lazy first game but however 10 10 in just in 20mins looks veeery well, now 27points 18 rebounds 2blks2stls next to still well playing Wall and Patterson..crazy
nor Favors Davis Monroe Aldrich , just no one of top big men in the draft have nothing close already..i think he worth some discussions..
and little offtopic..i thought this guy is not as talented as Sidney so can wait sto see him, any news?
thats because they played against sam houston..a team where none of there big men are any good what so ever...aldrich, monroe are consitant beformers who have proved what they can do against good teams..cousins isnt and hes not no where near as talented as sydney..lets see what he does when hes not playing a big man who plays for university of who are you
but his rebounding ratio is huge is all those games and he can score even with jump shots and fast break if his strength isn't bigger than opponent's.
no one is doubting his talent and potential but hes not better then those guys you named above at this point..and possible he never will be because of his lazyness...most of the times people who have had that label throught there basketball careers dont change it and end up getting by but never reaching what they could be
we gotta stop being so quick to hand people these great titles just because of one game or a few games against bad competition...how abou twe let the players (especially freshmen) prove it first..because truth be told none of the freshmen has come in and just dominated like some of ya'll thought and a couple that ya'll thought were gonna from jump have looked pretty average
yes don't forget i said it also that Sidney is more talented imo, and he is one of TOP my draftees..but i;m afraid with things about him(laziness, no defense or even no games in NCAA)
there isnt any durants, beasleys, marbury, pervis ellisons, carmelos this year and theres nothing wrong with that. we also forget that these same all americans some of ya'll try to say are better then these are other players are in the same spot that cole, davis, monroe were in when they came into the ncaas'..they were also all americans and all state and mvps and just as talented and in some cases more talented yet they didnt come in and dominate either...there are always exceptions but i dont see many in this class
i;m not saying he is better no way , i don't think he is better than Favors, but others are questionable and i just said he looks better NOW(at the start of the season)
yeah he looks good for that game and the second half of that other game against who ever they were playing against but wit his talent you know he can do better...and yeah hes playing better then favors who is finding it hard to do the same thing he did against big men as he did against highschoolers
Aldrich dominated Memphis and has played limited minutes against the Jayhawks weak competition this season. Memphis was the only game he played more than 24 minutes and he was unstoppable down low, 18, 11 and 5 against Memphis is better than Cousins 28 and 18 against Sam Houston. Not to take anything away from Cousins, he has a higher ceiling than Aldrich no doubt, but I think Aldrich is the top big man in the country, they are just not playing him when they don't need him to win so his numbers aren't overly impressive except for his 4 blocks per. He'll easily be over his 15, 11 and 2 numbers from last season by the time conference play kicks in.
exactly joe..thats what i try to tell people.. now when cousins starts puttin gup those number sin the future in the sec or against good comp or even consistantly then ill give him more praise...right now him and wall are doing what they are suppossed to do against bad comp
Watch, Cousins will be a beast come conference play. They are adjusting on the fly to college basketball, and everyone should expect a learning curve (which is what Cousins went through in the 1st half against Miami of Ohio). I think they'll prove to be lottery worthy when the schedule is in full effect. I hold true to my predictions, it's only been 3 games.
wall average 37 mins
bledsoe average 36 minutes
patterson average 33 minutes
cousins only average 21 minutes
in 21 minutes he average 14.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2 blocks
some says xavier henry was the best freshmen so far, henry average 16.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 assist in 26 minutes
today GT game.... favor scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 100% fg
this year freshmen class > than last year freshmen class....just give them a time to adjust, watch out also to sir LAnce
those asre skewed....put the numbers up when they play a good team...and conference play..you put most allamerican freshmen against low level d1 schools and chances are pretty good that they will put up good numbers..no difference then putting a heavy weight with potential in the ring with a feather weight
1st game - 7 point, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3/4 from field, only 18 minutes...... i think thats ok stat
2nd game - 10 point, 10 rebound, 2 blocks, only 19 minutes...... not bad either
just give him more games before you judge him as overated. i do think hes underated here
hes overrated compared to what someof ya'll was saying during the summer that these guys will dominate and be as good as beasley which is far from the truth..i expect them to be good but they were way overrated by some of yall...and those stats look good against a good team..not miami of oh,sam houston, george mason, and morehouse,,,,its just fuunny that some of the same people put down eric maynor before he played duke and stephen curry before he played a good team saying "they arent playing against good comp" but dont hold these guys to the sam standard...and if it doesnt matter who they play against then i guess the kid from arkansa who had 51 against alcron state should be 1st team all american at this point and be projected as the number one pick in the draft...ill repeat lets wait till they play against good comp first...i still like x henry but i noticed how it wasnt as easy to score 27 against memphis when you have to guard good players as well as be guared by guys who are as or almost as athletic and skilled
against bad comp you are suppossed to play well so its not a big suprise...the question is can you do it against good comp because the good comp isnt even on the level of the comp you are gonna face once you get in the nba(even the second untit on a nba team)..i can understand if someone says.."he has the potential too or he might" but to say someone is gonna do this or that when they havent played against any good comp makes no sense..i guess thats why when teams scout from low conferences they like to wait till they play against good comp before deciding if they are daraft able
when xavier henry score 27 points against weak team, most poster here praise him. if cousins do the same, hes overated lolz
wall in 36 minutes playing time.....20 pts, 4 reb, 7.3 ast, 2.7 stl
bledsoe in 34 minutes playing time ......14 pts, 2.8 reb, 3.5 ast, 1.5 stl
patterson in 33 minutes playing time.... 19 pts, 12 reb, 1 blk
cousins in 19 minutes playing time ..... 15.5 pts, 9.5 reb, 2.8 blk, 1 stl
they all played against your so called weak teams, not to mention that patterson is already a junior. why cousins overated? if cousins overated, what about wall, patterson, bledsoe? they played the same teams and they played longer minutes than cousins. danniel orton playing 14 minutes, average 6 pts and 3 rebs againts your so called weak teams, 6 pts and 3 rebs was ok for a 14 minutes playing time but the 15.5 pts, 9.5 rebs and 2.8 blks for 19 minutes playing time, that was impresive especialy for a freshmen.
its ok for me to call cousins overated if you called wall, patterson and bledsoe overated too. but if you single out cousins, playing the same teams and playing lesser minutes with those kind of stats, i see hater.
overrated compared to some fans expectations..but right where he should be according to scouts expectations which were lower then fans on here. ..not sure which poster praised henry because i know i said lets wait till he plays against better competition (which he did against memphis and wasn't as dominate. some of ya'll fans have just put unrealistic durant, beasley, oden type expectations on some of these guys
