Kevin Durant is a good player he is tall but needs alot more meat in his bones. Can shoot the ball, drive to the hoop and finish. So why are people talking about him and saying he is a average player. From what I seen of him he looks to be a All Star to me, I think he will make the All Star team this year. He plays with the Thunder so he doesn't get much attention but alot of good guys play with bad teams and don't get recognition for what they do. So people Durant is a good player.
he can survive without getting bigger as long as he gets stronger..he doesnt even need to do that really because hes shown that at his weight and strength he can still be effective..alot of guys havent gotten awhole lot bigger but did pretty well( reggie miller, tayshuanprince, kg)..i think it coul dbe a valid arguement if he was constantly struggling to finish because of his size or constantly injured because of being too weak or thin
True those guys have gotten no bigger and have had good careers. I am just saying if he is going up against someone bigger than him he might need more weight or strength.
yeah but hes also gonna be going up against another sf who is bigger..probably not taller....and prince goes up against guys who are bigger then him all the time..and sometimes taller and does pretty well..durant has been in the nba for 2 years now and has done well against bigger guys
Yea Durant maybe be skinny and weak, but his arms are so long that it offsets alot of things. His lack of weight and strengh limits him some on D, but he's shown that he can be an elite player without it. He's much more than average, so whoever said that can kick rocks.
Kevin Durant is a superstar waiting to explode.
Him or Carmelo will lead the league in scoring this year.
I got my money on Melo, he really has looked unbelievable during the offseason and so far during the season.
true iggy..havent really seen his weight limit him on defense as far as defending a small foward though too often....he isnt that much lighter then other sf at 230...danny granger is 228, butler is 228 jefferson is 225 maggette is 225 lewis is 230 and marion is 228 so he doesnt really need to get bigger to become a better defender..some dummy on here said you cant be a good defener if you arent big or athletic but of course we all know thats bs
Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams abused him last year in the post and so did Kobe, and once when I watched Al Harrington did. He is less effective defensively the closer he is to the rim, and he isn't very quick-footed either on the perimeter. It isn't looked at as a big deal because such a scoring threat, but it does factor in the Thunder's wins and losses.
yeah hes just not that good of a defender...and think about the players he abused who are bigger then he is...he does need to get stronger though..just doesnt have to get bigger....
Yea if your skinny but strong, like Taj Gibson or even someone like Tayshaun Prince it really doesn't matter because your going to be a presence no matter what.
tru iggy thats why it is a good idea for him to get stronger to be better on the block on d...but he doesnt need to become a elite defender either and he will get better on d with time..right now its not a big issue though
This arguement always gets me. Yeah Durant could stand to put on a little muscle and get stronger, but the guy averaged 25 a game last year. It's not like he has trouble being effective. He's not Jamal Mashburn people, he's the second coming of George Gervin. I also laughed watching NBA tv during the preseason when they did a poll and Durant was voted to be most improved. The guy put up 25 a game!!! To get most improved he's have to average 40.
lol..exactly white flash
They mean they think he could be better than 25 ppg this year, and if not he could lead the Thunder to an improved record. It's not that they expect his points to raise by 15, its that they expect a significant improvement from the Thunder as a team (with him as the leader) and they expect him to challenge for ppg leader in the NBA. I'd say that would qualify him for MIP.
The MIP is about individual improvement. Don McLean won it for the Bullets when they sucked. Not saying Durant won't improve 'cause I think he's got a really high ceiling, but that award is for someone who basically comes outta nowhere.
yeah he wont get most improved..that goes to players who are sorry or just ok then they play very good or great
over the whole summer, i was screaming that this kid will be unstoppable at age 25. at age 20, he averaged 25ppg. he's learning more go-to moves. i think by age 25, this kid will be able to score from the inside, ( at will ), and damage a lot of people from the outside on a consistent basis.
i agree..he already has the post moves down pat
Big O on here suckin my mans quincey hodges u get thumbs down for that fam lol
durant has shown that the weight he gained this summer is good enough..anyone watch the game?..hes stronger and gets boards easier..made prince a poster
we talked lost of times about what a good scorer he is ...but how about this,no matter with strenght he will lead the SFs in rebounds believe me, 11&12 in with two games is so nice
