SHOULD RAPS TRADE BOSH
I THINK THE RAPS SHOULD TRADE BOSH BEFORE HE LEAVES THE TEAM VIA FREE AGENCY. WHAT TEAM WILL BE INTERESTED IN GETTING BOSH FOR SOME YOUNG TALENT OR DRAFT PICKS. WHAT IS HIS VALUE. WHAT DO U GUYS THINK
Yes they should trade Bosh, but the problems are the equal value thing as well as Bosh approving a move by resigning with his new team ASAP. The Raps would want a high draft pick AND young talent, which to me eliminates 29 teams at least. The only team I can think of the Thunder, which will at best finish in the lower teens of the 2010 draft, and they have current talent and cap space to attract a star but for some reason I don't see it happening though, which is why the Raps may be in a no-win situation.
I think they wont but I think they should.....He is an elite level talent but will not stay with them next year, he is the least likely of all the free agents....Lets say a team like Miami goes after him looking to resign him....The Raptors could get Beasley possibly and a 1st round pick...thats better then nothing for the Raptors
BC will wait to see how their record plays out by feb. trade deadline.
yea thats true too but even if they make the playoffs i still don't see bosh back in toronto
Please trade him to the Sixers for Brand! hahaha just playin, no one wants that contract
It wouldnt be a bad idea, Hes there best player...but hes not taking them to the playoffs on a consistent basis, and its probable that he'll just leave them this summer
Some team will give them a couple of 1st rounders, and some young talent...wouldn't be a bad idea
Im a huge raps fan, and every night when I check nba.com, I always see TOR in gray, which sucks.
I remembered when they added Hedo, someone compared the Raps to the Magics from last year (I did not think the same way tho), thus the anticipation of the Raptors doing good this season is very high.
Back to the topic, I think they should definitely trade Bosh before the trade deadline, since it is obvious to everyone that Bosh is not a part of the Raptors' future plan, why wait?
Trade him can only help the organization, if he leaves next year via free agency, the Raptors is getting nothing back.
Also if the Raptors can get some nice young talent in return (Beasley?? dont think so tho), they'll have 40ish games to get used to play with each other, which is way better than start off a season while trying to get the whole team on the same page.
So, personally I think trading Bosh is a good idea.
btw if they can get a couple of 1st round picks, there are alot of good PF talent in this years draft
I want a young talent and/or picks
Maybe a trade to GS for Ellis? Maybe add in a Randolph or a Morrow
NO for West and Thornton?
These are just some I thought of on the top of my head..
Maybe to Den for JR Smith/ Nene?
As a Raptor fan.... The supporting cast is kinda bad..... I mean Bargnani is good, Turkoglu is good, DeRozan has been playing solid.... but we don't players like Calderon, sure hes a good passer and shooter but he has no D! Neither does Belinelli. I think the Raptors need a tougher team and better defenders.
Bargnani is ok, Turk has been not good so far..
Belinelli can shoot the lights out when on,
I dont like Jose as our PG. No Defense, and i think of him more valuable when recieving the ball when he can stil dribble, maybe move him to the 2?
But he cant guard anybody.. and Its not helping
I said that he should be traded earlier this year.. I dont see him returning to Toronto...The Wizards are having trouble and maybe its time for Arenas, Jamison or Butler to go...They should try to put together a package to get Bosh...Atlanta should try moving Marvin Williams..Chicago can offer Deng or 1 of their young forwards...Detroit had a chance to draft Bosh in 2003 maybe they'll be willing to send Prince packing...
Jose hasnt been play like he was a couple years ago, when ppl was talking about him being an allstar
Chris Bosh, Reggie Evans, 2nd round pick for Antawn Jamison, Randy Foye, Deshawn Stevenson, 1st round Pick and/or Brendan Haywood?
This deal will likely not go down but if this could be desirable for both teams.
Washington- Arenas, Young, Butler, Bosh, McGee/Blatche
Toronto- Calderon, Turkoglu, Jamison, Bargnani, Haywood
Toronto would have a a big-euro style offense with slashers and multi-faceted scorers(Foye, Bellineli, Derozan, Jack )coming off the bench and Washington has the all-star post presence it needs to contend. I believe Blatche and Mcgee are ready to take the reins and if not, Oberto and Reggie Evans are both servicable defensive- minded backups who really only need to defend, rebound and get out of Bosh's way. It might also make sense to include Mike Miller to the Raptors for possibly a pick or another Raptors player. He is three point happy and would fit very well with the Raptors. Haywood, Foye and Miller are also all expiring contracts. I say give a deal like this a shot because neither team is having the kind of sucess they envisoned at the start of the season.
Because its gonna be hard to get equal value for Bosh for one. For two, they arent sure whether hes gonna leave or not. I mean you also got to think about the Cavs and Lebron. You think they really want him to walk away for nothing. But then again its just hard to justify trading these guys if they dont know for sure whether they are coming back or not.
If Chris Bosh suggests he will definitely leave via free agency then the Raptors would very well make ANY trade that relieves cap and gives them at least one desirable player or draft pick(s).
But that also puts the ball in Bosh's court. He can have total say in where he would want to be traded. This allows Bosh a chance to pretest a team he is thinking about signing with in 2010.
Ultimately Chris Bosh has everything to gain and the Raptors have everything to lose.. which is sad because the Raptors have just signed Turkododo to a very lengthy and expensive contract...
I like Toronto...And I think they can keep attracting European players, so not all is lost. If they bomb this season they might be in the running for Motiejunas or Jan Vesley (an amazing European player)--with Hedo and Bargnani it may seem gratuitous to have another similar player but if they can push each other and maximize their talents that team could be scary good.
Also Motiejunas and Vesley would be more likely to re-sign in a city like Toronto than American players. I don't know why exactly--but that seems to be the trend.
just a quick thought
if they have drafted Jennings instead of DeRozan, and trade Jose, or let Jennings play Jose's back up for sometimes. (because Jose have a history of not be able to stay health, I think Jennings will eventually takeover and they will trade Jose if that happens)
And instead of adding Jack, they could have got Dahntay Jones, who is playing very well this season.
This way they will have a good point guard and a defensive specialist, and if they traded Jose, they will definitely get some nice pieces in return
But again, this is just a scenario, in the offseason, no one could have predicted how good Jennings can play, and how bad the Raptors defense is.
Beasley and a 1st were mentioned, how about Jason Thompson, Kenny Thomas's expiring contract and the Kings first.
