has anyone watched a sixers game this year????

Is there a worse team in the ENTIRE nba at closing out on 3 point shooters.. it seems like every game some team is shooting 50-60 % on them from behind the arc... There consistently getting beat one on one, and then theres the good old help side defense (there rotations on help side Defense are HORRIBLE)....Then bang another 3 ball.. Im so sick of it. IMO Carney is there best on the ball defender..99 % would argue Iggy but Iggy reaches too much, and takes too many chances (HENCE SOMEONE NEEDING TO PLAY HELP SIDE DEFENSE ON IGGYS MAN)....Last night Carney got 4 minutes of play against another tm (Thunder) that killed us from 3.... IM excited about AI coming back, cause point blank there isnt much to be excited about. The entire team is horrible right now.. Watching jrue holiday play was the only bright sign / enjoyable part of the game for me last night.. Iggy makes too many stupid decisions (including his reach on Durant, where he got crossed up, and then Durant dunks).. SLIDE YOUR DAMN FEET WILL YOU...

opponents are shooting 41% from 3 against Philly. - link is below, that shows philly is worst in the lg at defending the 3...

Its painful watching my Sixers these days... Where are the George lynches, aaron mckies, eric snows, and tyrone hills when you need them.. I used to think they were so boring to watch, now i appreciate them more than ever..

Yes

The team is pretty bad...Elton Brand is simply horrible...A.I. will definitely make the team fun to watch but it's only a gimmick, your 76'ers won't be actually improving in any way with him. Maybe actually regressing.

I have a question though. What do you think of Jrue Holiday? I don't have time to watch all the games but when I catch him I really can't tell if I'm impressed or not. Is he in the 76'ers plans as the future PG and do you think he has that ability?

Yea I've watched all their

Yea I've watched all their games....nobody has defended well on the perimeter. Not even Iguodala. And I remember specifically against Phoenix earlier in the schedule, they closed out lazily on Richardson and Dudley which is why we lost the game. Last night, Durant killed Iguodala for not closing out right.

He seem super fast

He seem super fast (holiday)... Seems to already be the teams best passer, and plays with confidence.. I think he will be a solid NBA PG.. Good size, nice handles.. Most impressively he along with Carney seem to have the ability to lock down their man.. IM curious to see if he hits any sort of wall during the season, but for being the youngest player in the nba i like what im seeing so far.. (hes 19).... I dont want to say i love him yet, but hes heading in the right direction!

yo igoudala i remember that

yo igoudala i remember that suns gm clearly.. JARED FREAKING DUDLEY.. i want to say he hit 4 (3's) on us pretty much all down the stretch.. Yea we definitely blew that one... Last night though was especially bad.. I mean ok (help side Def is fine), but Dont leave durant... Plain stupidity..

at least monday we'll have fans in the stands... I just need a little excitement.. The last 2 years i had lg pass i thought the tm played extremely hard.. (we lost to det in playoffs then orlando last season)... I just want to see them put the same heart on the floor they did those 2 previous years.. If they played hard for 48 i can respect that. I know they are going to need time to grow.

I think Holiday can develop

I think Holiday can develop into a Delonte West type player, which isn't bad at all. But yes, Carney has improved on D, and he's a better ball-handler now, still not a very good handler, but he can get to the rim other than in a straight line now.

in my eyes (and i know some

in my eyes (and i know some are impossible to move, but what id like to see)....

PG - Jrue / Lou (keep both, even though i see lou going back to bench, since he cant play a lick of defense.. His spark on O would make him a Jason terry like 6th man) (Royal Ivey can go)

SG - I dont believe Iggy is a SG.. This is our biggest dilemna. Thad, Iggy, nor kapono are suited for the 2. Willie Green plain stinks.. he can go, and never come back.

SF - Were loaded, but we may need to make a move in order to fulfill our needs. Anyone who has seen me type knows i LOVE thads game but theres no way were moving Iggys contract so maybe Thad needs to go (im so mixed on my feelings here).. Keep Carney / Iggy and get rid of kapono and get something nice for Thad!

PF - I like Jason Smith, and i think once he gets this full year under his belt he will be even better next year... Im sure the thoughts of the injury from last season linger in his mind... Speights is a man child and our future at PF...Brand - get outta here.

C - Dalembum - PLEASE GO... Brezec - PLEASE GO

What id like to see stick around ultimately if you didnt read my rant

PG - Jrue (eventual starter after this AI experiment part duex) / Lou (6th man / combo guard)

SG - GOTTA FILL this SPOT

SF - Iggy (starter) / Carney (bench)

PF - Speights (starter) Jason smith (bench)

C - GOTTA FILL THIS SPOT

Jrue / Iggy / speights / smith / lou carney i like this core.. I also like Thad ,but he might need to be a back up under sized PF as an additional spark off the bench in similar fashion of what id like to see from Lou.. Who knows but i feel if you throw in thad with dalemberts contract maybe that will make tms open up more to the discussion of it.. Until then we shall sit below mediocrity.. Prove me wrong Sixers.

I think that Iguodala

I think that Iguodala should be a 2-guard, he's better here than at the 3 because he does a better job defending 2's than 3's from watching him. All of his worse defensive performances come against SF's (Lebron, Durant, Paul Pierce etc) while he's defended SG's better this year and previously (Joe Johnson, Vince Carter etc).

But Thaddeus Young really would be a good player to think about shopping, even though he has rebounded alot from the beginning of the season. I'm not real big on Thad, at least not as much as alot of people, but he does get the job done offensively and with his upside and production he should have plenty of suitors.

maybe defensively ill give

maybe defensively ill give you that... at 6'6" he struggles against some of the bigger guys. He should do a better job on pierce (pierce is just a crafty vet)...they could always sign a 3 who can shoot the rock and defend.. No matter which they do it, they need a LEGIT shooter who can also defend..

Kapono can shoot, but hes HORRIBLE on defense..Maybe start AI / AI / Carney / Speights / Jason Smith (defends the pick n roll better than any of our bigs).... At this pt im willing to see any change that could be a success...

Kevin Durant was getting

Kevin Durant was getting wide open shots....I could not believe that last night...when you combine the horrible defense and maybe the prettiest 3 point stroke in the NBA, your in for a rough night

wow

I did not know that there were other Sixers fans out there that were as pissed off about our defense on the 3 balls as I am. This team is in such limbo right now it's unreal; they got no direction or anything. I like your idea about moving one of Iggy or Thad since them together clearly isn't working.

i think itll take some time.

I went to bulls sixers a few weeks ago... they played well at the start but just blew it and let the bulls back in it and couldnt close on the road..

I think part of the problem is the princeton offense. Its difficult to master and can be tough to find a rythym because its very structured and theres less 1on1. I think as the season goes on and they all start to get more comfortable with it, they will play with more passion on both ends. I think it just may be hard when guys are always thinking on offense, and when the offense isnt flowing on a young team, effort on D slips.

I read a little while ago that Thad was struggling with it....

Jrue Holiday

With the signing of Allen Iverson, Jrue Holiday will be able to learn and play with one of the greatest players of all time. Hopefully he can gain the required IQ and drive needed to succeed in the league. The kid is only 19, and has a bright future ahead of him, especially now that he can learn from Iverson
