If Chicago gets the 1st pick in 2010....what do you do?
Um...Fill seats by having a backcourt of John Wall and Derrick Rose? All kidding aside, no I really have no idea, maybe trade it for a top PF? Derrick Favors in my opinion at this point, isn't a player who justifies passing John Wall for. John Wall is arguably better than Derrick Rose was at this point in his freshman season, whereas Favors in nowhere near close to Beasley's skill set during his freshman season.
I'm only making this comparison to put in context how the draft could work out. Basically you have to make a trade, because I don't see anyone in the draft justifiably being drafted over John Wall
Take Wall.LOL............. Rose and Wall would be super duper fun to watch.
the pick and get that dominant low post presence they have been looking for.
draft a coach
LOL, Im listening to the show...and when you asked Iggy9 that, he froze, lol...i've never heard seen Iggy so speechless lol
Thats a damn good question though
And if they do take Wall, who plays off the ball?
Wall would play off the ball.
What is this show thing I keep hearing about? I'm curious...details please
go look for the episode 9 post. click the link
QHaynes runs an internet radio show, him and Iguodala9 talk basketball for an hour and a half, college & NBA, not the most entertaining show, but its quite informing
not the most entertaining show
You guys should have game portions of the show....................Get what im saying? ....................Like fun games that correlate to basketball...............Something like over or under, 1 word association.............Just a suggestion......
What a great idea man...Damn I should have thought of something like that...Props fo sho
Yeah, exactly what mikenike said....start some games or soemthing
But what makes it not entertaining is because basically its just 2-3 guys talking about basketball...I can call up some buds on the phone, and do the same thing
I personally really like the show, its just missing that "it" factor
Yea, come 2010- we will have that.
Also- Tune in Next week for the 2010 Draft show!
I just turned it on, Al Jefferson trades what what??? Pulling sh*t outta your guys' asssss ; )
You guys need Dicky V or Bill Simmons on the show....I would listen to every one.
Al Jefferson, Wayne Ellington to Houston for Ariza, Scola, Landry and 1st round pick
I would first say Al jeff is higher up on an untouchable list than most people...Scola is coming off the books he'll be a FA i'm pretty sure so that makes that offer alot less appealing. not bad though
Houston is giving up way too much in that deal.
Great idea!! lol
hey, I was just throwing a deal out there.
I just love this kind of talk...not trying to be like YOURE WRONG...I just love to discuss and debate these kinds of things. Not trying to come off like a prick haha.
Also I feel if the T'Wolves traded Al Jeff right now they'd be making a huge mistake. He's still getting healthy from his knee surgery (took Oden a full season to get his explosiveness back) so I think they'd probably get low-balled on offers for Al Jeff. The guy is a potential 25 and 12 guy which is super rare in the NBA. He can score in the post with the best of them and he's too young to write off and say he won't get fully healed or anything. Now a big man that needs to get moved to Houston is Marcin Gortat...but what for?
First off, Chicago isn't entirely out of the playoff picture just yet. If they improve over the second half of the season, they could land in the 8th spot.
However, if they were to land in the lottery and get the first pick, I'd say trade the pick to get a scorer that'll take some of the pressure off Rose and Deng. Preferably a SG, but they could use some help at PF and C too.
Maybe trade down lower in the lottery to get Xavier Henry or Evan Turner?
If Chicago lands in the lower half of the lottery, then they should take a serious look at Willie Warren.
in order for them to be a serious team they need to go out and get a big man, perhaps marcin gortat would be a nice fit
Gortat is a awful fit.
He's not that good.
Do people really think Gortat is that good?? And yes Chi would try to trade the pick, but then again who knows what is going to happen btween now and the draft cuz anyone could shoot up the draft board.
Gortat is nothing but a straight line athlete...he can run in a straight line, jump straight in the air, block shots and dunk but if he has to make a move...that's when trouble lies ahead. He's not a starter at all, if that's what your hoping for...
Gortat is very solid. He's only 25 and I really believe he could be a starter on most NBA teams. A go to guy? No way! But he's a legi 7 footer with good athleticism and decent explosiveness. He can stay in-front of his man and pull down 10 and 10 a night no problem. He can defend the Andrew Bynums and such with his size and strength. Is he on Al Jefferson's level? No way. I'm not saying the guy's an All-Star by any means. He's not very close...but he's a lot better than you're giving him credit for and would fit perfect with a scrappy Rockets squad.
Would you do
#1 overall pick for like Minnesota or Memphis' 1st round picks in those drafts
#1 overall pick (Wall) for NY's 2011 1st round pick?
please say the 2nd one...lol
Q- possibly, but there would have to be some other players &or picks involved though.
The Knicks would have to give up 2011 1st round, another future pick, some cash, & possibly a player in order to get that #1 pick. Wall has a lot of value.
I'm gonna say the Knicks have about a 0% chance of getting John Wall...
whereas Favors in nowhere near close to Beasley's skill set during his freshman season.
This statment confuses me. I thought Beasley was good but idk what i think of him now. What do you guys think of beasley and favors
Oklahoma has any chance of gettting aldrich
I think Beasley is a good 2nd option or maybe 3rd option in the NBA offensively, bad defender and a mediocre rebounder. He also has to stay out of trouble.
Favors has the potential to be Amare Stoudemire with better D and rebounding instincts. He's super explosive and long, and has some tools on offense that don't hurt to have in the old arsenal...I think he'll be a better pro than Beasley though.
I think OKC would have to have a early lotto pick, probably top 5 (even though Aldrich isn't a top 5 player to me) to land Aldrich. So they might want to stop winning to get a chance at him haha.
I think Favors will be a much better player. He can impact the game in a variety of ways. Underrated post moves as well.
The statement brings up the question...Is there anyone in the draft worthy of passing up John Wall for? Right now the only guy who seems to have the ceiling and ability to challenge John Wall is Derrick Favors...This is similar to last years draft with the question: Who goes number 1, Rose or Beasley? In the end, it was almost unanimous that Derrick Rose was the right pick. A big explosive point guard who was a proven winner. A unique talent.
John Wall, in my opinion, is better at this stage of his college career than Derrick Rose was through 10 games or however many at Memphis. I'm sure most would at least agree John Walls season is comparable to Rose's since they're both leading top teams to a great season (so far, and not to mention being coached by the same guy).
Now is Derrick Favors season, in anyway to you scream out in the way Michael Beasley's does? Has he done anything to show he should possibly usurp Wall as the number 1 pick? Not even close. Beasley with roughly the same skill set as Favors (6' 9, atheltic, Beasley more perimeter oriented though) averaged 26 points, 12.5 rebounds 1.5 steals and blocks a game and still wasn't the number 1 pick.
So what I was say with that, long story short. If you pass up Wall for someone else you're crazy. If someone like Beasley who came up and dominated college basketball couldn't be the number 1 overall, why would Favors when he hasn't done nearly as much as Beasley had done.
----And with my Rose/Beasley to Wall/Favors...I'm not talking about what Beasley or Rose has done in the NBA. I'm talking purley from a perspective of scouts who will be viewing what they COULD offer in the NBA...You guys are speaking in hindsight which is 20/20. I'm talking as in before Rose or Beasley were in the NBA, and I'm explaining this correctly?
