Greg Oden needs a personality

The talent to dominate is there..But he seems to uninterested..He really needs something to get him motivated..His foot work is bad..He commits silly fouls..He needs to stop thinking so much and just play..They say big men take time to develope.Oden might be 1 of them..Maybe things are starting to turn around..After 3 games he's averaging 10 rebounds- 3 blocks a game in just 23 minutes..In practices they say he can hit several 8 to 10 feet outside shots, on a consistent basis..But he never does it during game time..

He has a great personality

He has a great personality off the court. He's humble, funny and just a good person. On the court though... It's another story. During the summer, pre-season, etc... He was starting to show more personality on the court. He was smiling, laughing and talking on the court. You could just tell that his confidence was high. He looked like he was having fun and enjoying the game.

That's all of the sudden changed now though... He doesn't look like someone who enjoys playing and looks like he's lost confidence. It's sad because he worked so hard this summer. I don't know if it's because of the constant foul trouble (some fouls deserved, some not). It seems as if the refs have targeted him as being foul prone and don't even give him the benefit of the doubt. In my opinion, Nate should leave him on the floor sometimes and let him learn to play without picking up the next foul. The Nets did that with Brook Lopez the other day. I don't know if it's because of his lack of offensive involvement. I mean, he knows he needs a lot of work offensively, but his teammates could still get him the ball in spots where he can dunk it. He plays for a jumpshooting team and it looks like they're just playing as if he's not on the floor.

In my opinion, Portland hasn't helped him improve, nor do they use him right. I blame Portland and not him, because he's still so young and I KNOW he has an amazing work ethic. He does too many little things wrong. They should've hired a big man coach by now. If I was Coach Nate, I'd have Oden watching videos of all the past great centers. Oden has much more talent and is better than what we're seeing right now.

The season just started though and I'm sure he'll get things turned around. He just needs to focus on the things he does well right now. The rest will come. He'll get better.

the guy i just playing

the guy i just playing though..what makes u think hes thinking so much..he right right he is suppossed to be as far as a player thats raw on offense..he attacks the boards and block shots...hi foot work is actually attributed to thinking too llittle cuz he gets it and just goes alot. ..its the fans who are thinking other wise and tryin gto make him into something that he jut isnt ready to be yet..i was the same way with bynum when he first got started..it takes time with big men ..alot of time just gotta be patient which i can understand as a fan its very hard to do because mot of u want a player to reach there potenial now instead of later..we all want players to come in and be shaq or amare from the jump but it just doesnt work that way most of the times..that why i praise duncan because he was mart enough to know he just wasnt ready to play int he nba and wanted to be the best he could be before heading to the nba instead of going there not ready then possibly having his confidence shattered.... for portland other then the foul trouble oden is doing what they want him to do..rebound and blks..the fans are the ones expecting a big out burst of scoring

thats why its up to the

thats why its up to the player to go out and get someone to help them either in the offseason or hire one during the regular season..this is the beg times now you cant just sit an wait for someone to do things for you..portland did go out and hire brian grant for him but it up to oden to go out and seek someone to help him..like how kobe went out and worked with the dream..oden could have did the same thing..its up to the player to figure out how good he really wants to be
