Brandon Jennings = young Allen Iverson
i just said it in other topic..
BTW can we talk just in one topic , why there is 4-6 topics about Jennings
yeah, lol..Brandon Jennings probably has 10 topics with his name in them over the last 2 days
Well, Jennings is more 'pass first' than Iverson, but the similarities are there
well, this topic does bring up an interesting thougt, is college a stupid option for top prospects? I mean, in europe you get paid, but you also don't stand out as much because it is a harder transition. I remember early in the process before the workouts people saying Jennings might be out of the lottery. He then played his way in, but was still only taken 10th. So is it a good idea for top guys to go overseas?
I say this time and time again..............Jennings doesn't attack the basket even close to how much, and how hard A.I. did/does. I mean Jennings could get to the basket but instead he shoots fadeaway J's with a hand in his face. A.I. could give a &$#%#&@! less who was under the rim, he would drive recklessly.
Brandon Jennings is playing well, but he's a rookie. There's not a lot of game film on him for oppossing teams to scout, so coaches/players are unfamiliar with his game. I'm eager to see how well he does once teams start gameplanning to stop him, etc.
I agree wtih Tezo (as usual) about Jennings. He is playing well, but him playing more consistent than of any of the Bucks after the 1st two games will cause opposing teams to focus defensively more on him. In terms of any comparison, he reminds me more of Mo Williams as opposed to A.I.
yeah there are about a million post now but can we really complain (me included) when we go and say something in each new post?..lol...the euro thing is alot better option and heres way...when a young guy with talent goes over there he gets more time to practice and work on his game with experienced coachs( in college you have a limited time) you get to play against pros everyday 2 times aday which gets you better prepared for the long nba season. youre not catered to like you would be as a star in college. youre going against grown men who have years of experience. you learn the lil things that nba guys know. alot of the guys you play with or against have been in nba camps and can tech you lil things the nba coachs taught them. and the learning curve isnt as steep once you get into the nba once you get there so you can perform better earlier so its better long term for you. think about how teams passed on jennings because he didnt dominate in europe..now the next kid that goes over and does the same thing , the teams are gonna think twice about passing on him.
haha, I posted a thread/topic about Jennings as well, but dude has been playing his butt off!
He deserves all this after dropping to the 10th Pick, I love watching him play and I'll be sad to see NBA League Pass go bye-bye after today probably. I watched both games, well recorded last night and watched it when I got home and BOY did he turn it up int hte 3rd. He carried that team back, I'm telling you, Bucks can make the Playoffs. He won't need to score so much, but Redd was off last night and Bogut has struggled. Jennings has shown his range which was thought to be his weakness and the announcers continued to mention that throughout the first two games. R.O.Y in my mind, Flynn and Curry are his competition until Blake comes back. I don't see any other Rooks competing with any of them.
you got lambasted because you had never seen him play...you said all he can do is windmill and take bad shots which is what was shown only on youtube..in his games or scouting film he doesnt do those things so youre view of him obviously came from youtube....horrible way to scout a player...youre post BIG O
"it doesn't matter if he's a pass first PG>>
he's NOT A THREAT to score; the easiest way to generate offense is to pose a THREAT TO SCORE draw defenders
he was a highschooler going over to a pro team thats right below the nba?
off of what high school? u said it urself "nba players go over there and get cut sometimes"
all HYPE, point proven
I've seen Jennings play, and high school was all windmill dunks and questionable jump shots
WHY is HE IN THE NBA? politics/hype
what has he shown anybody? POTENTIAL"
College a stupid option for top prospects? I don't think so. Jennings paved the way for players to play in Europe rather than go to college. This is going to prove to be a case by case option. Jennings is the first ever to do so, that doesn't mean every top prospect can succeed in the way he did. So in 1995 when Kevin Garnett did well as a rookie after skipping college from high school, it was a dumb option then? There have been plenty of high schoolers who made the jump in the late 90's and early 2000's who's draft spot could have been improved by a year of college. Jennings is a success story 3 games in to his rookie season, yes. That is exactly the case. Every top high schooler from here on out is not going to have the same experience.
Yeah, I agree, but that doesn't make college a stupid option for top prospects.
youre right joewolf it will be a case by case decision...its a great option for most and europe might be agreat option for others who are very skilled/gifted but arent that great in the classrooms

he is making the knicks look stupid and college look like a stupid option for top prospects.
