Chicago Bulls and LeBron James

We always hear about Dwayne Wade potentially landing in Chicago... Why don't we hear about LeBron James landing in Chicago? Depending on next season's salary cap, Chicago could be $20+ million under the salary cap.

Here are the teams that could afford to offer LeBron a max deal (I'm not saying that he should go to these teams, that they're great fits or that he'll even consider them... Just saying who can afford him.)

Chicago - As I said... They could have over $20 million to spend. They have a solid young core in Rose, Noah, Deng and Hinrich... Thomas too if he re-signs. I doubt LeBron would play in MJ's shadow, but I'm just throwing them out there.

Minnesota - Obviously, they won't have a chance, but they'll be close to $19 million under the cap. They do have Al Jefferson, Kevin Love, Jonny Flynn, Corey Brewer (He's played well this season) and Ricky Rubio (Whenever he decides to come over). They also have a bright coach with championship pedigree.

Oklahoma City - I know they already have their superstar small forward in Kevin Durant, but wouldn't LeBron compliment Durant well? They could have close to $19 million to spend, with ALL of their core and key pieces still under contract. They have arguably the best young core in the league, plus they're winning now.

Sacramento - Why not? They could have almost $17 million to spend, plus they'll be returning all of their core. This team has a very nice young core, plus they're overachieving as a team right now. They have a very good coach and great owners.

Once again... I'm not saying that LeBron should go to these teams, that they're great fits, etc. These are just the teams that we never hear about that can afford to sign him.

U said it perfectly in the

U said it perfectly in the 3rd paragraph.

"I doubt LeBron would play in MJ's shadow"

He will not go to Chicago for that reason alone I believe.

I doubt it also, but... If

I doubt it also, but... If Wade would, why wouldn't LeBron? I know Chicago is Dwayne Wade's hometown, but still...

I figured that if people and even the so called "experts" think the Clippers have a chance to land LeBron (Thinking that he'd share a city and an arena with Kobe), then why don't the Bulls? They have some nice pieces and the money to afford him.

D-Wade to me has been

D-Wade to me has been Chicago's Sun. It makes more sense to say he would go to Chicago.

Realistically, I see LeBron James not going to Chicago because he's the best player in the NBA...wearing 23

He does not want to live in MJ's Shadow. D-Wade really wont live in MJ's shadow if he goes to Chicago.

Lol...true. For some reason,

Lol...true.

For some reason, I feel like Micheal Jordan doesn't accept Lebron. I feel he accepts D-Wade. JMO

IDK about that... Remember

IDK about that... Remember when LeBron used to go to Jordan's camps when he was in high school? I damn near want to say that LeBron James broke his wrist at one of Jordan's camps! I'm not sure though!!! MJ and LeBron have a good relationship, which I think stemmed from Jordan Brand trying to sign LeBron to a shoe contract before he was drafted. Wade didn't have that good of relationship with Jordan until he switched to Jordan brand shoes a couple of months ago.

No my bad!!! He broke his

No my bad!!! He broke his wrist during an AAU game in Chicago and Jordan recommended his personal orthopedist. The orthopedist monitored LeBron and Jordan's personal trainer rehabbed him. That's when they developed their relationship though and it went from there.

I doubt it...

I didn't realize how much under the salary cap they will be...

But I really think its up to what the big man of the 2010 Free Agent class do...

You have

Amare
Bosh
Boozer

D-Wade has said he would love to play with D-Howard before LBJ... So the next Athletic Big Man out there is Amare (if he played D and rebound it would do wonders for him)

Then Bosh

Then Boozer...

I think Wade and LeBron knows in order to be successful they will need that dominate big man in the low post... BUT one thing you "tezo" and everyone else forget is that the Cav's and the Heat will be under the salary cap too... So potentionally they could have 2 max players with their supporting cast... So they don't have to go to a team with nothing to surround them with like the New York Knicks...

The whole point of the post

The whole point of the post was to name the OTHER teams that will be able to afford LeBron, NOT the teams I think he'll go to or who'd be a great fit for him. The only teams we hear about on a regular basis are the Knicks, Nets, Heat and of course the Cavs. I'm not saying he'll go to any of those teams. I guess people hate hearing information on this site. I'm one of those people who try to learn as much as possible about the salary cap, so I thought I'd throw some information out there.

And tuck243 I'm not a part of that "everyone else" group that forgets Miami and the Cavs will be under the cap and be in the position to add another max deal type free-agent to their teams. The Heat will have enough to sign LeBron straight up, even if Wade didn't opt out. The only way the Cavs will be able to sign another max deal free-agent is by having LeBron opt out first. They'd then be able to sign a max deal free-agent (Bosh or Amare if they want to go the big man route) and THEN re-sign LeBron. Both Miami and Cleveland are willing to go over the luxury tax, so I was never clueless to this.
