KG and Duncan

Is it just me or are these two hall of famers starting to look old? To me this year it seems Garnett is just doing a lot of talking on the court and not enough balling. This guy was one of the b est rebounders now he's rarely getting double doubles. Duncan is playing good but he's just looking old out there. What are some thoughts about these guys?

Exact same thing i was

Exact same thing i was thinking today.......these guys aren't pulling off all-star numbers, and are showing signs of fatigue when they play. Still these guys are the best PF of the decades and Timmy D is debatebly the best of all time.

Its the chris bosh era right now this guy needs some love. Showing that he should be mentioned with the best of them and even that class of 03.

Yeah, both a step behind

Yeah, both a step behind there norm...

I think Duncan is actually looking good compared to what I was expecting from him, But I guess its because his game relys moreso on fundamentals and IQ, than athletic ability

KG always did alot of talking, but normally his actions on the court would do some talking themselves....now hes just talking

Both players do look a step

Both players do look a step slow, but think than they are also focused on staying injury free and fresh for the playoffs. T

Duncan

He's still doing very well and has been consistent with his season averages.
So even though he has slow a bit down, it's not hurting him too much in the games as oppose to KG who shows significant signs of aging and deterioration basketball wise

They are both looking older

They are both looking older there is no doubt but Tim Duncan is still playing fairly high level ball and he has simply coasted through the regular season for a number of years now and has still put up good numbers because his game is reliant upon basketball IQ as apposed to superior athleticism.

KG shows the greatest signs of losing a step ball wise however, he is coming off of knee surgery that forced him to miss the second half of the season so his lack of explosivness should have been expected to some extent. That lack of explosivness has really caused his rebounding and shot blocking/altering to suffer grievously this year.

Finally Kevin Garnett will also be a mouthpiece no matter how deteriorated his skills become, think of Gary Payton, he talked more smack than anybody i have ever heard, and he still does as an analyst. He will talk smack fervently till the day he dies because thats just who he is and KG is the same way.

Def. showing some signs of slowing down.

Since KG is back from injury don't know if he's slowing down becaz of that or just becaz of minutes and age.
He's still shooting 50% but his rebs are down
Celtics need to get Ray Allen and Daniels more shots and limit Sheeds shots he's always been a lil overrated shooting.
I know Rivers told him to cut down on the 3 becaz he's taking like 6 a game leave that up to Allen, Pierce and House.

Duncan has done fine his rebounding and defense been pretty good the problem with the Spurs is injuries.
Also the Spurs really are an old team with McDyess, Ratliff, Duncan, Finley and Ginobli.
The bench guys Finley, Bonner and Mason haven't been that good either.

Garnett

He started to slow down some in the past years too. He doesn't fight for rebounds as much, he just gets those he can box out or use his athleticism to get. Perkins does all the dirty work in the post for the Celtics.
I agree also that Duncan looks older. He is taking a lot of jump shots.

Garnett, and Timmy

Come on man. Duncan and Garnett will return to the prime as soon as Feb come along. All they are doing is trying to get back in shape and work in some of the new player they gain. Remember KG just had a major knee surgery, and Tim had just carry the spurs all last to the playoff with one good knee. I will say this when Feb come rolling around then we will see the Vets come back. Now on CB4 he is tough but he isnt the man on that team right now.

Tim Duncan's averages for

Tim Duncan's averages for the last 5 games. 20.3 ppg 10.5 rpg 5.3 apg 2 bpg. Duncan has never been a flashy guy so I think people forget about him. Of all the guys who've averaged 25 and 12 for a season, you probably heard the least about Tim Duncan. He is a little slower out there, but at 33 he is still an all-star caliber player. Un-related, I really expected more from the Spurs this season, they are vets so im sure by mid-season they'll be real solid, but what a slow start.

Speaking of KG... He hit the

Speaking of KG... He hit the game winner versus the Knicks today.

Both players are obviously getting up there in age... I mean, KG got drafted in 1995 and has logged A LOT of minutes. Tim Duncan was drafted in 1997 after playing four years at Wake Forest and has played in the playoffs every season of his NBA career. Both players have played a lot of games. Most importantly... They're returning from major knee injuries. You have to expect some rust because of that... It's still very early in the season though. By mid-season, they should be in top form.
