Toronto Raptors

As a Raptors fan, I can't even watch the Raptors anymore. Every year its the same issue over and over again. No defense! I'm watching the Raptors game right and they aren't playing no defense whatsoever and its so frustrating to watch them and this has been happening all season long. Calderon is playing terribly on D, leaving Bibby open for wide 3s and Bargnani can't move his feet and defenders are blowing right past him! Turkoglu is good one night, disappears for the next few nights! Raptors are known as a shooting team and they aren't even shooting well. Players are being so soft, examples such as Pierce's cheap dunk on Bosh and no one stepping up to defend Bosh and even go to the basket the Raptors are being soft. In the first half of the Hawks game, Bosh has only attempted two field goals which is absolutely outrageous!

Now I have a question for you. If you were the GM of the Raptors how would you handle this kind of situation? Would you trade players? Blame the coach? Weigh all of your opinions and let me know what you guys think would be a 360 change to this Raptor team.

Already

Already 100+ points in the third quarter???? And the opponent is the Hawks? That's insane man... The Raptors don't play any D at all... This is probably the easiest game for the Atlanta Hawks because they don't have to exert themselves physically... Josh Smith is a beast downlow... Marvin Williams found his groove... Al Hroford is having those beastie nights... Mike Bibby and Joe Johnson are toying them... Heck, even Joe Smith found his groove and managed to score 10 points byfar... It's a long night for the Raptors...probably a long season...

42 and 39 in 2nd and 3rd quarters?????

NOTE: Jay Triano looks like an English professor teaching at Harvard...

CB4

Unlikely performance from Bosh... 2 points 5 rebs and 1 TO... with just 2 attempts... The only way he scored was his free throws...tsk tsk

OMG i feel the same way, I

OMG i feel the same way,
I cant even watch anymore, I switched to the Bucks game.
No D, we need to make a trade, Turk, Jose or Andrea need to go,
We need to land a scorer at teh wing, a young guy, someone like a Nick Young, JR Smith..
Someone like that, plus Wright needs more minutes, so does Amir, only 22 players who play any D,
Im actually embarrassed to be a Raps fan.

Too many soft players...if

Too many soft players...if they don't improve soon, I'd trade bosh as soon as possible, because there's no way he stays if they're back in the lottery.

Jay Triano is not a good

Jay Triano is not a good coach
It was a mistake firing Sam Mitchell in the first place
also, adding Hedo this off season for that much money is a very bad choice
but thats the past, and for the raptors to move forward
I think the first thing they need to do is trade Bosh, everyone knows he aint gonna be here next year, so trade him, and get something in return, hopefully a draft pick and a young player
and seriously consider trading Jose Calderon, he is overrated, and dose not deserve that much money, trade him while he still worth something.
I dont mind Andrea staying, he showed some flashes, and could be a very good power forward.
In conclusion, I dont think the Raptors have a chance to make the playoff this season, unless Brian can make some magic happen and make a blockbuster trade, the probability of them making the playoffs is zero.
If they keep losing like this, they might even have a chance to compete for the #1 pick in the next draft

PLEASE fire COLANGELO

That's right Raps fans. I'm going there. The almighty BC needs to go if they can't turn this season around.

It's very convenient to blame the coach but it was BC's decision to bring him back.

It was also BC's decision to bring in the defensive wizard and "old pal" Marc Iavaroni, the mastermind behind the legendary defence in Phoenix during the D'Antoni days. And yes, he's in charge of the defence here too. That's a pure stroke of genius right there.

It was BC's decision to overhaul the roster and collect a bunch of jump shooters that basically do the same thing. I love how Hedo Turkoglu chucks up ill-advised 3's in the 4th quarter and plays no defence. That's exactly what we needed.

The "blame the coach" bit is getting old. You can blame the players but guess whose decision it was to keep defensive stalwards Calderon and Bargnani? I think you have the idea by now.

Hate to say I told you so, but I knew this was going to be a problem from the moment BC set foot in TO. We may be an international city, but first and foremost we're a hockey town. Some hockey grit and hustle is exactly what this team needs, and I'm very skeptical BC is able to bring these people in, except for the back up 4 spot. Unfortunately, one player who plays 20 minutes of hustling and rebounding (Amir Johnson) isn't enough. Get rid of the eurosquad and Colangelo please.

Re: PLEASE fire COLANGELO

Idaho, I couldn't agree more. Everyone says this guy is trying to shape the Raptors to be the next Phoenix suns. I say NO. He's shaping the team to be the next Maccabi tel Aviv or Benneton Treviso. haha.

If anyone's noticed, the last ROTATION European player to win a NBA finals was Toni Kukoc, back in like 97 with the Bulls.(Ginobili's an S.A.)

The Raptors have like 4 in their top 6 players. Historically speaking, a team like this has never won. I thought that above stat speaks for itself just because the NBA's like 1/8th European or something like that and in 12 years, none of those Europeans played a large role in winning an NBA championship.

The Raptor's model just plain isn't suited for the NBA. Colangelo needs to go. So does Triano.

I mean, a combination of Dr. J as GM and...... Rampage Jackson as coach would stand a better chance of winning an NBA championship than Colangelo and Triano.

Trade Bosh while we can still get something for him.

To Dallas
Chris Bosh 6-10 PF Georgia Tech 25.4 ppg, 12.2 rpg, 1.6 apg in 35.8 minutes
Marcus Banks 6-2 PG UNLV 1.3 ppg, 0.0 rpg, 0.7 apg in 1.9 minutes
Hamed Haddadi 7-2 C Iran 0.9 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 0.3 apg in 3.6 minutes

To Memphis
Josh Howard 6-7 SF Wake Forest 12.7 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 22.4 minutes
Jose Barea 6-0 PG Northeastern 8.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 4.1 apg in 24.2 minutes
Kris Humphries 6-9 PF Minnesota 6.8 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 0.4 apg in 15.4 minutes
Jordan Hill 6-9 PF Arizona 3.6 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.2 apg in 7.1 minutes
Matt Carroll 6-6 SG Notre Dame 0.9 ppg, 0.4 rpg, 0.3 apg in 4.4 minutes
Shawne Williams 6-9 PF Memphis 0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg, 0.0 apg in 0.0 minutes

To Toronto
Zach Randolph 6-9 PF Michigan St. 17.8 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 2.0 apg in 35.0 minutes
Hasheem Thabeet 7-3 C Connecticut 2.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.0 apg in 9.5 minutes

Bosh to Dallas, Chris goes home and plays beside Dirk, where Bosh become a 2nd scorer. Banks and Haddadi in throw in the mix for salary cap.

Memphis acquires Josh Howard to replace Rudy Gay when he is either traded or becomes UFA, Barea becomes Memphis backup or staring PG. They also get Jordan Hill a player I thought that they should have drafted 2nd Overall becomes there starting PF to play beside Gasol.

The Raptors get Zach Randolph and Hasheem Thabeet. Zach can put up the same number as Bosh, and Thabeet is that defensive centre that the Raptors need. Bargnani and Thabeet could be a scary 4-5 combo.

i didn't think the hedo

i didn't think the hedo signing would be good but i expected the raptors to be above average, they simple have no bigs to stop a low post scorer and weak defense at the wings.
