Knicks Ultimately Decide Against Iverson
I think NY would have been a team Iverson could have started for and he would not have worried about getting his shots, but I think in the long run NY doesn't need him. They still have some young talent on that team that needs to develop and he's not going to help advance that. He can boost the attendance in a lot of places, but even through the good and the bad, the NY fans turn up, especially at the Garden.
Iverson seems very content to go to a bad team. I think that only validates his reputation for being me, myself and A.I. Though in his defense no good teams want him. The year in Detroit was a nightmare, though a similar player in Ben Gordon seems to be doing fine in the same role. Then the whole 3 game thing with the Grizzlies really hurt him. I think it may take a team getting really desperate (i.e., the loss of a superstar scorer and needing a replacement).
iverson would love to go to a good team but theres no good team thats willing to give him a starting spot. ..and you gotta understand that its hard for a superstar to take a off the bench role..you know jordan wouldnt accept it..brakley and ewing was pissed when he had too...theres rarley that a super star is willing to come off the bench so we cant look at this like iverson woul dbe the only super star willing to do it
So where is Iverson to go?
Miami has an interest in him, but I think in the end they'll decide against it....
And theres allegedly another "mystery" team with strong interest...im guessing the T'Wolves
There GM basically said hes itching to make a move, and we already knows he has a strong like for PGs
And the T'Wolves were happened to be a "mystery team" in the Ramon Sessions saga
So who else would have interest in the 6'0, 34-year old, locker room cancer?
OR i can say..
So who else would have interest in 10x all-star, former MVP, Allen Iverson?
regardless of how its said...question is, What teams would be looking into picking up AI?
I think that Iverson has made it pretty clear that he doesn't want to come off of the bench. The Celtics would be an ideal fit because he would have a very legitimate shot at his elusive NBA championship, but he has to change his attitude first. Iverson should jump all over it if the Celtics decice to spring for a contract, even if it's just veteran minimum.
Celtics don't need him they have Daniels and House off the bench.
Thankfully Walsh used this brain for once and didn't sign Iverson.
Go sign with the Spurs since Ginobli is always hurt and Iverson can start there plus Poppovich won't take any crap from him.
I really don't understand why Iverson is regarded as "way past his prime" or "not worthy of being a starter". Does everyone forget that before the guy was traded to the Pistons he was arguably just as good as he had ever been. He was still putting up 26 a game with Carmelo putting up 26 while he was on the same team. The Pistons trade is really reminisent of the McGrady and Francis trade that pretty much ruined both of their careers. The only difference is Billups has done extremely well in Denver and AI is now a free agent. Sad, sad story for The Answer
Iverson is NOT way past his prime, BUT he needs to realize that he isn't the same guy anymore, and teams aren't going to start him over younger players that are the future of the franchise.
The only place Iverson could start is NY(Knicks)
He could start on plenty of teams.
The bad teams are rebuilding and don't want a vet with his me attitude though.
Look at some of the teams w/the lowest ppg like the Twolves, Bulls, Bobcats.
You'd think Larry Brown would know how to deal with him.
I'm interested on who takes a chance on him.

I say better in the long run....but the chance for a 2-9 team to sign one of the games greatest scorers at the veterans minimum is always something you gotta look at
