this kid is the real deal. i

this kid is the real deal. i impressed with the points, but that fact that he found the time to get 5 assists too is also very impressive. proves that he can be a legit lead guard he can score and pass when he needs to. very impressive

Just won rookie of the year

Easily. Incredibly impressive, and I am sure his success will continue. I had Brandon Jennings rated as the best amongst this draft class, but I for some reason thought Blake Griffin would win the Rookie of the Year. Little did I know how flawlessly Brandon would translate to the NBA. He is a very special athlete and talent, who just managed to do things the right way for him. I think he has a good head on his shoulders, as much as people seemed to have doubted that, and that his play so far just shows that he is going to be a winner in this league. His teammates seem to be very supportive of him and he is actually winning games for the Bucks! People almost saw him as a poster child for taking the money and running to Europe, but he definitely knew what worked for him and he is a very special and different case. There are not many players like him, and I think what he went through in going to prep school and his course in basketball definitely helped his transition. The European game definitely did not have anyone like him, which I am sure made him an anomaly and probably confused his coaches, teammates and opponents. Well done Brandon, keep up the good work and keep making the Knicks look utterly ridiculous for not picking the perfect player to run a D'Antoni offense (and who is a ball hawking defender as well). If Jennings were on New York, LeBron would most likely have all the more reason in the world to go there, not saying that he will not be a Knick next year, but Brandon would have been a major incentive compared to Jordan Hill.

i'm watching espn and

i'm watching espn and Jennings got a whole 30 seconds of airtime and right after that they went into college football for like 20 mins. i swear basket ball gets no respect. they didn't even cover the pacman boxing match for very long. i think espn has a bias towards anything football and especially anything that has to do with Brett Favre, it's seems like if the man has to take a &$#%#&@! they have to cover it.

the knicks should've. he would've been a great fit for them.......duhon is an alright player but he's basically a back-up. when he's done playing he'll make a great coach though

Brandon Jennings

I always loved that guy game and I compared him to Iverson. He's the lefty verison of Iverson. He's amazing.

Dude is a monster and I

Dude is a monster and I thought he would be the best point guard in this draft but not this soon. You could see he has superstar potential but who knew he would put it together so soon. His time overseas really helped. Also it is still too early to say Knicks should have taken Jennings because we don't know what Hill does but the thing is to me Hill was just a bk up plan if Lee left because right now they don't have a place to put him. I am kind of glad he went where he did because Skiles is probably the perfect guy for Jennings like Larry Brown was for Iverson. Bucks future is looking better and better. I would like to see them move Redd for a younger shooting guard with star potential. They should be able to add a star in the making power forward next year. Alexander to me is set to be a bust.

Wow

damn 55 pts on only 34 shots and just 4 to's.
Anyone see this game, you guys definately right about ESPN their college football coverage is crazy.
How many teams look stupid passing on this guy basically everyone from 2-9 Toronto & OKC get a pass.
Wow Kahn took 2 pg's over this guy, Twolves, Kings, Knicks gotta be kicking themselves passing on him.

Not sure about the team besides Bogut and Jennings the starters are nothing special.
Redd is always hurt and doesn't play much defense, Joe Alexander probably a bust.
They need another big man definately sucks that their capped out though next year.

kini wasnt too sure about there team either but they are winning and all there wins arent against bad teams..alot of people write them off because they dont have the sexy names but anyone who watches them can tell there team isnt that bad because everyone plays there role and they play very goo defense..not saying they are great but they arent that bad either a team..they play like a TEAM should play

OK. I love this guy but

OK. I love this guy but still said that i just need to wait that can he be in the same level longer, and Tyreke has better chances...this is it , i don;t know what more i want, he proves everything...he is monster, yes Reke also and could play even better than Blake this year, but Jennings just prove he is the ROY. no more questions , i'm in , i'm jumping in his bandwagon too

Great

It was a great performance and to say he did it by following through what Scott Skiles' structure and not break any of their game plans...

The Warriors played no D since the first minute... Such a lame team...

Kid was amazing..

But the Warriors definately have a tendency to allow a player to have a career game.

Timberwolves should have

Timberwolves should have picked him. They need a perimeter player who can score. Flynn could be good, but Jennings can score better and is a better overall player.

Jennings and the 2009 Draft

Since this is NBADraft.net, I thought it would be interesting to review all of the selections made in the 2009 draft prior to Brandon Jennings. With the knowledge you have today, see what you think about each team and each selection.

For me, Blake Griffin and Tyreke Evans were outstanding choices. You can review the other selections below and make an argument for Brandon Jennings.

I think Minnesota made a huge mistake with their two choices, not only in terms of Jennings, but they drafted 2 PGs, which I thought was ridiculous. It makes you wonder why the Timberwolves record is so horrible. And you can try to figure out where the Knicks would be today if they had B. Jennings instead of Chris Duhon.

1 LAC Blake Griffin F Oklahoma
2 MEM Hasheem Thabeet C Connecticut
3 OKC James Harden G Arizona State
4 SAC Tyreke Evans G Memphis
5 MIN Ricky Rubio G Spain
6 MIN Jonny Flynn G Syracuse
7 GS Stephen Curry G Davidson
8 NY Jordan Hill F Arizona
9 TOR DeMar DeRozan

haha i still crack up at

haha i still crack up at some of the excuses make for saying how overrated BJ is. I dont care what anyone says, he is better than Rose was as a rookie and is better than him this year to. I wish he was on the ballot for the All-Star game so i could make him the starter for the east because he is definetley the best pg in the East so far. 55 frickin points is a crap load of points people no matter what team you drop them on. BJ FOR ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Jennings has proved himself impo,

ONe question was Curry guarding him?

i think he can still be a

i think he can still be a starter if enough people write him in. yeah doing it in skiles offense made it just as sweet..he should easily be a double double guy for his career since he can obviously score and is a great passer as well..could have easilt got double figure assist again if skiles didnt tel him to go do his thing

Yeah, let me get in on this....Kid can play, flat out. I always liked Flynn because as a Syracuse fan, I watche him more and I had never saw Jennings play in high school. He looks good. No doubt about it. He also gets along very well with Andrew Bogut and WANTS to give him the ball!!!

My ONLY thing is that, is he in the Iverson mold? If so, you have to build your whole team around this guy.

Dhamp2...the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.

at first i was kinda

at first i was kinda thinking the same thing before the season started but after watching him and the stuff skiles says how he plays within the offense and looks for the open man(and you can see it) you can tell hes not like iverson..we knew from day one iverson wanted to score first and second..with jennings he looks to get the man involved and is more then willing to make a pass as much to shoot a shot and he takes good shots

i can't believe i'm just

i can't believe i'm just getting around to these jennings post, but off of quincey hodges last assesment I agree, he's a more willing passer than iverson, but he's the type of player like scott skiles said, "i told him to takeover the game and he did, i don't know how but he did", i guess taking over the game could be 55 points against the warriors, 32 and 9 against the nuggets, or 17, 9, and 9 in his first pro game.

I always said he was good, i was right, now let the bandwagon riders continue to get on, i'm driving the bus but room is running out for the rest of you. lol
