Andrew Bynum All-Star This Year??

Considering Yao is out and Shaq is in the east for the first time in years the center spot is going to be wide open and if the preseason is a sign as long as he can stay healthy Bynum has a good shot, who else do you guys think has a shot?

bynum looks as good as ever

bynum looks as good as ever right now. 20+ in each of first 3 games and he is hitting like 85% on ft's.

Shaq is slow, dwight howard

Shaq is slow, dwight howard is is bynum's only competition for best center in the league. However not for long Bynum will soon pass Dwight Howard. That Laker team is set up nice they have the most effective players in the from positions 2-6. Kobe, Artest (offense and defense), Pau, Bynum, and LO oh yeah and phil oh yeah and Shannon Brown who ridiculous for 2 mill.

The Lakers are the only ones that get it, they develop their talent, instead of just throwing people out there. The Celtics almost get it, except their nucleus is so old. But no other team! Bynum was a whatever type player just three years ago. Kobe saw nothing in him, but the Lakers are smart. They beat you short and they beat you long, the NBA is on lock for the next four years. Unless Lebron goes to the Celtics there is no scenario where the Lakers break a sweat. David Stern could've stepped in and stopped the Ron Artest aquisition, this is a monopoly!

The short list or centers in

The short list or centers in the west should be, and I'm leaving off Duncan and Jefferson because theyre PF imo, Bynum, Nene, Kaman, Okafor and Oden. Bynum isn't close to Howard yet (No center in the NBA is right now) and Bynum has more of a post game. Which ever two players stay the healthiest will be the two starters, because health has been every one of these players' Achilles heel.

Edit to td: I don't think he'll need to get the touches, in this offense, if he gets his easy dunks, his putbacks and three to five post-ups, he'll have enough points. What he needs to continue to do is be a presence in the middle, getting his 9+ boards and ~2 blocks, and he'll be on the team easily. If he puts up those kind of numbers on a dominant-looking Laker team he'll be good. I personally think Oden will be the other All-Star center, and the other centers staying relatively healthy at least to the all-star break. But I think Bynum and Oden could very well establish themselves as the two young dominant centers in the west.

whoever think bynum

is d12 is out their rabbit mind. okay i know byum has more post moves than d12's none. but look at this d12 is still averaging 20.6 last season without any post moves just off dunks and nasty runnig hooks. now i know bynum can get better too. but imagine this season d12 will improve his free throw shooting and his post moves. man look out.

9rebounds is nothing like Bynum's level, if he can be more agresive he could end this season as second in rebounds in the NBA

you are right on point with

you are right on point with that...bynum has played well this preseason..with all the other options on the lakers..he's put up outstanding numbers....shaq is getting older..but he's still the 3rd best center in the nba..behind howard and yao..bynum and oden are the only 2 other centers that are capable of being hall of famers..if they both remain healthy..bynum has grown so much since his rookie and sophomore years...when even kobe wanted to get rid of him ....

Bynum

2 reasons why I dont think Bynum will be an allstar.
1. I dont think he can stay healthy for extended periods. He always seems to have soemthing wrong and misses a large portion the season. When he gets injured he then seems lose all his confident and forgets what makes him a good player.

2. The 2nd reason is because i think there could still be better centers even if he stays healthy. I think Emeka Okafor will benefit greatly playing with Chris Paul. I think Amare will also quality as a center if the suns play uptempo.

Other centers who could also make allstar team.
Greg Oden
Al Jefferson ( if he also stays healthy)
Andreas Biendrins I know I spelled that wrong.

the only time bynum was

the only time bynum was injured though for extended period of time was big injuries..not lil ones that injury prone peopel get. one of which happened to be when kobe fell into him so im not worried about him being injuried prone like oden who seems to have had injuries since his jr/sr year in hs...bynum if healty is better then emaka in my opinion..when bynum is playing at his best hes shown he can dominate a game..when emeka is at his best he's shown he can be a big factor but not dominate. add on top of that that bynum's game continues to get better while emeka's game has leved out

yeah he does have a pretty

yeah he does have a pretty good chance..i almost forgot about al jefferson..he will be on the all star team....i do wonder why some people keep wanting to say hes a pf as well as duncan..although they can play the position very well, people say it because of there height although hakeem is 6'10 and zo is 6'10 the same with wes unsled....like barkley is a pf even though his height is shooting guard..not sure why people are so stuck on height these days

Yup

I am actually voting for Andrew Bynum to be a starter once the voting starts.. I think this is his chance to prove that he deserves to be there... There is scarcity on the Center spot in the NBA... Most especially Centers that dominate... I mean you can count them with your fingers... Bynum has legit chance to be in the NBA All-Star game...

Al Jefferson is considered a

Al Jefferson is considered a center and we all know he'll have a big season, so he'll definitely be in consideration. The Wolves won't be any good though, so maybe that'll ultimately hurt his chances AGAIN.

I really like Bynum's chances though. I think this is his year. Another person to keep an eye on is NeNe. If Oden continues to play like he is right now, he could have a shot too.

jefferson should have been

jefferson should have been in last season as well. Only thing holding him back is that the wolves will probably still suck, and the coaches do take that stuff into consideration.
