I'm beginning to think differently about D-Rose
Ok. I know I won't make any friends by saying this but.
" I do not see the superstar in D-Rose"
I have to say it. After his 30 point game in vs Boston- many seen him as the future Best PG in the NBA.
I predicted Chicago would not make the playoffs- So far they proved me right.
I was expecting D-Rose to make a huge jump. The Injury has hurt him a bit but even when he plays ( I have seen 15 Bulls games this season) he doesn't really take over to me. He kinda of takes what the D gives him. I'm not saying he can never be good, as of right now:
Chicago is not good and Derrick Rose does not look like that Best PG in the NBA like many people said/ predicted this offseason.
check my story out about that.
i think hes a star just not superstar yet..he could be it then again maybe not..i think he needs another star to reach his full potential
I have to agree with you at this point and it hurts me to say it too. He doesn't have that mindset to take over a game like I'd like him to have. I realized this for 100% vs the Bucks when he could've taken the game winning shot, but passed it to Miller, who missed at the buzzer.
He has the potential to do it... He's young, so maybe it'll take him more time.
Yeah, dramatic dissapointment...I expected him to be putting up like 20 & 7 this season, but instead his stats have been dropping since last season
However, I still see superstar...hes just hit that Sophomore Slump harder than anyone else right now..
alot of people say he needs a shooter which i agree with. im very disappointed in salmons because i really thought he would step up and be a 18-20ppg scorer this year and so far he looks very average. ben gordans departure has hurt his and roses game alot
hes not yet the defensive player he could be... which is disappointing... also he doesnt have a surefire scoring threat to play along with... i think the bulls highest scorer besides rose is deng at like 17 a game... also hes comin off an injury... remember its only his second year of playing.. and, think of the good cluth situations he came thru in the playoffs against boston... not to mention rondo was gaurding him..
yeah but those clutch sitations came with having ben gordan on youre team which open up lanes and made teams play honest defense. without ben they dont have to play honest defense and can help which will make rose shoot more jumpers since he cant get in the lane like he would be able too last year
I'm not sure he is a star or superstar but i do think that even if is or becomes one he is more of a role player star. He needs a shooter and another star on the team for him to be effective. a shooter and a big man will open the floor more for him to get in the lanes and do what he does. Salmons doesn't cut it
I love Rose but I cant argue with this one....You need a jumpshot to effective in the NBA and he has nothing resembling that....Although that is not his only problem he doesnt have that mindset to completely take over
this brings me to a old post...do ya'll think rose and eric gordan have that same mind set?..both have the ability to do more but not have the mind set?
check out my story!
Westbrook > Rose
sorry guys .
As of now, I have to agree with you R-Dot-13..as much as it pains me to agree with you on this topic lol...
Westbrook is also playing with a superstar and has better teammates... Rose hasn't played up to his capabilities, but a good portion of that is due to his teammates. They're not making buckets. He has no driving lanes and his jumpshot isn't consistent enough yet. Westbrook has closed the gap, but I can't say he's the better player. I can say that he's playing better right now though.
Derrick Rose hasn't been the type of player that we thought he would be this season... I expect a 21 and 8 kind of numbers and more of an aggressive play from him but he hasn't shown that aggressiveness consistently... Yes, he aint a superstar but as a fan, I am waiting patiently... Take note, Rose is still 21... He can still prove me wrong.
As one of the biggest Derrick Rose fans out there...sadly I must agree. He hasn't taken the step up that everyone expected and really, even with the ankle injury being factored in, just hasn't seemed to have gotten better at all. I hope he gets his stuff together because he could be great.
. i still like westbrook better for the fact that hes new to the pg position yet he played it almost as well as rose last year. okc is a better team this year nd alot has to do with durant but alot also has to do with westbrook. defense always helps and westbrook is very good at that as well as being very athletic and being able to get his teammates the ball where they need it to score. i cant wait to see how good hes gonnas be once he fully learns the point guard position. seems liek alot of people are starting to switch to the westbrook side now
They're going to switch sides many more times because this is not something that can be decided in a season and a half. Rose was better last season, while Westbrook (and his team) has been better this season.
Rose hasn't played up to expectations this season, but his potential is still arguably higher than any point guard in the NBA not named Chris Paul and Deron Williams.
I agree, as of right now, Westbrook is better. But I think Rose has the potential to be better than Westbrook and every other PG besides Paul and Williams. And Brandon Jennings has a chance to be up there as well.
this will probably be a debate for years like the dwill c.paul with no right or wrong answer
