Eric Devendorf

It PAINS me to say Eric Devedorf plans to sign with a team in Israel next week. He was at the Syraucse game last night, which was broadcast on ESPNU.

I'm very, deeply hurt by this. I would rather put this info out myself rather than someone else.

They'd rather not deal with

They'd rather not deal with cockiness in the NBA. They are clearing out the whole breed, Marbury gone Iverson gone. Look how low Jennings was drafted.

DHamp i have to say that i

DHamp i have to say that i disagree with you sometimes but i am with you on Devendorf. I think he is decent but i think the personality issues hurt his reputation a fair bit. I don't really blame him for leaving 'Cuse early because his numbers last year were probably the best he was capable of. Hey man at least he's turning pro, some don't make it. I think if he can build a good image over there then he could be invited to the NBA one day. I guess the next time we will see him in action is summer league next year.

Devo was actually a good

Devo was actually a good student who graduated on time, eventhough he had another year of elgibility. He should have came back this year and it would've been his team. The ACL injury hurt him because he became Syracuse's leader two years ago when Flynn and Donte Green were freshmen. He was actually the team's point guard until Flynn came, so he moved to the shooting guard position. He was leading the team in scoring at 17 ppg when he was injured. He came back and it was his and Flynn team, but Flynn handled the ball. Anyway, he's a guy you would love as a teammate and hate as an opponet. But year, at least he can earn money and take care of his family.

ok enough

i understand ur a syracuse fan and i like them as well but wow, get off the kids nuts already, i've been coming to this site for a few years and am sick of u drooling over eric freakin devendorf, he is a decent player and shooter don't get me wrong but come on, the many 'cuse games i watched, he was pouting ALL the time, let it affect his play, while a capable passer, would not look to do so even with an open teammate. he would have to play PG, and he has no PG skills, hes a pure shooter who can't defend a SG, lets be honest, Dahnty Jones wud prolly score 30 on him. hopefully he can make a nice career in europe, but he does not deserve to be in the league unless he vastly improves his game and attitude. i also wudn't mind if he faded away either so i can stop hearing about him from u

also

if you were the greatest basketball mind, next to hubie, you would be able to look through any allegiance to "your team" and see this kid for what he really is. I remember u posting before this last draft that both paul harris and devendorf were good enough to be drafted. that was funny stuff

his cockyness had nothing to

his cockyness had nothing to do with him not being in the nba. there are many cocky players in the nba..and iverson would still be playing if he would accept commin goff the bench..and the celtics offered steph another contract this year but he turned it down...eric isnt in the nba because hes not ready..i can see him eventually making his way after a couple years overseas if he decides to try his luck again

I'm not a hater, but I don't

I'm not a hater, but I don't think Eric Devendorf will play 1 game in the NBA. Best of luck to the guy, but to me he is just a very good college player with not a lot of pro potential. Even before Jonny Flynn he wasn't a distributer and his turnover numbers were high, He would be a scoring pg in the NBA, and unless he can learn to be a distributer he won't make it in the NBA.

Getacomb

getacomb, what kind of name is that anyway, you're a clown. Why do you have to start disrespecting me. Obviously, you have no clue who I am so it's cool. I've never heard of you on this site, lol! Anyway, for the record, I haven't posted anything about Devendorf IN FOUR MONTHS, SO WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. YOU'RE AN IDIOT.

And he can't defend?? Before the injury, he averaged 2 stls. And he's not a 6 foot 4 point guard. Hmmmm. I seem to remember him starting a the point guard position. I seem to remember him starting point guard at Oak Hill Academy.....AND THE WON THE NATIONAL TITLE THAT YEAR. HE WAS THE LEADING SCORER.

Now, will he play in the NBA, probably not, but when you call me out, know your stuff.

im not sure anyone can

im not sure anyone can truley say how good his defense is( you cant make aarguement about someone being a good defender because they averaged 2 steals..al that takes is getting into the passing lane or reach around..it doesnt tell you a person can play some d) because we all know syracuse very very rarely ever plays man..they play zone all the time so who knows if he can play good man defense or not. im not sure he can play the pg position in the nba but i know he played it in hs and a lil in college but you dont have to be a good pg to play it in any of those leauges...i dont think he would be able to guard any nba point guards but i think he coul dbe a good off the bench shooting guard and find a nitch liek eddis house or kapono did cuz when eric is on he is a very good shooter

Devendorf is one of those

Devendorf is one of those good/great college players that aren't quite NBA level. Devendorf would be at best a 12th or 11th man in the NBA, and with his cocky flair, how well would that work out? No team puts up with their 11th or 12th man pouting....their not important enough to pout lol. But I did like Devendorf in college, but he simply doesn't have an NBA future from what it seems.

Devo was a college player

Devo was a college player who was always surrounded by negativity outside of the court. The alleged Halloween fight, (I have a couple friends who were at that party), his torn ACL, his friend getting shot and paralyzed that same year, he always seemed to find himself in some kind of controversy. Basketball skill wise, he's an underrated passer, a very underrated athlete, and an excellent ball handler and finisher. The fact that he's an undersized two guard with lots of off the court question marks is why he wasnt a good NBA prospect. His sophomore year he showed lots of talent and excellent scoring skills, but he had far too many issues for a team to draft him. I wish him the best as he's a very talented basketball player with serious talent, and should find himself doing extremely well in Europe.
