball so anything you say is automatically disregarded as nonsense. I'm the only one who doesn't like him? Have you checked this site, or others? I don't give a sh!t what commentators say. Magic Johnson [as a commentator] said Anthony Peeler was the best player he'd ever seen and Christian Drejer [sp?] was touted as the next big thing by every announcer until he got a few games in. I actually watched a game the other day where Stephenson got an uncontested rebound BELOW the rim and the announcers were talking about how high he got, haha. Media bias doesn't faze me homey. I know ball players and the kid's gonna be a bust. And, he can't shoot. Hitting a jumper every now and again doesn't mean he's Allan Houston. Some of the people on this site trip me out.

Also, he got a few garbage

Also, he got a few garbage time lay-ups and still only ended up with 12. He was NOWHERE NEAR being the MVP. It truely blows my mind that you claim to have played overseas yet no very little about the game.

Once again you have to watch

Once again you have to watch him play lol....Magic Johnson hasn't commentated on any Cincy games so that was irrelevant. Christian Drejer is one instance of someone being too hyped up, and it has nothing to do with anything because Lance Stephenson is NOT Christian Drejer... I also very seriously doubt that Lance Stephenson got a rebound below the rim and commentators where talking about how high he got. He probably was indeed, not below the rim..Lance Stephenson is probably the last person that the media would have a bias towards given his perceived persona anyway.. He's not shooting the best right now, but Carmelo Anthony wasn't the best shooter as a freshman, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant and even Michael Jordan had inconsistent shots at the same stage and look how they turned out. His shot is not broke, it's streaky, but not broke. Just watch some Cincy games this year, I'm tired of trying to explain this to you, when your going by All-Star game accolades from HS instead of watching what he's doing right now...

Who else shares my

Who else shares my "dislike", how about all the people that gave me points [that you took away] and all the people giving you negatives, on top of everyone on every other thread about this guy that echo my sentiments? I don't care what arguement you're trying to bring here, 'cause you're gonna get shut down. He can't shoot, can't jump [and please don't post the same vid of a 6'6" Stephenson barely dunking "over" Cousins while they're messing around that you've posted over and over], isn't fluid, dribbles the air out of the ball, has a bad attitude and can't standout [let alone dominate] on a very average team. Kid's a bust if he ever makes it.

And Iggy, did you really

And Iggy, did you really just compare Stephensoon to Jordan, Kobe and James? The difference between those three and Stephenson is world class athleticism and feel for the game. Stephenson is a mediocre athlete and doesn't appear to have a great understanding of basketball. I have been watching what he's doing now you fu#$ing jacka$$es, which is why I can tell you he's got bust written all over him. You two and Beanz can continue the Stephenson jerk-a-thon while ya'lls points keep slipping and I'll move on knowing that ya'll have no fu#$ing clue of what ya'll speak.

I think Lance Stevenson will

I think Lance Stevenson will be a solid NBA player... I dont think he will be a 20ppg scorer he MIGHT make one all star game.. I dont think he is garbage but I dont think he will be a star.. I have to admit im not that impressed with him based on the reputation he had coming in to college.. Ive watched he play couple times and he lacks athleticism, his dribbles too much, and his shot is very limited at this point but I believe he can get better... I don have to admit he is seems intense on the court and he competes hard... If he leaves his freshamn year he will probaly go in the second round bt if he stays 1 or 2 more years he could improve enough to be a first round pick... When I see Stevenson I see bigger less athletic Isaiah Rider..

What I said: "He's not

What I said:

"He's not shooting the best right now, but Carmelo Anthony wasn't the best shooter as a freshman, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant and even Michael Jordan had inconsistent shots at the same stage and look how they turned out."

How is that comparing him to them?....and since when is Carmelo Anthony a world-class athlete? I said that they were probably the same level shooters as Stephenson is at the same stage of development. I didn't make a comparison on any other part of their game. It was merely an example of how you can't rule out someone from being a good shooter when it's not that they can't shoot, it's that they are streaky or lack range.

People praise reke for

People praise reke for dribbling but say lance dribbles too much it kills me. all his weaknesses are the same as rekes. I think people thought he would be a selfish player and thats why his stock is down cuz he's not scoring a whole lot. Thats only because he playing a team game and playing the right way not ball hogging. He also has dominated everybody in his class for a while now at camps and the summer circut so how can people act like now everybody is so much better than him. Also same size and physical features as tyreke

Godd@mn dude, go back and

Godd@mn dude, go back and read, or use your eyes to watch the game. Evans uses his handle to get somewhere while Stephenson just dribbles around until he's forced into a bad shot. It's like he's dribbling just for the sake of dribblin'.

You lost your points because

You lost your points because you are saying a whole bunch of stuff that carries no weight...At least disagree and have relevant points. You wouldn't worry about points if you thought you were making good points..Notice how you give yourself points after every one of your posts? You haven't even watched him play a meaningful game and have an opinion about how his career will go....that's stupid my friend. You can never determine a player's career path by how he performs in a HS All-Star game.

Carries no weight? I've pointed out quite clearly what he has and hasn't done, not only in HS but so far in college as well. All you do is keep saying the same sh!t that I've already addressed. You and Quincey carry no weight 'cause ya'll just keep regurgitating the same nonsense. Also, I seldom give myself points. I had 70pts 2 days ago and now I have 40-something 'cause ya'll two girls get butt hurt that I keep shutting ya'll down. The more I'm on this sit the more I realize there's only a handful of people who know what the f@ck they're talking about.

I took your points on this

I took your points on this post, and I took them because your reasons behind your argument carry no weight. You are taking this argument too far...I think you think your hurting my feelings or something my calling me names, but your not. Your just making yourself sound stupid and immature. I won't say young, because as a young man (I'm 17), even I know calling people names and making gay slurs at people that don't share the same side of your argument (which carries no weight, I must say once again) shows an extremely high level stupidity and immaturity. I really do hope that your even younger than me...like middle school aged, because if your older than 13 or 14 and carrying yourself like you are on this forum that's incredibly sad.

But to answer your question, your points were taken for making a statement about someone that it's quite obvious you haven't seen play meaningful competition. C'mon man....

Just because somebody

Just because somebody doesn't agree with you doesn't necessarily mean that they're dumb or that they don't know what they're talking about. Also, you shouldn't curse or get so defensive, because that really takes away from whatever point you're trying to make.
