Players That are Stuck!!
This is just me, but dont you think that Maggette would be an amazing fit with the Celtics. I mean he is ok with coming off the bench for a bad, young team so he would be excited to come off the bench for the Cs. IDK how they could get him but he would provide some bench scoring along with something they lack, athleticism. He is a good defender. He doesnt mind deferring to better players and he accepts his role with every team he is on. I dont see why the contenders like LA, Orlando, Boston, ect are going after this guy.
I can see why u think Maggette would be a good fit, but lets be honest here, he is super selfish. Every magazine article or online article that I've ever read about him always talks about how selfish he is. Plus he is totally one dimensional, he needs to score off of isolations and he doesnt pass or move without the ball. The Lakers offense requires movement and passing, the Celtics wont take him because he isn't a very good defender and is a poor mans version of Paul Pierce who can only score on iso's. The Magic wont take him because he isn't a very good shooter and will only take more shots away from D12.
the thing about nick young is hes not consistant and doesnt have a very high basketball iq..yeah hes talented but hes also limited..when he gets alot of time sometimes he plays well then other times he looks totally lost out there and tries to just get by with his athletisim..hes a good player but i dont think he has it in him to be a first or second option..maybe third
I think Nick Young of course, but his teammate Dominic McGuire also needs playing time. He can be a very good player in the NBA with more time. Best case: He could be doing what Trevor Ariza is doing right now, scoring at a decent rate and providing everything else whyile defending the other team's best player. He's a perfect fit for a team like the Lakers or Spurs.
I hate to say it but Marvin Williams is stuck... With guys like Josh Smith, Joe Johnson, Mike Bibby and NOW Jamal Crawford capable of scoring 20 a night, Marvin's role is pretty much limited now... And what's worse is that he just recently signed a long-term contract with the Hawks... As a Tar Heel fan, I want this man to get better but with so much players who could fill in the role he could give, I don't think he'll be a factor on Hawks getting W's... He needs a change of scenery...
Who are some players that should be moved but seem to be stuck where they are??
Elton Brand - Brand obviously was thought to be the scoring threat to relieve AI in Philly but so far, its not happening. Now, for the 6ers sake, Brand needs to be moved. When I think about the PF position across the NBA, I cant think of a place that Brand can go. Most teams have a great vet, promising young talent, or great defenders at the PF spot. Now, while Im thinking about places he could go, I dont think of places that he would come off the bench. I cant really find but like 2 or 3 places where he could go and start. He wouldnt be much of an upgrade or any upgrade at all most places. One place that really comes to mind would be the Pistons, but lately, Challie V has really been playing well and the Pistons say he is part of their future. He could possibly play for the Kings in a trade for Thomas as a salary dump but they have Thompson in their future. The Knicks play way to fast for him. The Bobcats could use some help but Diaw is a do it all player that is really playing well. Something in me says Cavs... IDK why. Verajo has already been moved to the bench because he is so limited and clogs the lane with Shaq and Hickson really doesnt seem like a long term plan. Dont look for a trade to happen for Brand because to be honest, he is probably the most stuck player in the NBA.
Nick Young - This guy is always getting hype on this site. The Wiz arent going to move him because of Arenas. They are keeping him incase Arenas goes down and they have to start Foye. If that happens, Young is now in the rotation. For him, he desperately needs a place where he can go and spread his wings. There are teams that want him out there, but the Wiz are holding on tight because they may need him. No trade is going to go down for this guy because the Wizards dont have a need to fill. They have every spot, 1-12 filled and are happy with who plays them. Right now, they are better off keeping him than trading him. He is very very stuck on that team and for now, the bench.
Jerryd Bayless - Another guy, like Young, that simply wont be moved because his team doesnt need anything. Right now, any trade that they accepted probably woudnt be of full value for this guy. The Blazers are smart to keep him incase of injury to an old guy like Miller or a prolific player like Roy.
