2009 Draftees are surprising alot of folks

IT might've been true that in the days leading up to the 2009 NBA DRAFT that Blake Griffin was the only superstar ..But after seeing some of the rookies play in the summer leagues and preseason..This year's rookies are much better than the so called experts had known..I think half of the guys from this draft might make a allstar or all league team before their careers are done...Don't get me wrong..I don't see any 1st ballot hall of famers..But these BOYS CAN BALL!!! In a few years u can add Harden and Derozan names to the list of premier shooting guards in the league ...Jennings,Flynn and Evans will be handed the keys to run their teams on opening night as the teams starting point guards..Curry has proved so many wrong..At Davidson he seemed to be to thin and just a great outside shooter..But he has displayed a solid all around game and have some crafty moves to get to the rim..But it does seem that he must get stronger..IF Teague keeps up his outstanding play. The Hawks might be unloading Bibby by the trading deadline...Hill,Williams,Clark,Daye,Budinger will become starters soon.. Chicago found a pair of studs in James Johnson & Gibson..Both players displayed a post game something THE BULLS have lacked the past few years.. The draft lacked depth for big men..But Thabeet has shown he can become a defensive presence pretty soon. And Mullens might be the big man the thunder have been waiting on..Memphis Grizzlies fans have to be pleased after seeing the all out hustle youngsters Carroll & Young have shown...Blair,Thornton,Beaubois ,Douglas,Hanbrough and Maynor will get quality minutes this season off the bench..Collison has proved he should've went earlier..WHO SAID THIS WAS A WEAK DRAFT???? WHO SAID DAT?

Me I don't really like

Me

I don't really like Maynor. Price and Williams ahead of him. Mullens will not get much PT. Is it any wonder that Evans, Flynn and Jennings will be running their teams? They are on losing teams! Trust me, Blake Griffin is over-rated. Hansbrough is barely better than Mark Madsen and DeJuan Blair has no knees left.

Conclusion...Weak Draft

Dear THEALCHEMIST...U

Dear THEALCHEMIST...U haven't been watching Blair preseason games...In his 1st game he had 16 points & 19 rebounds...then had 28 points against Miami...AS for Griffin he reminds me of Karl Malone..Teams said Malone was a floater, overweight couldn't pass and didn't have a post game..Like every great player Malone worked on his 2 biggest weaknesses..Which was passing and shooting from mid-range..He finished his career has 1 of the 2 best power forwards that ever played the game...Griffin has played well early on..And had things he needs to work on...Mullens will need a year or 2 of seasoning but his future looks bright..Hansbrough is no Larry Bird or Tom Chambers for that matter..But don't compare him to Madsen..Madsen has to be in top 10 worst players in league history...As for Evans,Jennings and Flynn they might challenge Griffin for rookie of the year

i like griffin a lot, but

i like griffin a lot, but let's quit the malone comparison's right now. Malone was one of the very best passing and face up shooting bigs in the league. And strength wise, he just moved dudes out the way like they weren't there. I still say this draft is pretty weak compared with most other drafts. As for Blair, it is obvious teams fell asleep. BUt his knees are a legit concern for any team drafting higher then 15th. When you are a lottery team, you have to think long term, and from what I've heard, his career might not see a 5th or 6th season becuase of his knees.

Re: RUDEBOY

Dear RUDEBOY, I'm not debating the skills of Karl Malone. That would be stupid. I know all about Blair's numbers in preseason - but a) it's only preseason and b) i'm talking about his long term health, not ability. Evans,Jennings and Flynn will probably challenge for ROY, because they are on bad teams. That doesn't necessarily mean they are very good, just that they will get a lot of PT. I have seen Mullens play numerous times, and to say he is raw is a huge understatement. He maybe OK in two years, but he may also be out the league aswell.
