Hornets weren't winning with

Hornets weren't winning with a "supposedly" improved team. If you get the GM to make some changes and you aren't winning as a coach you gotta expect you lifespan with that team will not be long.

It terms of the right move to make in firing him can they really to any worse? Only time will tell if it's a good move.

I don't think the Hornets

I don't think the Hornets are very good at all after seeing them play a couple times. Peja is way past his prime, Julian Wright is not as good as they expected, and their hole at shooting guard is very obvious. Even David West's numbers are down, Okafor is playing pretty well, better than Chandler is anyways. Paul, West and Okafor, and getting surprisingly good production out of people with the last name Brown isn't going to win you a lot of games in the west. I think it's more personnel problems than coaching, but thats the business.

west is not playing anything

west is not playing anything like an all-star. Peja looks like he should be on the unemployment line, he can't even wide open shots. Zero depth or help for Paul. This team looks terribel, and a coaching change can only help. But I agree the players need to take a lot of blame on this.

Did not see that coming, I

Did not see that coming, I mean..the Hornets havent been off to a great start, buts its still very early, and hes only 3-6. Bad, but not horrible.

Regardless, I see them missing the playoffs, a solid lottery pick will be VERY good for them

Just imagine a Al-Farouq Amini, Terrico White, Willie Warren, Evan Turner alongside someone like CP3

Even though, i think CP3 will be asking for a way out sometime soon...

They might as well hire Chris Paul as the coach, he'll be the first ever coach/player...at the same time! lol

It's a shame that the talent

It's a shame that the talent of Chris Paul is being wasted. Byron Scott can only do so much. KG in Minnesota is a great example of what is going on now in New Orleans. You can't play 1 on 5 or 3 on 5 (okafor, west, paul). The team needs serious help, and a high draft pick for a wing would be a nice addition. Anytime your team takes a hit from losing Rasual Butler, it says more about the team than Butler's skill level.

David West

If you want to pick a particular player for the team's slow start, David West's performance is a definite culprit. A guy praised for this hard work, emerging as a star after a slow start to his career is not performing to the level of his caliber. He's more than a legitimate 2nd tier star with two All-Star appearances, but is not showing it. 15ppg is his lowest average since the 2004-05 season. Also only averaging 6 rpg.

Observing last night's game vs. the Suns, he was awful in getting his position in the post, and even worse in defensive rotation. Very mechanical with his post attempts; defenses could simply cut off the pass, or alternate their approach each time and he would be flustered. On defense he was picked on quite frequently for his lack of solid defense, particularly on pick-and-rolls. They went at him at will, and it opened the rest of the spread offense.

And before the last few of games where's he's averaged 9ppg over the last three, James Posey performance was alarming. He's currently only averaging 4ppg for the season.

Stojakovic, Peterson, and Wright have largely underachieved for a few years, so no need to go into detail with them.

Obviously, coach Scott is at least somewhat held accountable for the team's overall lack of fundamentals and effort. But other than Chris Paul and some from Okafor, they players did not exactly do their best to help out their now former head coach.

I just read that Hornets GM

I just read that Hornets GM Jeff Bower is taking over. Not a lot of coaching experience there. He was primarily a scout and director of player personnel before becoming GM, he was an assistant under Silas and Floyd. I personally don't think he is the guy to turn it around this season. Then again, I don't know much about him. Do you guys know anything more about him?

Byron Scott

Is A Great Coach And I'm Sure Chris Paul Doesn't Agree With This.
Tim Floyd(Former USC Coach) Will Get The Job Next Season Watch.

And He Can't Coach.

I thought it would happen

I thought it would happen sooner. Scott is a good coach but after the Hornets had to rebuild, he was not the right coach. He does not have patience with young players and loves his vet too much. Their vets do not have the talent level to hang in the West so you have to rely on youth and maybe deal with youth mistakes and for that you need a different coach. I will say New Orleans talent level is not there but then again look at Houston. Houston is missing two of their top players who are both max contracts and are winning with hustle and great team play. T- Mac's time in Houston is over because he is too much money for really not making them any better

they are so overrated. cp3

they are so overrated. cp3 is the best pg in the league and makes them look even better than what they are. west and okafor are role players at best. this team needs some real talent to compete

..

I blame Bryon Scott for the Hornets terrible play. They don't know their defensive coverages and defensive schemes. They look lost out there. Second of all, none of their shooting guards are producing and WTH is Marcus Thorton doing not starting. They traded for this kid because they like how explosively he was able to produce offense and what is Bryon Scott doing, not starting or playin him at all. No one has any idea how much of a scorer Thornton is and summerleague proved that also.

I don't think you can go as

I don't think you can go as far as saying scoring a lot in summer league proves you can get it done in the NBA at a starting level ( ex. Adam Morrison) I think Thornton is a good 2nd round pick, but he's not the answer to their woes at shooting guard. I see him more of an Eddie House than anything.

my old roommate Jeremiah

my old roommate Jeremiah herbert from Louisiana, he says Marcus Thornton is from there
Marcus Thornton gots game, its just that
this would be an easily exploited backcourt
as far as size wise. 6'1 and 6'4 backcourt? Scott wanted to focus on defense and the team wasn't built for that, he should have put a running team out then again they just got Okafor playing into shape, I guess he missed the 35 suicides in training camp lol
Scott 2 the Hawks? we need discipline
(not 35 suicides though that's a bit extreme) Okafor can come too lol
