the g'town vs butler game should be very good. every year this event happens it reminds me when i first meet jimmy v. at the time i think i was around 9 or ten and my brother was a sr in hs. he was ranked top 25 -50 player and top 10 center in the nation. nc tate was recruiting him very very hard and he actually signed with them. at that time nc state was unc, kentucky, duke.( they were a top 2,3 teams). we went to his house and it was the biggest house i had ever seen at the time and had a jacuzzi in the middle of the living room( looking at it now it wasn't that huge but at the time we were poor and i was 9,10 so...) also had a pinball machine in his basement and a big screen tv in front of the jacuzzi( never seen or even heard of one up to that point) from what i remember he was a very nice respectful guy and very funny. i met a couple of other big name coaches who recruited my brother( roy williams, rick barnes etc) but jimmy v was the only one that seems to have stuck out because of his personality and if he would have lived longer i know i would have signed with nc state because of him. it's till sad to me that he was taken by cancer
My mom and dad are friends with the big man on their championship, Cozell McQueen. He's the biggest person I've ever met personally (6'11 275 I believe he is now), and he always talks about Jimmy V's personality and how it is one thaat you'll never forget. He seems like it, everyt time I watch that speech he did just before his death, at the ESPY's, it chokes me up a little. He seemed very inspirational, and wise, and it's said that he's gone. Him and NC State's women coach Kate Yow, both died of cancer sadly.
i think i meet him. my family is real close with derrick wittenburg from that team. you have to meet lorenzo charles..that man is HUGE
