Elton Brand

This a question for Sixers fans who watch him play regularly. What happened to him, why has he been playing so badly? Is it just that his injury has taken away the mobility and agility that used to be his strong suit? Is it something else?

I am a Duke fan and he has always been one of my favorite NBA players and it sucks to look at the boxscore and see him struggling like he did last night.

I think

It's just the age and injuries are getting to him. Maybe play him less, but have him come in a quarter or two and if he's doing good keep him playing.

back to back injuries...

back to back injuries... Last yr he hurt his sholuder and missed the majority of the season. So i dont know... Im not sold on him being done, but hes got to show some aggresiveness / confidence out there.. We didnt take him to be a role player, he was picked up to take over games, especially in the half court set.

Yea he was supposed to be

Yea he was supposed to be the guy that gave us the added dimension because we are/were already lethal in transition, but he's not played anything like he had before in his career. He's more like a big bodied, role-playing grinder instead of the 20-10-and-2 player he was in Chicago and LA. We need that! Now it's not Dalembert messing up and being the weak link, it's Brand. I say let Speights play and bring Brand off the pine and keep whoever in depending on the flow of the game and who's the hot hand.

I guess the thing is he

I guess the thing is he didn't used to be a role player at all. He was big bodied, and yet quick and nimble on his feet. He was a great athlete and had an excellent post game with well developed moves. Now he doesn't seem to be able to run up and down the court, which I guess has had to do with his injuries.

in playoffs you cant fast

in playoffs you cant fast break all game long lolol. The game slows down in the playoffs, which if you watch b-ball playoffs you know what im talking about. (brand was picked to be a half court scorer).... Remember Pistons series? When they stopped us from running, what did we do? We turned the ball over, and literally had no one who could take over... he was signed to do something that he has yet to show. Injuries or not, he has not gotten it done. (teams cant just flat out run in the playoffs)... Comp gets better / D gets tigher, less transition, but you covered all 5 positions LOL so you should know this.

At this point

Yes he is a role player, but that does not mean that he was always one. He was a star in the NBA for many years. That is what happens when you are decimated by injuries.
