Knicks

I know they aren't really good and only won one game so far. But should the knicks try out there lottery pick Jordan Hill since Darko isn't really helping. I mean it is early but nothing is working for them, I think they should try out there pick and see what will work to win a few more games.

It's A Little Too Early In The Season

I'm one of those guys who thinks Jordan Hill will eventually become a good player for the Knicks, however, at this stage of his career, he isn't ready . In addition, it's a little early in the season to start with the let's give up mentality so we may as well play our rookies.

As for Milicic, he hasn't shown anything, but I doubt it if anyone could do much when you play only 6 - 10 minutes per game. It's very hard to get into the flow of the game and develop a rhythm.

One of the big problems for the Knicks is rebounding, and as great as David Lee is, he's usually over matched in terms of size playing against other centers . If I were the head coach, I would experiment with Milicic at Center and David Lee at PF to see if that helps improve their rebounding.

DWadeBIW, if we were at the mid-point of the season, I would agree with you.

It looks like we agree about Jordan Hill, I think he will eventually become a key component in the Knick's rotation.

As for Milicic, I realize he hasn't shown anything and I'm making excuses for him again, but I would like to see D'Antoni give the guy some extended playing time to find out once and for all if he can play. I still like my idea of playing Milicic at center and Lee at PF to see if that can shore up their rebounding.

I like Hill and i think he

I like Hill and i think he will start getting some regular minutes about half way through the season. He looked a little lost in the pre-season from what I saw and he needs to earn those minutes. But I do think he will be a very solid pro soon.

I think Jordan Hill can be a

I think Jordan Hill can be a mix of Chris Wilcox, when he was good, and Ronny Turiaf with less defensive toughness. Meaning, he'll be a good scorer despite not being very polished and he'll be a good rebounder and shot-blocker. He needs more strength and awareness, but he has the frame to develop into a specimen and he's fairly new to the game so I think his awareness and basketball IQ will improve with experience. At his peak, expect about 16 and 9 with 1 block a game for good measure. I think he's going to be very good for them and a key member of their core for the future.

With that said, he's not ready to play anytime soon lol. He's a little too unpolished and weak right now. But by next year, he'll show good development, and year 3 will be a breakthrough.

Big O, That's a Good Question

But if Jordan Hill is still with the Knicks, I agree with iguodala9, by that time he'll be a vastly improved player. I also agree that right now he just isn't ready for the NBA. But you know what, the Knicks knew before the draft that he was relatively inexperienced and a long term project.

Agreed

Definately need to play Darko for extended minutes to see what he can do, he's the only 7 footer on the team.

lol..you cant cut him that

lol..you cant cut him that makes no sense still his money still count against youre cap..you have to keep him and just wait till his last year...teams will trade for that contract since it will come off the books that next year..also when healthy he isnt that bad of a scorer..not the best rebounder but he can score

No doubt about that

No doubt about that Q... But the things that are expected out of a big man is that not only could he score inside, which Eddy is really good BDW, but he could also rebound and block shots... SO far Eddy hasn't shown the desire to do both that's why he's a wasted talent because he has the tools, he just didn't want to "jump" which Scott Skiles reminded him for back in the Bulls days...LOL

You can dip Eddy Curry in

You can dip Eddy Curry in batter and fry him... He's done.

At this point... All Walsh and D'Antoni are tying to do is get him healthy and showcase him a little, so they can trade him. If they can somehow trade Curry and Jeffries, they'd be even closer to their goal of landing two big time free-agents in the summer of 2010.

yeah but whos dumb enough to

yeah but whos dumb enough to take them this year?..the ones with money dont want those 2 and even if they did they wouldnt take them because they know the knicks would have more money to go after the free agents that they are gonna be going after....and you know neither is gonna take a buy out because that would be just plain dumb on there part

Walsh is sweating more and

Walsh is sweating more and more as each day passes lol. I can tell you right now that he wants to get one or both of them traded by the deadline. I seriously doubt anyone will trade for them, but nothing surprises me in the NBA. If Memphis could trade Pau Gasol to the Lakers for Kwame Brown, then anything can happen.

Anything can happen

Anything can happen at this point... Eddy's contract will be one of the most wanted once it expires and I do think a lot of teams would want a hold of it... Or it could also possibly end up like Raef LaFrentz's at Portland where Pritchard just let it expire without getting somebody in return. Eddy's size is undeniable but sometimes size and talent can be beaten by hard work and David Lee has proven that he can be a double-double guy... Knicks don't need Curry anymore... But he is a guy who could be a piece to a strong 2010 FA or not in the next next season's Knicks plan... As of now, we can never really tell...

Eddy Curry= Oliver Miller

Hey MarcusFizer21, where was Eddy Curry on your list of players that should have been better. He has the offensive skills and size of Shaq (less natural athleticism). The man has no passion or work ethic. Could have been a dominating player, such a waste.

see thats the thing..just

see thats the thing..just because some on is big doesnt mean they should have been as good as another player..if he showed dominate skills then i would say they should have been..i think eddy was what he was when he had his best season..he was never gonna be as dominate as shaq by any means..his defense was never good and hes always been a below average rebounder

They should've drafted

They should've drafted jennings..he would've brought some excitement to those loooooooooong suffering knick fans...utah have their draft pick in 2010 and it looks like it'll be a top 10 pick...besides lee they don't have any players the other teams want...the team is in such turmoil i dont expect the top tier free agents to go there..they might have to settle for an often injured aging superstar like mcgrady...

i wonder who utah will

i wonder who utah will pick..my guess is a shooting guard unless they draft top 2..in which case they probably will go after favors and try to make him a 3

Yea, it depends on where

Yea, it depends on where they pick but I think they should go after Evan Turner. He's going to be a good player in the NBA, probably a Brandon Roy clone.

for years the knicks have

for years the knicks have had bad gms...they got lucky in 85 when ewing was giving to them by the league...lol..they never surrounded ewing with players that would have help win a title..knick fans & longtime season ticket holders should sue layden, isiah, debusschere, grunsfied, bianchi, checketts and stirling..and force them to GET THE TEAM OUT of the MESS THAT THEY CREATED!!!!!

Jordan Hill is a bum. He

Jordan Hill is a bum. He doesnt have anywhere near the same toughness or tenacity that Turiaf or Wilcoz have. He is a big softy. Once again the Knicks whiff and draft a bum over a potential star. Keep it up BJ. At least Gallinari is finally showing what he can do.
