Bust!?

Can we call Oden...LOL just kiddin'
Is Adam Morrison a bust?
He did pretty good as a rookie, but his production went down throughout the season and he lost out on R.O.Y to Roy. Then the injury bug happened to him and he missed all of that season. Injury ironically occured against the Lakers who he now plays...excuse me, sits for. Honestly though, last season he had some pretty good games, but inconsistent playing time under LB. Then after the trade and now he hasn't got much playing time with L.A. Seriously though, it's his fourth season and I think it wasn't that bad of a choice for the Bobcats because well...outside of Roy, Aldridge, & Gay his draft class isn't real stacked. Rondo, Lowry, R. Brewer, & Millisap have all found their niche in the league. A few others like Gibson, Powe, Farmar, and Brown are doing good as well, but Brown found his way just last year after finding the right system. Who's to say Morrison can't find the same success? I just think he has a chance in this league to be at least a role player...I really want him to make it. My favorite College Player EVER. Real inspiration.

No Greg Oden isn't a bust.

No Greg Oden isn't a bust. And yes, Morrison is. Anyone who ever watched basketball knew Adam Morrsion was too slow and couldn't get his shot off in the NBA ala Casey Jacboson, Trajon Langson and Dante Calabrea.

The Larry Bird comparisons were ludacris and disrespect.

LOL...don't get everybody

LOL...don't get everybody started on Oden again

I think Morrison should go to the Knicks that way he doesn't have to play defense & he can just chuck up a ton of long ranger jumpers like Gallinari does. Seriously though the Knicks wouldn't be a bad option.  Overall the future isn't looking great but I'm not ready to call Morrison a bust yet.

Yes, Adam Morrison is a bust. He isn't athletic enough to play alot in the NBA. But he did have an unbelievable college career, so I could see why he would be a lotto pick. But top 3, where he was picked, now looks down right laughable in hindsight.

Absolutely, hes a bust...i mean, this is a given

For a number 3 pick, hes been completely incapable of bringing his game to the NBA, most guys even show flashes...I dont think he has shown any..i mean, he shoots, and.......

Are you guys kidding me.

Are you guys kidding me. Adam Morrsion comes along in college every year.....Sam Jacobson, Gerry McNamara, Jason Kapono. Are you guys serious??? I knew he was trash all along. And he was the third pick how many years ago????

And another thing Ricky Rubio, Morrison's rookie season was trash, lol. 13 pts on 39 percent shooting if I remember correctly.

Why did the Timberwolves draft FOUR points guards, lol.

Morrison was alot more

Morrison was alot more productive than those guys, he averaged close to 30 ppg if I remember correctly, and he was an intense competitor. I don't really fault Charlotte for drafting him, but I do think that for someone that lacks athleticism to the degree that he does, they should've let him fall to the late lottery and trade down for him or just passed on him for players with more potential.

ok lets not try to down play

ok lets not try to down play his college career. he may not have been a great or very good pro but he was a animal in college and casey, gerry nor kapono played as well or was as dominate as he was in college so go ahead with that. as far as getting his shot off in the nba he put up 12 a game as a rookie ..ive seen many players who seemed to be fast and able to get there shot off against many players never averaging double figures for a season. i cant fault the bobcats for drafting him either considering how good he was in college

Yeah, like I said...during

Yeah, like I said...during his rookie year his production dropped off which is why Roy ended up stealing R.O.Y
He averaged 14+ on 42%+ shooting for a good amout of the season, but that rookie wall hit him. Just putting that out there since you pointed out his 39%.

Morrison got 12 shots per

Morrison got 12 shots per game as a rookie because the Bobcats made him the focal point of the offense...He didn't respond well.

Morrison is a bust in every

Morrison is a bust in every sense. Dropping 28.3 ppg in college at a high level school like Gonzaga, top-3 pick, averaged 12ppg in his rookie season, and then....nothing. His game couldn't translate to the pro game because of his slow release and a lack of athleticism/strength. Kapono wasn't a lottery pick, so the comparison is null and void. At least he perfected his craft. The only thing Morrison has perfected is the towel wave and the pat on the ass to Kobe

Yes he is a bust. In the minimal playing time that I have seen him get with the Lakers during this season he did not have any ballhandling skills and his jump shot just isn't the same as what it was in college. He has a major psychological block.

Still Hesitant to Call Morrison a Bust

I'm not particularly sure we can call Morrison a bust just yet. Yes, he was the 3rd overall pick and hasn't done much, but he also hasn't been in the best situations, and you guys know as fans of basketball that sometimes production and success are just a matter of where you land. Morrison landed on a Charlotte team loaded with guards and small forwards, so playing time was hard to come by. His second year he struggled with injuries, and now he's on a Lakers team that has Ron Artest and Luke Walton at SF, where I bet it's also hard to get minutes. To his credit, he's shown some promise in the Summer Leagues. He's not going to be the 20 ppg scorer we figured he'd be, but if put in the right situation, I think he could have a Mike Dunleavy-esque breakout eventually. Dunleavy, another former 3rd pick was also called a bust early on in his career with GS, but when he moved to Indiana his production grew a lot. The same could happen for Morrison if he's traded.

He is a bust

He needs to go to an uptempo type of team like gatorheels said I think that he can do pretty much what JJ Reddick is doing in Orlando they are like the same player almost in my opinion. And everyone should have saw this coming remember Jordan drafted him and we all know what type of judge of talent he has hasnt picked a good one yet. But he is a bust to be a #3 pick he hasnt done anything and he looks like he has no confidence even when he gets in the games during blowouts.

bust. easy. And even

bust. easy. And even watching him when he does get minutes this year he shows absolutely nothing other then being able to knock down jumpers. His ball handling, defense, rebounding, finishing in the lane, passing are all bad. He seems to have lost all confidence as well. Hopefully he's saving that money because he might not have a very long nba career. But you can't knock what he did in college. He was a stud and much better then the guys DHamp mentioned.

hey dhamp..how you figure he

hey dhamp..how you figure he was the first option when gereld wallace was then raymond felton then emeka???..and morrison ended up coming off the bench? then he gets hurt the next year and just now coming back from injury?..so if a guy who put up numbers like he did thn gets injuried is a bust then what do we say about a guy who was drafted as a lotto pick and gets 10min a game his rookie year then 11-12 min a game his soph year while not being able to out play a average starting guard?..wit stats like 6ppg 2ast 1turnover?...would that guy be considered a bust?..lets see if by not knowing the nme of the player what people will say

He's fun to watch in summer

He's fun to watch in summer league, it kind of reminds you how great of a scorer he was in college. As far as the NBA is concerned though, he is a bust, BUT a bust with a ring.

3rd pick ahead

If Morrison was the 3rd pick and you know that guys like Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, Rajon Rondo are still up on the draft boards, what are we going to call him? That's right... He is a B-U-S-T... He never really lived up to the hype and I thought with his conditions and weaknesses, he SHOULD have dropped in the draft but he didn't... Michael Jordan bit the hype and he added another woe to his already dirty GM resume...
