I'm Giving Up
I'm giving up on Gerald Green... It's been a long, long time and he hasn't found the niche on what it is to become a great basketball player... It's been 5 years now and he is already 23 years old... His athleticism and talent goes wasted... I was hoping he'd find a team that fits him and certainly Dallas, Houston and 'sota are not the answer. He had his growing pains and accomplishments at Boston but it never really pan out to other teams... I thought he would have a McGrady-like career... struggle early on and when he finds a team(Orlando), he exploded onto the All-Star scenery... Gerald is no longer in my top list anymore... He disappointed me and has disappointed a lot of people...
I'm giving up on Mike Bibby's bid to at least be on the All-Star once... I was so high on the guy when he was with the Kings... I thought he could have been an All-Star but he was snubbed a couple of times and that's understandable looking at how powerful the Western Conference is but he's 31 and he's not getting any younger...
he's still got a CHANCE but, Nick Young is the next one on my list.
He still has a chance... But I am not counting on it...LOL
if your expecting him to bounce back now, your going to be disappointed, he had a chance to be a stud. too bad
Nick Young looked super good in the Wizards training camp...he should be moved or given PT as an instant offensive weapon for the 2nd unit. The Wizards may very well have the most explosive 2nd unit in the East and arguably ( with Portland) in the NBA:
PG: Randy Foye
SG: Nick Young
SF: Dominic McGuire
PF: Andray Blatche
C: Javale McGee
Perfect blend of athleticism, defensive specialists and offensive weapons.
No they should give the man the starting 2 job
He doesn't defend as good as Miller, Nick Young is a flat-out liability on D. I saw it in their Training Camp today. He has to get that corrected 1st, and you know that's my 2nd favorite player in the NBA.
ehhh, his offensive ability will outweigh his defensive deficiencies, he's that good on O
definently a casualty of dave sterns age rule. it was his year they implemented it, and he obviously decided to jump on the money. I thought from the begining he should have spent atleast a year in stillwater as a oklahoma state cowboy, due to his only real strength being his leaping ability. i also was guilty of the t-mac comparisons and really thought he could be a special player...
Gerald Green can probably still do some stuff in the future but he has to realize there are so many good players in the league that you have to work hard on your game and improve your defense. Lot of teams are just so deep and talented that they have no room for Green to be potential but not much skills. He has to be more solid and this year off will be a wake up call. Nick Young could be killing it for some other team but you know what this is like the old NBA where talented players had to wait for their time and were better for it. Do people realize that Nash, Redd, Mo Williams, David West, Joe Johnson and some other did not come on the scene as starters and ALL Stars. They worked hard year after year and improved to become the stars they are today. You also have to find the right team and situation as well. We will see how Morrow playing for the GSW who went undrafted will become a star to some degree. He can put up 20 plus points per game and also be dangerous from 3 like Allen and Redd are.
I like Gearld Green..... He should've stayed committed to Oklahoma State University.
Dhamp...the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.
i think if a team made a commitment to play green 30 mins a game we would all see that he is a good player. he's never going to prove anything by playing 2 mins every game. ask darko milicic.
what has Green done to warrant 30 minutes per game? Other than his 2nd year in Boston hes shown flashes of nothing.. i would think 30 minutes a game has to be earned.. i know hes a freak athletically but come on...
True, but im talking hypothetically. IF a team made that promise then he would show how good he is i think.
Yea, Gerald Green would put up gaudy scoring numbers if he played that many minutes. But he turn the ball over and give up alot of points as well. That's why he doesn't play anywhere he goes, he won't defend or take care of the ball that well when he tries to create offense. And he doesn't know that he has every single tool to be a good player, he should be a beast....
If Green can add solid D I think more team would take a risk and pick him up. Dahtay Jones is not the talent that Green is and he was starting adn got sign for a decent amount for a player of his caliber. Green is he improves his D could be a 5 million dollar player as his skill set is now but if he grows he has 10 to 12 mil potential.
