Curry's point guard skills is showing that he will have no trouble making the transition from 2 guard to point guard. He has a chance to be one of the top point guards soon. I am just upset New York did not get him. There are some other stuff that I said and you know what I will post stuff up each time it comes out that I was right or wrong but this time it would appear I was right. I been watching and doing my own version of limited scouting because i am not really in that field or have the info actual scouts have but i tend to be on the money with a lot of players. I was knocking Thabeet before everyone jumped on the band wagon on thinking he was a bust but I think after 3 or 4 years he can be a decent Dalembert type player but not now or anytime soon. I like Mullens as a solid average center if he can keep his IQ on Chris Anderson's level maybe he could be that type of player. No offense Birdman, i love your game but you are not the player with the highest IQ but you are not one of the lowest ones either.

Lol long title. ...But he's

Lol long title. ...But he's not going to be a top PG, I don't see it. He isn't a good defender and he isn't going to be much of a threat slashing to the rim. His frame is too narrow for him and he's not that quick to offset that. He'll be a mediocre PG in the NBA, because he does have some decent passing skills. And his shot is cash, that's good for something.

HAHAHAHA. Sheltwon...

HAHAHAHA. Sheltwon... long-time-no-debate.

Are u basing your I-told-you-so on the preseason? I still don't think that Curry has what it takes to be a great PG, especially right away. He might put up decent stats, but I think that if he's ever going to be on a winning team, it will be as a 6th man~ a la JET

well for Mullens to be like

well for Mullens to be like birdman i don't see it. birdman is a player who works his tail off and doesn't have much talent but gives it all. while Mullens has loads of talent but doeskin have any work ethic and is as lazy as they come.

Birdzilla birdman is an

Birdzilla birdman is an athletic freak. Also I said there were steps Mullens would have to take to get there did not say he was there now. Also his preseason numbers outside of passing sucked. I am talking bout Curry here. He has shown passing skill that can translate into the regular season. Passing skills many said he did not have. Also I am remembering a shooting guard from Arizona who was too shot and not that athletic to play shooting guard in the pros so people thought. He fell into the second round and went to GSW where he played well and earn himself a lot of money after 2 years. As much as people like Arenas. He still is not a great athlete, he is not overly quick. He is still around 6'3" Curry is probably a better passer and shooter than Gilbert was when he came in. Curry also is very smart and works hard. He is being challenge by all you doubters and he will prove like Arenas did that you guys are wrong. Also Curry could very well be still growing. He may peak at 6'4" and add more muscle and he is not as bad of an athlete as people are saying. I don't get where people are getting there info about what he can't do. Derick Rose has all the physical gifts and his defense needs work. Curry will get it.

Also there is nothing for me

Also there is nothing for me to debate right now I am just waiting on yall to see how right i was when the season starts. If I had the degree and the connects I could do this for a living. I am just that good and I am not being arrogant either. I am just saying one of my strengths. There are things everyone is good at. I actually have a lot of flaws but basketball stuff is not one of them.

hey man, i usually agree with most of your post, but saying Curry will be a top PG is stretching it a little too much. I like Curry, and I understand your comparisons to Arenas based on their size, and skills. but the difference is, Arenas is a much more explosive player than Curry, that's how he generates much of his scoring. he has a quick and explosive first step and has a variety of offensive moves from the triple threat and from the bounce. he knows how to use his body to protect the ball and uses his body to create mismatches.

before he got hurt, Arenas was one of the best at shooting off the dribble, getting to the foul line, and just creating any shot for himself. Curry doesn't have the same explosiveness and quickness Arenas has, and I don't see him getting much bigger than he already is. you can't base his playmaking ability from one preseason game, although I admit he is a much better passer than I thought. if I could compare him to someone, it would be another guard from Arizona; Mike Bibby.

I'm all for bold predictions

I'm all for bold predictions and confident choices, but for you to get cocky over a choice you made after a preseason game is kinda jumping the gun man. Most of us on here (notice I said most lol) know alot about basketball, but it's not correct to be cocky about a prediction that hasn't even had time to manifest its existence..

unaznized, do your research

unaznized, do your research Arenas was not viewed as explosive in college. He gained a lot of that by working hard and improving his body. There are things you can do to add more explosiveness. I am saying Curry who is not slow himself but is not a super speedster but is fairly quick can do the same. I actually think that if Curry does not get the injuries that Arenas did, he will be better. Shame my homie's Knicks did not get him. Bibby on Sacramento was quicker than Arenas. I hate how people get so caught up in hype. I know it is hard to do but look at these players minus the hype.

sheltwon, I played against

sheltwon, I played against Arenas in highschool and he was pretty damn explosive. I also, and you would just have to take my word for it since I can't prove it, said he was the best player coming out of the pac 10 that year and should have been a lottery pick. He was very explosive. He was never criticized for his quickness or athelticism. He was criticized because he was an undersized sg who it didn't appear had the willingness to play pg. And saying "basketball is not one of my flaws", "I am just that good" and telling people to check their facts when they disagree with you, is pretty darn arrogant.

Curry

I'm not sure where I am at on the whole Curry thing, but I think he has the potential to be great. He is definitely slower than I would like, but the kid has an IQ that is through the roof and he can get his shot off any time that he wants. I'm not sold on him having a big year at all this year. I wouldn't be surprised if he struggles a lot, but in the years after I think he has a chance to be something special. Anyone that has watched him play knows he can play. His point guard skills have came a long way since he began his college career and he did a really nice job last year despite not having any talent around him. Nothing about his game is flashy, but he's effective and efficient. I remember the game that he had last year where the team doubled him the whole game and he ended up scoreless. There are a lot of guys that would have found a way to get the ball and force up a few shots. I think that game said a lot about Curry in itself.

Curry will be a star

Curry will be a star in Nelsons system...once they clean up those distractions Curry will end up a 22 n 7 player with his jump shot and passin skills, and he gets steals what more do you need he might not just shut down every pg but I bet he will learn how to play great defense. I can't go as far as top 5 pg but he will be top 10 in the future for sure.

Most guards in the NBA are

Most guards in the NBA are explosive but the thing is there is a difference in levels. I remember the talks about Arenas and they never talked about him being a great athlete. I know the guys that did not make the NBA that to me are very explosive but in the NBA everyone is that and more. I think Curry will have to prove to everyone that he can do some things just like Arenas did before people stop labeling him as something he is not. He has lots of time to develop his body. Just like Durant did after his Rookie season. Nelson will play Curry a lot of minutes and this will help him gain experience and next year after he works on his game, his body and just his total basketball awareness, he will be a player to be reckoned with. Curry is still adjusting to the speed of the NBA like a lot of rookies are and he has to play the hardest position to play and that is point guard. Also some of you need to look up arrogant because you seem to confused that with confidence. I remember i said something and people shot me down and treated me like I am stupid but hey they were not arrogant but if I put it out that hey look I am right and I know my stuff I am arrogant. I have never look down on people's views and act like I am so much better than them on stuff but I am confident that I know my stuff, How a person receives that depends on their own insecurities. That is why confident even cocky athletes have to pretend to be people they are not so that people don't get offended.

im not sure if some of yall

im not sure if some of yall remeber arenas but he was very explosive in the college games i saw..i dont know if the scouts said he was or not but he was. plus alot of those same scouts say guys arent explosive or guys have short arms but then when they get mesaured they look lik edummies for sayin those things. im not sure if curry will be a top pg but i think he can be pretty good. he wasnt as good this second game as he was the first game though as far as setting people up and i also dont think he will be a better pg then jennings nor flynn this year or in the future

my question is... how can you be sure that you "are right" like you've been saying, how do you know for sure that Curry is going to be the player you picture him to be in the future? I don't understand how after his first preseason game, you think you're "right" about Curry and everyone else who shot you down for it is wrong.

listen man, I like Curry and I think he'll be a pretty solid guard in the NBA for a long time. but I really doubt he becomes a top PG in the NBA. honestly, in 5 years, who would you rank Curry in front of? would you say he'll be better than Chris Paul? Deron Williams, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Tyreke Evans, Jonny Flynn, Brandon Jennings, heck even John Wall? again, I think Curry will be a solid starter for a long time and I don't question his work ethic at all, but I just don't see him getting much better than what he is right now.

anyways if you wanna go by how success in preseason games, here's his stats for the game against the Lakers:

41:17 mins
5-15 FG
1-5 3pt FG
0-2 FT
4 asts
6 TO
2 Steals
5 PF
11 points

as you can see, he didn't replicate his numbers and wasn't distributing the ball as well from his first game. My point is, you can't base how great of a player he'll become in the future based on one PRESEASON game.

I said he will be a top

I said he will be a top point guard not the top point guard. There is a big difference. Arenas is a top point guard but is not the top point guard. Are you following me. I see Curry being an Arenas type clone and I guess we will see who is right. Birdzilla everything you said is correct and I know that but I said if he can pick up that stuff and you know what lately OKC has been making great pick ups so the fact that they drafted him makes me think Mullens will lean towards being a solid player. Mullens also can shoot pretty good from Mid Range. He also moves like an Amare type. I saw footage and I was shocked myself. His problems is skill set which can be learned and also low basketball IQ. All of this can be learned and playing for OKC and with a Center like Nenad Kristic who has great perimeter skills could help him in that area. Maybe he can also learn to handle the rock from Green. Offensively though he is ahead on Chris Anderson but Defensively there is a huge difference.

Arenas has the ability to

Arenas has the ability to slash to the rim and score as well when contested. Curry hasn't shown the ability to slash to the rim or make tough shots like Arenas. Curry is going to have to be a spectacular player when contested to be an Arenas-type scorer, as he will rarely get to the rim with his poor frame and lack of explosiveness and athleticism. Gilbert Arenas is very quick and explosive, I have no idea how you can say he's not. I've never heard that be said about him at all. The only knock on Arenas was if he could play PG. Arenas also has the ability to post up and score. Curry won't be much of a player, he should always be a backup. Mike Bibby? More like Mike James, not the Toronto one either.

Gilbert Arenas would not

Gilbert Arenas would not have gone into the second round if it was just about position. His game has evolved but on an NBA level that felt his athleticism is average. He worked on his quickness. He did not show all that in college. He was nice in college so don't get me wrong but he never showed the NBA Arenas at all in college. College has a way of hiding some of your overall game. Look at Morrow. I am not saying that Arenas did not have some of this but I am saying coming out of college, no one thought of Arenas and a quick real athletic player. He was seen as a undersized shooting guard with average speed and athleticism. Arenas worked on his game improve some areas and then he gains time with GSW and leave after his second year is up to join Washington. Arenas was not even talk about much during the draft even when he went second round. It was not like how Sam Young and Dejuan Blair was seen as they went in the second round. If everything you say is true. why did he not get talked about being a steal until he started playing well. I am not making this stuff up.

unaznized...wow an you even mention john wall when he hasnt even proven his self on the college level..and i also cant see how you can put evans in there when he also has to show he can be a pg and not a combo or a scorer who happens to play pg because so far hes doing a bad job at it( 3ast-3.5 turnovers agame)

For someone not trying, you

For someone not trying, you have managed to stroke enough to cum. But, can we wait untill at least the allstar game to "not try" to stoke anymore? Because the preseason means nothing.
