Rose & Bulls biggest disappointment?
As a team the Bulls are playing ok but the they have to be concerned with their personnel...Rose is a huge disappointment. 13pts 5 A....I understand he is nursing an ankle, but he has not even shown glimpses of dominance..He just doesn't quite get it, he it middle of the pack in terms of young point guards...Salmons is even worse..They underestimated the importance of a scorer like Gordon, and they need 20 PT guy...
They didn't underestimate the importance of Gordon... He was always important to them... They just felt he was overestimating his worth. He's not worth $50 million dollars.
Rose isn't the same right now... Period. You can just look at him and tell. He doesn't have that same balance, change of direction, explosion, speed and quickness. He's young and athleticism is a big part of his game right now. Add that to the fact that teams are playing him differently and he's struggling right now. I'm more than confident that he'll turn it around when he's healthy and when he does... The Bulls will turn it around as a team. This will all be a learning experience for him.
When Derrick Rose came into the league, nobody ever thought that he would immediately make an impact, even if he was the 1st pick overall in the deep 2008 Draft. Yes, some voted for him to be an ROY prior to the season but most and majority of the votes went to Mayo and Beasley... During the season, he started making a few headturns and made a very big impact on a veteran but inexperienced team like the Bulls who needed Rose to step up as a starter... He was very very impressive averaging nearly 17 and 6 to ultimately win the Rookie of the Year... He stepped up because nobody put pressure on him that year...Nobody expected him to be the guy for that draft. Now in his second year, the fans have plenty of expectations after his superb season performance... And it puts a lot of pressure especially after having a great year. So far, he hasn't shown up yet, the REAL Derrick Rose, I mean... Injuries and improvised defensive strategy limit his freedom on the court and thus his numbers came tumbling down... I ain't giving up yet... That would be stupid if I do... I am a huge Rose fan... He just needs time to keep it going...
Remember Chris Paul had a great rookie run and everybody was talking Oh How the Hawks should have taken him...blahblah... CP3 was the near unanimous choice in his rookie year but after an injury-plagued second year, nobody talked much about him... That's where he erupted in 2008, just his 3rd year in the L, and helped New Orleans go deep into the playoffs and Paul went on to be a runner-up for the prestigious MVP...
rose even stated in a interview that hoopsworld has that he doesnt even know why hes playing the well he is..he says he is settling for the jumper instea dof driving more...my opinion i still the same after watching the bulls, after losing gordan they dont have anyone who can spread the defense which hurts rose because it closes up the driving lanes that he would have more with ben out there..even when kirk is out there teams dont respect nor fear him from deep like they did ben...i dont think chicago didnt appreciate him they just didnt think he was worth the money he was asking for and i agree....and although paul was hurt for some games his second year he was still putting up 17 and 9ast
Injury can not be an excuse, everybody gets banged up and if your out there you must perform. The way this yr group of PG's are playing..last yr seems less impressive from Rose...Even injuried he should at least perform the way he did last yr because the Bulls needed at least 20 & 8 from him. He is a pure athlete at PG closer to Steve Francis with out aggression then Kidd as they first compared him too
is anyone watching the laker game or the past 3 games?..its not the ankle because he is exploding and driving past whos guarding him, its him shooting more jumpers and the fact the driving lanes arent as open with no ben gordan
ben gordon leaving hurt them
